  1. Thank you! In fact, Kathy and I are heading your way on 22 April. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get there in time to make the OA World Series of Fishing event however. I'll check back in as we get closer to the date. We'll be there until the following Saturday so, hopefully, we can get this deal out of the thinking stage! If all else fails, little brother and I will be back on 13 May but Kathy's quite a bit more fun and lots prettier!
  2. Sure wish that dang James arm stretched a little farther to the north. Like to Leavenworth!
  3. I don't know if I'm right or wrong or even if there is a right or wrong here but it seems to me that it's tough enough to catch ANY really big fish so wouldn't it be even more difficult to catch a specific, individual really big fish a second or third time? Hence, the degree of the challenge would be increased rather than lessened? Although maybe it's easier to do in those smaller Californie lakes than someplace like Table Rock? I dunno - maybe it's one of those "secret of life" deals.
  4. Is it raining at your house too? I thought maybe it was just an "isolated" shower. Should blow over in four or five days though so no big deal. The dog won't even go outside! Looks like something off of "Deadliest Catch".
  5. You should check in with Champ. He could write a book about it, complete with vivid imaginary mental illustrations to enhance your experience. It would be almost like being there. Except for the fact that you'd actually be somewhere else entirely but still........
  6. Well, on the other hand, you could just tell us exactly where, how and what you used to catch them and would could just go catch our own! You know, give a man a fish or teach a man to fish and............................
  7. I imagine you're right but I gotta say I prefer Champ's geographical description a little better! Much easier to visualize even if it's the wrong end of the lake entirely!
  8. Hmmm. In that case, so did I! Good for me I say.
  9. Aw, you can do without food and water for more than one lousy day. I said "survive" not flourish! For what it's worth, I wish I could have been out there getting skunked today. See? Somebody's always at least a little bit worse off!
  10. NO, NO, NO! I didn't mean that I didn't think she was worth it - I just meant that she might not want to spend $35! (How'd I do? Think she'll fall for that back walked spin? I'm pedalin' as fast as I can here.)
  11. Man, those are nice - I'm a customer and big fan of your stuff.
  12. I think pretty much everything that can be learned (that's worthwhile anyway) requires a screwup. If not yours, then somebody else's! I'm just glad that we're fisher people and not bomb makers.
  13. I like it! Concise yet comprehensive. You could survive indefinitely on a deserted island with that stash. Well, a deserted island on Table Rock anyways.
  14. Didn't know that. Thanks! I just might be able to justify staying alive for another year for $35! Now as for Kathy's that's still an awful lot of money.................
  15. Yeah, those dang Mustang's are about eighty bucks to rearm. Mine are a year old and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I'm worth it!
  16. You guys need to acquire one of Super Dave's "Guide to Eliminating Unnecessary Tackle" manuals. He's the best I've ever seen at narrowing down what actually goes in the boat to the absolute minimum. In fact, I can say with considerable certainty that less than 10% of what he owns even makes the trip to the lake much less gets put into his boat. Of course, when one considers that what he owns is two to three times the entire inventory of Bass Pro and Cabela's combined then maybe it's not quite as impressive but he's still nothing if not selective.
  17. "Noise canceling buff on backwards disorder" is pretty good stuff! Is it bluetooth compatible as well? Might have to look into one of those babies if so.
  18. Good work and ditto to the life jacket. Probably would have been a lot tuffer getting him back in without it. Bet that was a bit chilly too!
  19. OK - my turn. What's a Ned? Nice fish!
  20. Too bad Hillbilly Bowl is no more - a second validating source gone by the wayside.
  21. Noo, noo, noo, noo, noo, noo! I made reference to a cinema quote - nothing more. Could have just as easily been Moby Dick - you know, a fishing movie. Trolls like you are always looking for the worst in people. And after I thought I had left this kind mistreatment in the past and moved on to new chapter in my forum life. Very sad....................
  22. Yep. Lacy Underall. "You wanna tie me up with your ties, Ty?"
  23. HEY! I'm RIGHT here! I don't mind so much when you're trashing me behind my back but right out here in the open is a little rude. BTW, no wonder those guys are catching em' - Watermelon red Ned I'm bettin'?
  24. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
