  1. A lot of fishing is done early in the day or at night during the summertime. Not only is it more comfortable, but the boat traffic isn’t as bad. It also helps to get out during the week or on Sunday evening when the crowd is smallest. Just don’t plan to fish main lake points during the summertime. You can fish the coves without too many problems.
  2. I bought too early. I just got a new minn kota maxxum 80lb. 52” trolling motor. I should have waited a little longer and I’m sure I could have gotten a heck of a deal.
  3. I am seriously terrible at this game apparently. It is fun... but I suck at it.
  4. I had him. I thought the lake might fish to his advantage, but I changed out at the last minute and went with the crowd. He had a good day it looks like.
  5. I think a recessed foot pedal must help (I don’t have one), but dang. I’m certainly not as balanced as I once was.
  6. When I’m manning the trolling motor, I like to half lean half sit against the seat. Especially in the rough water. I don’t know how some guys keep from falling out of the boat when the water gets rough when they don’t even have a seat installed up there.
  7. Isn’t there a guy from this forum fishing the classic this year? Anybody pick him?
  8. Not an issue at pb2.
  9. I’ve heard of guys getting into some rebar or something and messing up the tires on their trailers at pa he tsi during low water.
  10. Pretty crazy for sure. There was a little bit of snow on the ground (just a dusting) between Jeff City and Columbia this morning.
  11. I bought one on an old recommendation of yours. I will have it tied on from now until June. Also, I finished getting the trolling motor mounted today. Thanks for the help.
  12. I just got a new pedestal for by boat. I found a really good deal on iboats.com. I had to stay on them about getting my item shipped, but I got it significantly below what I would have paid otherwise.
  13. You can see a surface temp report on the krms radio station website. I believe it is takes at glencove marine at the 2.5 mile mark.
  14. I broke down and got the lifetime permit a few years ago. I wish I had done it when I was considering it as a teenager. It was way cheaper then. It will take quite a few years to recoup my money. But, god willing, I will. It also lets me hunt migratory birds and trout fish without debating with myself if I’m going to get out enough to make it worth doing (some years I get out more than others). Now I can go just one day and feel great about it because it is already covered. Now I just pay for deer, turkey, and federal duck stamp; I’m covered for everything else.
  15. I understand that Embry has been on quite the tear lately. I was expecting to see him with a decent finish after his finish last week.
  16. There will be another open tournament on June 2. It will be an overnight tournament. Hopefully some of you guys can make it for that one. The fishing should be significantly better. Out of 37 boats, I believe there were only five sacks weighed. I heard that only four of them were limits (haven’t confirmed that though).
  17. I don’t know about Stockton, but Lake of the Ozarks fished really tough today all around.
  18. I can’t hardly stand getting into they kayaks that the general public has now. Even though they have a lot of room, I think they are far less comfortable than the whitewater boats in been in where you cram yourself in and your legs fall asleep in no time. Kinda like the difference between a fitted suit and something “off the rack” I guess. Sit-on-tops are ok, but I’d rather just use a canoe at that point.
  19. Kayaking helped me pay my way through college. Some of the best summers of my life. I sold all my kayak stuff shortly after getting married (I do still have some of my cheaper old paddles for some reason). I realized that I wouldn’t be going to make those 12 hour trips east or west to get into the “good” water. I decided to make room in the garage. I now have a ‘92 Champion where my kayaking stuff once lived.
  20. I have to say, as a former whitewater kayak instructor, that is awesome.
  21. No. I was the guy calling the numbers this morning. It it was super tough for me. I didn’t get a bite all day. I didn’t throw an a rig, but I tried just about everything else I could think of to try. I just couldn’t find them.
  22. Amen!
  23. I love fishing, but if you ask me... that is better. ❤️😊
  24. I’ve got a seat in my boat.
  25. I’ll see you guys there tomorrow. I’ll be in the red Champion with the OAF sticker on the console windshield.
