Had a friend go up Thursday, trolling down on the lower lake they caught 9 nice hybrids 3-10#. didn't say whether they got any whites.
-
Hoped with the recent rainfall that they would be running water through the dam but that wasn't the case. Bluebird skies a little wind made it tough ran down the lake a bit and ran into an area of probably a half a mile in length where the whites were surfacing. We were on them for about an hour easily catching one most every cast

Had friends over for a fish fry other night. Thawed a pack of white bass in case we needed it. Just got done slicing it up mixing in some onion and spices. Give it half a day add some clinatro, tomato, and jalapeño

4 pages in this thread and I haven't read anyonne who has eaten anything that they or someone they know has caught. Ny preferred way to eat white bass is cerviche.when you cut it into small bits you can discard any red meat. I had redfish sushi prepared by a fellow fisherman in LA last fall. My brother made paddlefish caviar and we ate a mason jar full of it, If that had been store bought it prabably would have cost $10,000. And as an added benefit as @BilletHeadwill state I never have to go to the bait store to get my worms🤪

Ultrex cable issue

Is everyone else's cable push the power cable like this. I most often swing the cable around to the outside to avoid this but it's awkward -
Ultrex cable issue
curtisce replied to curtisce's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
The whole deployment cable on Ultrex shows a lack of engineering IMO. The cable pushes against the power cable to the head when you deploy it. I thought I had the trolling motor on the wrong side of the boat or maybe I'm doing it wrong -
I think what is meant is that fish should taste like fish smell ;ile after not being propely stored
-
Anybody else have problems with the Ultrex deploy cable. I never liked how it pushes against the primary power cable going to the head. But now I noticed the plastic coating on the cable has worn off and the steel cable is carving a groove in the aluminum piece. May have to replace both

They were up on bed so they were pretty easy to target. Find an area with large boulder size rock throw a fluke or ned by it .most of the time we did long cast but sometime we would come up on one and see the nest. Many times you wouldn't feel the bite but you could see the fish move off the nest with the bait so you just set the hook.

Glacial lakes region in NE South Dakota. It's a very interesting area geologically speaking. You can see on the map all the lake there are in the area. This area is about 600 ft higher in elevation than the surrounding area which doesnt have the number of lakes. Roy Lake is the Lake just SW of Lake City

First trip in 2013 was for 4 days of fishing. This year I went up Sunday before Memorial Day and stayed till the Saturday after Memorial day, 13 days of fishing. Wind is always a factor. It would keep us off the lake at times but we managed to get out each day to fish despite the elements. Had one night with a freeze and the day we left my truck thermometer read 101 so quite a change in 2 weeks. We fished 10 different lakes ,caught 8 different spieces of fish. Targeted mostly bass, both small and largemouth but would catch penty of pike and a few walleyes doing that . GP Ned was the favorite bait but caught some of the bass on bubble gum flukes . Jerkbaits and crankbaits as well. We bottom bounced a bit for walleye but swimbaits produced as well and certainly more entertaining. bigges SM was 5.25#, biggest LM 6.5# , and my best 5 fish day was 22.75# all SM. We camped at the state park on Roy , had a few fish frys , and ate a few night at Club Eden the local watering hole. Camp after 16 hours of rain Battling the wind, thank god for spotlock Pat wiht the largest SM 5.25# He caught the largest LM too 6.5# 5# SM My second 5# SM of the day 3SM of the day My son with a nice one Doubling up both caught on a ned Love these guys

Was up there last week. It wasn't till the end of the day that I figured out as you found that the ledges and bluff ends were better than the spawning areas.
-
good report. Looks like you did well on the LM with ned. Fishing deep and with ned you'd expect more SM and spots.
-
Wind not as bad today. Fished north of twin bridges. Caught plenty of bass today but only a few keepers nothing big. Few smalles that were fat. Most the LM looked more post spawn belly wise. No bloody tails thought. Caught most in 10 fow Caught 6 walleyes 5 kept 3 were 18" Got a drum again
-
Were out same day for the green fish. Started at Greenfield fihing plastics and jigs mostly, occ spinnerbait. Got on fish on ledgy rock. Had to hide from the wind went into Birch Branch everyone had the same idea. Probably 6 boats in the last cove. Headed uplake friend wanted to try crankbait on the riprap. I thought maybe an eye out deeper. I hook up with a nice LM, then another stayed there rest of the afternoon probably 2 dozen between us and a drum and a channel. Ended with 46 total 10 keepers biggest 3#. Headed back today.

There was a BFL this past weekend on the Rock
curtisce replied to Quillback's topic in Table Rock Lake
Wasn't it an FLW event. Most of the "pro" angler were local or regional. Also I couldn't find day 2 results. -
Had a guide show me once. He said if you think your'e fishing it to slow then your'e fishing it too fast.
-
We fished out of Baxter, results not to different. Had one LM go 3.5#. Probably had enough keeper spots to make a limit between us. Checked the WFL results, anyone who caught just one fish had a bag weight of right at 2# +- an ounce so we had 11.5# sack😝😝.Orange/green Ned or Kietech for us.Thought about getting out before the snow today but one hour drive each way keept me at home.Anyone get out early?
-
Wonder how many FLW boats went by and wanted to fish it😆😆 When you have 200+ boats competing for a spot sitting on a good ones sounds like a winning tactic.

Went saturday, put in before 7:00 a hiway 10. What a mess, covered with soft mud except where the trucks and trailers had squished it away. The ramp is more useable if more of it in the water. Lots of company today. Counted 14 boats on one section. Water color is a bit off but not bad 1 ft of viz. Some small debris in the water. WT 54. Took my prop boat up as far as I could. Caught one nice male along a current seam thought it would continue but it didn't. Saw boats pulling in an occasional fish, many were dinks. Lots of moving around. Abandoned the upper part went down by the floating docks. saw fish on LS but no bites. Think they were gar. Left around 2. One fellow I talked to said they did well the last hour and half before dark on friday. Had a big full moon last night too.

Pro guide AGM batteries
curtisce replied to Dutch's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
my trolling batteries were on their 4th season so needed to get replaced. My new livescope was eating up a Proguide 27 so at the advice of a friend I went to Sam's and got AGMs A 31 for the cranking battery. He said get Diehard, I ended up with Duracell but it took a full days use 11 hours on the water and stayed over 12v . -
Arrive around 7:00AM. Styarted at Beaver Creek put inlooking with electronics for signs of fish. WT around 54 in morning. Found places with fish on LS but not any takes. Tried most everything we had to offfer. Went up past 160 bridge to the first shoal whch stopped us from going further. Caught a few nice males nothing huge. Lots of boats and not much catching going on. midday was very slow. Stated to see a little activity later in afternoon and the bank fisherman were arriving . fished around 160 bridge cahsing fish with LS some success. Worked our way back down stopping where we'd seen fish earlier. Caught a few one on megabass and one large female oon flicker shad. WT ended at 57 when we pulled out at 6:00.
