Got down to spring today. $10 to park at Twin Bridges. There are signs there with instructions to pay by phone so you don't have to go up the hill to the office. Not a lot of vehicles there maybe 20. Ran up to where I found first collection of boats. Looked around with Livescope. Tried a jig got a few hits. Most people were using A rigs so I spent about a 1/2 hour making one up.. Caught a few with that. Ran upstream further. Spent much of the time searching, found most of the fish in lower sections of the river.Tried different baits, caught a few on a deep diving Flicker Shad fire tiger. got good at watching my bait on Livescope . Fish would follow both the A rig and the Flicker Shad. Saw a few fish hit the baits. Around 1:00 decided to head home, ran into a bunch of boats down lower so stopped to look around. Didn't see anything but a few small schools of whites . Picked up one nice white there. Went back loaded the boat and decied to clean my 6 fish there . While I'm cleaning my massive catch a Ranger boat pulled up and started unloading fish. 83 between the 3 of them. I had seen them the last place I stopped. said the caught them all there between 10:00 and 12:00 died after that. The top waypoint is where I caught fish the bottom one is where the other guys were.WT 45 rose to 47 by noon

TM interference Helix 10
curtisce replied to Gumboot's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Had the same problem watched youtube on the subject. Only one that made sense was a guy that said you need good electrical connection. Most electronics are run with small gauge wire. I took the 12 ga wire that was running my TM (which was also too small) used it to run all my electronics at the console and bow. Ran a new 10 ga to run the TM. no problems since. -
Laast year I did a few corned goose breast. tasted just like corn beef but the meat is dense and tough , even thinn sliced. thought I'd try agaon plus add some smoke to make pastrami. stareted with 3 geese, one was large one mdeium small and one cackler. Into brine of salt brown sugar and pickling spice for a week. Last 3 days I threw in some skinned duck breast to try too.. Let them all dry in the cool garge overnight then covered with pastrami rub. Smoked at 200 degrees for about 4 hours. The big breast got to 133 degrees internal temp. I vacummed sealed 3 of the bigger breast and put 3 in a ziplock. All the goose breast went into a sous vide at 145 degrees for 24 hours. I had the ones in the ziplock so I could check them before my bedtime and their continued jacuzzi. Didn't do the duckssince they are usually tender on their own. results were great , the goose breast were much more tender but the meat didn't fall apart at all. I don't eat pastrami but I could taste the corned meat along with the rub spicesbreasted getting pickledon the rackrub appliednice reddness to the meat with pink curing salt

Yea still in the grip of winter till this last week, Water flow is now over 2300csf most be from the slow snowmelt. That's certainly better than getting blown out by a quick rainstorm.

I spent a few years in MN. At that time the Burbot was considered a trash fish. Throw it out on the ice to freeze. Now it has gain some notarity. Ice fishing minus the prostitution leaves only drinking.

A like is as good as "let's go"

Water level been low 600csf. This last storm bumped it to 1600csf. Maybe that will get things going

battery reversing polarity

So I'm going to check it again tomorrow. I'll take it back but I bought it at Sams so I'm sure they will have a qualified technician to diagnose the problem -
battery reversing polarity
curtisce replied to curtisce's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
It is reading minus 6 volts. The charger won't charge because it thinks I have the cables hooked up backwards -
They are cute but they are trouble. Maybe if they were left alone they owuld just ruin one place. Now they move around tearing up everywhere they go

I bought all new batteries last spring. Was looking to buy diehards ended up with Duracells, they both start with D and actually look quite similar. They worked fine all last season. No problem with the cranking battery running livescope. They are AMG. I have only a 2 bank charger so At the storage unit I put one bank on the cranking battery. Last week I went out to put some stuff in the storage unit. I took the charging cables off the cranking battery and put it back on the trolling motor battery. The charging unit red light came on when I plugged it in meaning bad connection, Messed around with the connection at the battery but no change. Brought out my other battery charger from home hooked it up and it said wires reversed and wouldn't turn on. Brought out a voltage meter that my electrician friend instructed me on how to use. Hooked it up and the one battery reads -6 volts. When I reversed the meter, put black oon + red on - it read +6 volts. The other 2 batteries read +12 volts. Anyone ever hear of that? Brought the battery home and will take it back where I bought it when the streets get a little clearer.

Foster Had to come up with an Austrailan name for him. when he was young he was a chick magnet.. Thought if I was young and single again I would get a new puppy every 6 months. Now he's the best hunting dog ever. I canbe gone all duck season and my wife never complains. an artist friend and dog lover painted his portrait.

Like the looks of @Ryan Miloshewski duck Bourguignon. Made Coq du vin last week which is the same recipe. Turned out great having leftovers for lunch. Gives me something to do with skinless breast other than jerky. Went heavy on the duck. Would like more carrots next time. Couldn't find pearl onions so I just cut up a white onion

As said a well layed out plan. Loved watching them drop in during early light. more fun watching them than shooting them sometimes. marty didn't mention this pond bordered a busy hardtop road so we had constant company. bet some of them got startled by our shots as they passsed by.Hope things thaw and we get a few more days in next week.

Were you in the interior holes or on Barber? I was on the NW coorner of willow Slash, heard shooting to the north sounded like most of it was from Barber. I would be surprised if anyone could get to the interior holes but i didn't go check them out.

Finished middle zone season breaking ice to get into Schell. Almost got the boat stuck on the ice. Huge numbers of ducks and snows on the refuge lake. They were making a short jump to the refuge field to feed. Had 3 pair and one single come in. Enough to get 4 green heads and be done by 8:30
