  1. Looks like a great time! Fish when they bite. Fish in the cooler and enjoy the ride when they don’t.
  2. I usually prefer to book through independents. You know they get all the money. Not always possible at an Alaskan Bush camp/lodge. You have cooks, housekeepers, guides, pilots.
  3. Lucky you! Put your rod under your drivers side windshield wiper so you don’t drive off w/o it.
  4. Good for both of you!
  5. Never have been proud about fixing planes that killed a bunch of people. They were despot Iraqi’s but still people. Folks stray when away even if they love each other. Not gonna get in that mix. Some women are loyal, some are out looking the second you boots are out of town.
  6. What happens on the deployment, stays on the deployment. Expect to find your wife our gf the way you left her when you get home. Freshly forked.
  7. Gonna frost soon. Time to check sights and shoot more vermin.

    Time

We watched a ton of those old horror movies in the early 1970’s. Aunt Kay is a huge fan. We were kids. Slept over there about once a month with my cousins. Uncle To y left at 6pm for his shift at Chrysler in Fenton. Breakfast for dinner then horror movies, Stooges,, Abbot & Costello, Bugs Bunny, & the Road Runner.
  9. This one is loyal but crazy. Can cover 500’ in about 6 seconds and wear our most duck dogs. Born to run.
  10. That’s a tough one to place! Our Aussie is hell on wheels, and that is crossed with a pit. Will take a special owner. Both are very loyal breeds. Strong herding instinct.
  11. You were in the Army, but a Ranger, not a Soldier. I like the boat.
  12. On multi-day trips with several guides tips are usually pooled at the end, but you can tip individually on the side if you choose to. If a multiple day trips with one guide you pay/tip at the end. Lots of day trips with different guides. Tip, pay by day. If you paid ahead for the days, just the tip, 20% or more is not uncommon.
  13. Depends on the level of service and the price of the trip. Usually in the $50-100 per day range. Have stiffed a few for stupidity. One kept calling my gf “honey”. She told him her name again and asked him to use it, but he did not comply. $0 tip. Another, asked him to stop flipping his ciggy butts in the water. It didn’t happen. $0 tip. Will usually tip if a guide gives good service and works at it regardless of numbers of fish caught. Capt Ciggy Butt was seriously fishy that day. Have fished with him again, and he stopped pitching his Ciggy butts.
  14. No worries on prosecution. Have a 2 great criminal defense attorneys on call. I do their taxes.
  15. Fish enforcement is a joke! Only time I’ve been checked is while at a remote access while eating lunch out of the trunk of my Mom’s expensive luxury car (Jeep was in the shop, she was in Florida for a month). Not from around there most definitely. One was a dbag, had his hand on his weapon ready to draw the whole time. We were obvious threats! Armed with a deli sub in one hand and a cold beer in the other.
  16. They do float stock the browns in the Current. Not sure about others. Niangua stockers always seem to be by a road access. Used to float it the day before park C&R Season. Usually caught 80+ out of the road holes, better fish where not in the road holes.
  17. It would probably fish allot better if they float stocked it, instead of road stocking.. The fish are all balled up, and they are easy pickings.
  18. Congrats on one for the freezer! Elk & deer don’t seem to like each other. Never see them together when we visit Lone Elk Park in STLCO.

    What's Cooking?

Experiment for the soup party next Saturday. Oyster & Artichoke stew. Great but need to back of the cayenne a bit.
  20. How bout this one.... “bleached blonde momma with a streak of mean.”
  21. Sitting on the “Group W bench”. Think Stein needs to put a for sale photo thing together. $3500 with the 9.9 & trailer asking price?
  22. Fish fast. Not that cold. Around noon
  23. Try it! if you have open water. Would hit the slack near current, be prepared to punch some wood. Minnows stack up there now. Buzz baits through down tree tops.

    What's Cooking?

Grateful to my neighbor tonight! 3lbs of fresh ground deer and 1/2 of a smoked deer tenderloin fresh off the smoker!
  25. Semper Fi Devil Dog! I've never set foot in Vietnam either. Did cruise past aboard the USS Ranger in 1987 or so. One of Saddam Hussein's troops shot a few scuds in our direction, but that is as hairy as it got.
