If they bought it without zoning in place....they took a gamble. Guess they could donate it as an extension of Route 66 State Park. Green space is preferable to another gravel mine pit on the lower Meramec.
Eureka Gravel Mine
Saw this in the PD today. Winter Brothers wants permission to mine their 500+ Acres of bottom land in Eureka. I hope this does not get approved.
Very cool video. New trigger is in the mail. Will keep it on the iron sights until then. Maybe 100 rounds down the barrel but improving. Hits mostly @ 25Y with irons.
Usually pick a translucent bait in really clear water, but a clear one might snag more light. Might shine like a light bulb from the fishes point of view. Will have to try. Thanks!
Think you are right Al. There were some cabin rentals in Devil's Elbow called Piney Beach, have seen folks put in at Devil's Elbow before..Easy day float down to Boiling Springs Resort on the Gasconade. Popular area but it can produce some nice fish. They are not usually easy.
Have some friends in Minnesota that do it right. All the comforts of home in their ice house. Plenty of perch, walleye, & pike to eat. The ice rarely gets thick enough in MO.
Buy yourself a spool of light fly rod tippet and attach it to your 6lb test. Some of the finer tippet sizes have a thinner diameter, and more strength than typical 2lb mono.
They pop up all the time on Craigslist. Make sure that the boat has a title if you intend to attach a motor and use on a public waterway. Its a real pain to register a boat, motor, or trailer without a title. Good luck!
Paddle Jon did well. Handles differently than a 17' canoe. Gotta set your shot well in advance. Will not spin on a dime but slow & predictable. The 55TM pushes it along nicely.
Had the Anova Sous Vide gizmo for 2 years and many meals. Still very happy with it. Did not take a single picture but was a good trip. They all look the same anyway. Filthy men in canoes in gray winter woods.
With age it gets tougher. Buddy had to haul his travel trailer down for his 68 yr old dad this weekend. Should be camping on a gravel tonight, but had some plumbing issues to fix before getting out of town.
Snook just love topwater plugs. Tarpon will eat them too. Little bait fish & shrimp imitations are effective too. They will run the trough within a couple feet of the beach if you want to sight fish for them..
You can get some great information from a good finder. Won't make them eat, but at least you know that you are not fishing in a structure less/fish less waste land.
Any insight on some better iron sights for air guns? Would like an adjustable back peep sight, adjustable front sight post(up or down) and all metal so you can char it flat black to show up in any light...Just like the old M-16A2 sights we shot in the USMC and the sights on my dad's fossil Rem 22. Peep and a post.
Finally got the Benji on paper with a screwdriver handy today. The back iron sight is a POS. Wobbles front to back. Gotta remember to push it in place before every shot. Pretty happy otherwise. Held a great group @ 25 with the shitty open sights once I figured the sight issue out. Should be better after it settles in and I scope it.
