  1. Sharpen the hook.
  2. Sculpin Olive rocks on the 11pt...its a good match the abundant coldwater crawfish.Crawfish are incredibly abundant on the NFoW as well..but they are a golden tan not olive.
  3. Tim were do your stand on the Arkansas Trout issue? USFWS has defunded the Norfork National Fish Hatchery again. The pol's, trout guides, and dock owners are all up in arms about it. Do you think its possible for a sustainable wild trout fishery down there? Radical culture shift required of course....but possibe or not? My buddy Bob Heine seems to be the only one speaking in favor of wild fish down there.
  4. I hear that they hybridize with brown trout.
  5. Depends, I always want the possibility of a big fish, native or not. But big is relative depending on the fishery and the species. The actual catching part...nice when it happens, but the people, places, and memories you aquire are far more important than the fish. If I only wanted big fish...I'd fish lakes for bass, and tailwaters for trout...but I dont enjoy either of those activities very much..I just dont like the atmosphere.

    He's no Bill Clinton.
  7. 1/32 is a bit light for the 11pt or NFoW..I'd be looking in the 1/16-1/4oz range...unless you want to drift em under a bobber. Our host Phil Lilley is and expert jig fisherman by all accounts...and he sells em..... Have fun.
  8. I've distilled it down a bit....you only need a couple flies. Gaines Sneaky Pete..chartruese...#2...some Greg Coffey Sparkleminnows...#4 on a 3x streamer hook..Brown, Olive...and Pearl.....a sparkle will usually out fish a clouser...3 to 1. then theres that darn Shenks white streamer..looks like nothing but it catches better than most of the tarted up jigs that Kelly Galoup peddles. Have fun Walter.
  9. Could do the 11pt section...it starts up above Greer someplace and heads back up the hill at Hurricane creek...Some of the best rainbow water in the state. Might not be great now that the PI is out...Have fun.
  10. You will be several miles above the trout water...but there are smallmouth to be caugth up there...Kelly is off of CR 365 on the other side of the river.
  11. NIce find...I havent seen one since last Saturday. Cant say that I've ever seeded a patch...but I toss the bad ones and trimmings in likely looking spots w/o morels....Think it takes years for the mycellium to grow.
  12. Very Nice build! Cant wait to see it on the water. A buddy of mine is building a 16-17' cedar strip chestnut prospector style canoe right now. Will see how it turns out.
  13. Cant go wrong with a zebra midge or scud...but make sure that the small ones are tied on a TMC 2499...standard down eye scud hooks smaller than size 14 make for lots of LDR's.
  14. I'm sure they can mail the winner a check & their Bag O' Banjo Minnows. Think I might do this.
  15. I'm not holding my breath for browns on the 11pt...or trout on the fishless stretch of the Current (Akers to Pulltite). I think that both stretches could be great trout fisheries but the Feds arent going to let it happen.
  16. Spent his last days filming & chasing tarpon on the fly with Hargrove's buddy Capt. Tom Shadley down near Chokolocksee. Not a bad way to go! Thinking if I had a couple days left...thats what I'd be doing!
  17. Hope that he has couple guide days on the river Styx before he reaches his final destination. Slainte! Jose Wejebe.
  18. Brown trout in the Eleven Point.....great habitat for them.
  19. Wouldnt hurt to have a few in the box...It might get you bit when they wont eat a rattling bait, or it might get you another bite or two after they stop eating your rattling bait.
  20. That looks awesome!
  21. There are suckers born every minute...but Its pretty hard to sell a home for $500,000 more than you paid for it these days, especially in the midwest..I might hit a few Californians and New Yorkers.....if so, I'm for it.
  22. P.Diddy for Poet Lariat!
  23. Think you've been censored PD...
  24. AT&T is good on the Upper Current, but not good on the NFoW..I can make a call from Sunburst most of the time...sometimes you have to drive up the hill. Just depends.
  25. We beat the tar out of the rod topic recently...take a gander at that thread in Smallmouth Talk.
