  1. Nope....I dialed that back allot.
  2. Dawt Mill is a place I avoid. That doctor wasted allot of money there and should rot in Hell for the trash palace he created.

    What's Cooking?

Posole tonight.Could not find the real deal dry or Chico’s Bush’s brand cans Hominy. Bought a whole flat.. Not quite ready yet, but broth is stellar!
  4. I'd be OK with folks planting egg boxes or fingerlings for a year or several. That stream did OK (but never great) with no rainbow trout stocking for 50 years. To be honest....I've caught 5-10 rainbows every day I've fished it since 2017. Fish are there. Not what it was, but it has never been great for size or numbers of rainbow trout. NFoW is a very special place and one of the most developed streams in the Ozarks, and that is it's biggest draw/problem IMO. It is still a millionaire's row...No trash properties like you see all over the Gasconade or Meramec. It is the MO version of the Holy Waters on the Ausable in Grayling,MI.
  5. The shenanigans that folks will do to snag spawning trout in the mouth....Yep, I’m guilty but the statute has run out. I’d rather hear from the Bade’s & Spencer’s about the condition of the NFoW as opposed to Al’s mystery man in the box. Have mystery man post up, let him out of the closet😀!
  6. Full throttle, and use it like you rented it!
  7. Brown trout do reproduce naturally on the Bull Shoals and Greer's Ferry tailwater. I'm not sure about the Norfork tailwater, and Taneycomo has temperature issues. Gateway TU is running an experiment. They put out a bunch of vibert boxes full of brown trout eggs in a spring creek that runs into to Huzzah a couple weeks ago. Will see what happens. We could probably have allot more wild rainbow trout fisheries in MO & AR, but you would need to get rid of the farm raised trout. Farm raised and stream born trout usually don't do well together to the detriment of the natives. Plus folks would complain about not being able to fish with cheese and keep a limit of slicks every time out.
  8. I'm in favor of planting trees, etc. and have donated money toward that end in the past. I am not in favor of stocking rainbow trout or rebuilding Dawt Mill Dam. It is a different fishery now...Where else can you catch a wild rainbow, brown trout, smallmouth, and a striper on the same float trip? Maybe just encourage folks to FISH FOR, KEEP & EAT those stripers and walleye. The stripers are there in decent numbers. Hooked a really nice one right below Kelly Ford last summer.
  9. Boat rentals are available on most. If you want to learn fishing electronics, I would take several guide trips to do just that. Young kids will just want a pontoon and a tube you can drag them around on. Older ones will want a PWC.
  10. Think get everyone healthy....and they could go the distance again. They do not need a win. Might want to kick butt and intimidate though.
  11. Almost time to pack the tent, load the canoe, and go trout fishing.. Not quite cold enough yet.
  12. Just want to go outside. Float, fish, smile and laugh! Hope you get to do that allot!
  13. Better off returning it for $$$ IMO.
  14. Prefer my local shops...T. Hargrove & Denny Dennis. Bullseye is nice too, but I'm rarely in O'Fallon. Paul's Bait & Tackle used to be THE shop, but I think they finally closed the doors.
  15. You can buy a new in box old green 1970’s model for about $25 TYD. Today’s culture has no idea about what you can do with a thermos bottle. Hot cup of soup, after sitting in the woods, looking at no deer with my dad. Jack Carny(sp) Saturday AM show on the way to/from home. Used to play old radio comedies. Amos & Andy, Laurel & Hardy, Jack Benny. Good times! BTW, a blue and white folding chairs are not a good deer hide. Was what we had, and we killed deer from them,

Nice trip, then home to this.
  18. Who is Todd? LOL!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pKeTHbTxHU
  19. I thought that Todd (White Snoop) fished with minnows. Minnow guys can gut hook a 100 in a day really easy.
  20. Think the pass is good for a year. At least it used to be.
  21. Usually see a bunch of OA regulars past & present whenever MSA has a program. Heard of nothing going this year.
  22. Nobody has ever believed Al's measurements. Have Mitch measure your fish! He said this one was 19.75" and I thought it was no more than an 18.5". MSA Cover Shot.pdf

    Squirrel?

You guys are way more into the airgun stuff...Used to shoot competition archery with my Dad...He was way deep in the weeds with it, but he taught me to shoot the same thing, same way every time. Do it the same, same it is easier to figure out what is wrong. Do have a CharliedTuna replacement trigger in my popgun. Was worth it...Gonna pass on the blue gun piston seals...Mine is doing fine as is, right now...Do not want to change a thing.
  24. I always catch better fish, when I fish alone.
