  1. Rigged their rods and filled a couple boxes today. Watch out fish!
  2. Musky & Pike like slack water & structure.Wood, weeds. Big dumb fish mostly. Just gotta find them, will usually eat a big buck tail 1/2 a chicken streamer but little 3-4" snacks work too. Just gotta find them, they want to eat. Some 30lb + flouro or wire bite tippet helps. Gar are easier. You can sight fish to them usually. Would head north if you want Pike or Musky. They are stocked here, but better bets up north.
  3. Something you like to do,& looks like the folks had fun! Not my speed but good to you guys!
  4. They swinging bridge on Tavern Creek is pretty cool. Think that's in Iberia, but havenot been through there in awhile. More green bass than brown ones the two times I floated it. Nice creek, but would rather fish the Piney or Gasconade. Good for them, that's a huge Redhorse.
  5. There can be good money in fly fishing collectables, but the market has been flat for a long time. You could have this one for allot less. 2.75" with a good 3wt line on it.
  6. Not made anymore, Bogdan died 10 yrs ago or so. It's collectible value is certainly higher than it's functional value.
  7. Diameter and weight please. A tackle dealer friend might be able to move it. Any interest in an older Ari Hart? Caged reel with a 3wt on it. The 1950's Hardy LRH I bought from you years ago is still fishing.
  8. I bill 1/2 rate for the drive, plus mileage, full rate for the meeting,, 1/2 for for any other time up to 8hrs a day. Pretty sure their controller runs all of the Lake expenses through various companies, but I am not required to ask. Just get a bunch of trial balances and prepare tax returns based on the info they give me and they attest too it. Darn good billing.
  9. Go boating with a client on his 40' occasionally. Rides great. Would not want to be out there in a smaller boat.
  10. Not sure if Cane Bluff is open either. Water level is good so should be good from Greer on down. Was barely a trickle flowing on the river side when we camped at the Greer confluence in January. Would call Brian and ask.
  11. You need Tiffany's not Jared to get away with that. A new kitchen might help.
  12. Just busy FW, you did not inflict any stress. It's Tax Season, do the hard stuff, train the JR's, communicate with the customers.. If I post here I'm on a thinking break.
  13. Think I'll get a barrel band gizmo too. Stock part is a POS, as were the iron sights. Would love an adjustable peep and an adjustable front sight post on a reasonably priced air rifle. Just like the old USMC issue M16-A2's I used to qualify with. Prefer good irons over a scope. More reliable and just as accurate if you know how to use them.
  14. Mine is a little bent up, but here's a pic
  15. Many states & countries offer, daily, 3 day, weekly licences as opposed to annual. Canada offers a conservation license at half price, to a full limit license. You get 1/2 the limit if you want to eat fish while there but half the price. You won't go hungry on a half limit.
  16. Looks like the front sling mount on my Benjamin should work or file to fit. Mine is already bent, order extra. The pellet gizmo is a good idea but have been happy with the pellet pens from pyramid.
  17. I got the CBR trigger, think it would fit your new toy but pull the action and look first. Just 3 screws holding it to the stock.
  18. Had small hail at the office for a bit , then sunshine, then snow.
  19. The Charlie D Tuna trigger did wonders for my Benjamim NP2. $30 bucks and a month wait, but it's a tack driver now. 10-15 minutes to install.
  20. I'd call Harvey's and have them drop you, and pick you up. Leave your vehicles at their place.
  21. Thanks, yes that is bamboo. Just a stick of grass made into a fishing pole. Takes a big 12' long 2-3" diameter piece to start, but you should get 2 rods out of that. Pieces get smaller as you go. Some specialty tooling is involved, but it gets shared by those who have it in the STL area.
  22. My Ned & Canoe topwater caster. No frills, just function.
  23. Actually had the inspiration to clear off my workbench today. 40-60 more hours of work and I might have another one like this. Built it for my late friend Roy Cleveland a long time ago. Glad someone did not turn it into a tomatoe stake. Got it back from another friend (Joe Weber) who buys & sells this kinda stuff. Rarely do trim wraps, but this rod has a bunch. The thread is fine silk which goes translucent under varnish.

    What's Cooking?

That Poke looks great. Have had rolled ice cream. Pretty neat to see them make it on those cold plates but thought it was kinda pricey. To busy to cook much this time of year, so went out for Asian at Mai Lee in Brentwood. Everything was great. App sampler had a little open flame grill on it for the chicken & beef. Kids loved BBQ at your table. The pho #9 was awesome, and whatever my wife ordered was great too. Interesting menu. Vietnamese, Thai, and Traditional Chinese, even St Paul Sandwiches.
  25. Lady fish are a ball. Have saved allot of DIY SW trips over the years. Buddies dad was a King Mac fanatic. Wicked fight but lots of trolling mostly. Don't have the patience for that.
