  1. Head North if you want that kind of action. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Canada. Lots of big stupid smallmouth.
  2. Water sprayers do work. Helped allot at Lake Havasu years ago.
  3. That is a huge black drum...redfish are nice too. Good for you!
  4. Millennial carp are small. Big fat white white bellies. When they stick their dicks out it looks like an itty bitty light switch.
  5. Carp on the line!
  6. Think the NPS closes the bathhouse on Oct. 1 but you could call & check...Might try Echo Bluff SP...its just up the road from Round Spring. Hard to get a reservation there though.
  7. Good for you guys! Thanks for the report!
  8. Seems fair to me...$75, 8 hours of fishing, $9.38 per hour for a single, $4.69 per hour for two.
  9. Have watched several decline in their physical abilities. Still take them out but make it easy for them. Gear provided, food too. Set up their tent cot etc. They taught you so payback is no BFD.
  10. There is usually a brass hook on the gravel guard that hooks to your boot laces. Does just fine. 0rder the boots a little bigger than normal, but try on if you can. Wear an 11 usually get a 12 in wader boots.
  11. Have not used neoprene waders since Gore-Tex waders arrived on the market. They really are better in freezing cold temperatures. Layer up, and make sure your boots aren't too tight.
  12. The Bade's are great folks, should be good.
  13. Good luck! Would ask Justin & Amy for latest info.
  14. Agree with Andy. Browns are usually more common from the falls on down. Best option now is probably Sunburst to their property about a mile below old James bridge. The new bridges are near completion at James & Hammond so more float options will be available soon.
  15. Sounds like fun! Thanks for the report.
  16. Phil is correct. They have a hard time sampling the bigger fish. The field only goes so deep, and the big ones often flee ahead of the boat. Have sampled with MDC before.
  17. 20 is no big deal at night if you have the gear. Still warm enough for a light 40 degree bag now. Below freezing expected I'll break out the -20, and make sure I have fresh dry clothes and a hat on before bed. Biggest Thermarest you can find always.
  18. I like shiny new to me toys, they make me happy. Have only had one brand new vehicle, and one brand new boat in my lifetime though. I'm cheap when it comes to boats & vehicles. I prefer to buy lightly used for cash preferably. Let someone else take the initial hit to value.
  19. You would have to ask Tom or Craig. Would take to Cabela's first, see if they will exchange for a new pair....If they want to ship back, I'd go to Tom because your turnaround time will be quicker.
  20. Well for dink rainbows by all reports, big Browns are still there, but lots of dinks running interference. Some logs to negotiate between Baptist & Parker if floating.
  21. As FW said, spray with isopropyl alcohol from the outside then look inside. If in STL take them to Hargrove's they will troubleshoot & fix them for you for a small fee.
  22. You could plug the smoker into another outlet and see if that one gets hot. If it does, the problem is the smoker, not the outlet. If it does not its the outlet or the wiring leading to the outlet that you are currently using. Would call an electrician to diagnose and replace the problem outlet regardless. Heat & Electricity do not mix.

    What's Cooking?

Gotta get some cashew chicken if your in Springfield.
  24. Trip to Ontario years ago. Had my Jeep stolen out of my buddies driveway. Found wrecked on St Louis Ave in the murder zone. Only 2 car break ins since then. Sucks when it happens. Usually once every couple years. Most just pop doors to see if it is unlocked. Will break your glass for 25 cents worth of change. Leave nothining.
  25. Probably have some. Will look. Had a whole box to distribute years ago, kept several.
