  1. The Boathouse Lake in Carondelet has bass, but mostly catfish and carp along with some bait robbing bluegill. I used to fish that lake all the time as a kid. The city has really improved the lake tremendously since then. I don't know the trout stocking schedule, but Boathouse does get trout, but it is in no way a clear lake. Just keep that in mind when deciding on what to use. DC
  2. Its crossed my mind more than a few times to build a boat, just need to get some time...
  3. Nope, not laughing......
  4. Might be interested, if you have it for a while and are willing to negotiate, let me know.
  5. Good job Steve, to you and your boy!! Happy to read stuff like this. I would like to get into tying eventually. Just not yet.....
  6. Good for you Tim, It is always good to see someone who is honest. There are many of us out there, I believe we outnumber the dishonest, but we all hear about the negative. I hope the one who lost it is reunited with this.
  7. Cool, Welcome. I have been quiet for a couple of weeks, but have been itching to find some.
  8. I second what Justin just said. I feel that if you do not have any bad feelings about taking a life, even for your well being, you are a cold person. It does get easier Harris, there are better ways to "harvest" your fish. But that being said, catfish are tough and they will do all they can to survive. I respect them for that.
  9. Straw Hat, Very sorry to hear about the damage, glad your ok, and the damage is minimal.
  10. GO CARDS!! And Congrats stlfisher to you and your wife. Sounds like a cool way to have a reception.
  11. Neat stuff
  12. The one who has a wet line... :-) couldn't resist.
  13. Where is Hargroves? (guess I could google it, but wheres the fun in that )
  14. If I'm thinking right, upstream from the dam was marked off as Catch and Release only. I have only been once, and I did not get to know the whole park so I could be dead wrong.
  15. Recieved in the mail, everything is as stated. Good bargain on the equipment. Thanks for the bonus lures!
  16. Graham cave state park has a couple, your better off going after it rains. It is west of st louis, not really sure if it is what your looking for. They are not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but they are natural.
  17. Very nice looking. I have mentioned before, but could you, or someone who knows about wild mushrooms, give us some kind of tips on what is good and how to use it? Maybe suggestions of where to look, and what to look for. When to look, and what to avoid. That soup looks amazing by the way.
  18. I always thought it was a felony to shoot while drunk. I don't want to keep anyone from having their guns, but I might mention this to the guy who was shooting toward my property. Or you could ask him to pay for the damages done (nicely), and if he hem haws around, you can suggest that you would be OK with filing a claim against his Homeowners insurance. But let him know that you know of an insurance agent (I am) and they told you that most claims are not appreciated by insurance companies, and denial or cancellation would be possible under the situation. Then as you all are discussing the "problem" you could come out as the peacemaker and say, something along the lines of " Well, If its all the same to you, I would be willing to forgive the current damage, but I need you to respect the bullets you shoot as you are responisble for the bullet from the time the primer lights the gun powder, until the bullet stops. When it crosses the property lines, it becomes a problem, and my property gets damaged. I am not comfortable with that." In any rate, as has been mentioned, it is not a good situation to be in.
  19. Ness, I noticed the same thing with the gun ads, and NRA ads. On the Kayak themed posts, I get alot of kayak ads, etc. It is kinda spooky, that there is so much that others can see.
  20. Good day.
  21. I think it is unknown to many. I read about it in a local paper about a year ago, but it was very vague. Until JDMIDWEST mentioned it in one of his posts, I had all but forgot about it.
  22. Good post, thanks Tom. Hope it works better for you sooner than later.
  23. I am new to Geocahing, I have 4 Finds in the St Louis/Jefferson County area. For those who don't know what it is, Geocaching is a free real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS and can then share their experiences online. ( Copied from www.geocaching.com) Caches can be difficult and sometimes easy to find, they can be underground, in the air and underwater. I have found kids caches and a couple film container (micro) caches. I go by sk8er96 on the website.
