  1. First I've heard of the bar code. Sounds kinda neat. If you look for videos about GeoCaching, you gan get some ideas about how to look for micros. They can be tough, but right in front of you at the same time.
  2. I thought by the way brochure reads, some are cnr until feb, while others you can keep. Did I read it wrong?
  3. As of yet, 11:30 am, it has not been reported.
  4. Seen that on your report, that is really cool that you were able to see and take pics of it. Could not tell the size by your pic, 20 inches is wild. I would probably be a little intimidated by it had I not read about it for the last 6 years or so in the fishing regs booklets.
  5. Heard that on the radio this morning. Good stuff. The reporter was saying that they could reach 24 inches. Thats one large salamander.
  6. Gramps, your right, they would last a little longer than o'rings, but that kit seems a bit expensive. There are videos on youtube that show how to use an empty marker or highlighter tube to apply the o'rings just the same as the applicator in this kit. You can get an o'ring kit for little or nothing at any local hardware store in the plumbing aisle. After a few releases your bait is going to be used up anyhow.... sure the saddle will still be usable but is it worth the price? Your call. Good thread by the way.
  7. Glad you came out of it alright. Sorry to hear of it just the same.
  8. Looks/sounds like a good time.
  9. Thanks Blazer, Have you been to this lake before? Looks like a neat place to go after a trip to Bass Pro/ Cabellas to try new equipment....
  10. The Boathouse Lake in Carondelet has bass, but mostly catfish and carp along with some bait robbing bluegill. I used to fish that lake all the time as a kid. The city has really improved the lake tremendously since then. I don't know the trout stocking schedule, but Boathouse does get trout, but it is in no way a clear lake. Just keep that in mind when deciding on what to use. DC
  11. Its crossed my mind more than a few times to build a boat, just need to get some time...
  12. Nope, not laughing......
  13. Might be interested, if you have it for a while and are willing to negotiate, let me know.
  14. Good job Steve, to you and your boy!! Happy to read stuff like this. I would like to get into tying eventually. Just not yet.....
  15. Good for you Tim, It is always good to see someone who is honest. There are many of us out there, I believe we outnumber the dishonest, but we all hear about the negative. I hope the one who lost it is reunited with this.
  16. Cool, Welcome. I have been quiet for a couple of weeks, but have been itching to find some.
  17. I second what Justin just said. I feel that if you do not have any bad feelings about taking a life, even for your well being, you are a cold person. It does get easier Harris, there are better ways to "harvest" your fish. But that being said, catfish are tough and they will do all they can to survive. I respect them for that.
  18. Straw Hat, Very sorry to hear about the damage, glad your ok, and the damage is minimal.
  19. GO CARDS!! And Congrats stlfisher to you and your wife. Sounds like a cool way to have a reception.
  20. Neat stuff
  21. The one who has a wet line... :-) couldn't resist.
  22. Where is Hargroves? (guess I could google it, but wheres the fun in that )
  23. If I'm thinking right, upstream from the dam was marked off as Catch and Release only. I have only been once, and I did not get to know the whole park so I could be dead wrong.
