  1. Yeah you're probably right. I mean, in all seriousness I run a 2-stroke business, so my shop gets heavily FOGGED on a daily basis.
  2. Spiders that size are more threatening to me than a grizzly bear. I hate them.
  3. I radically bombed the place last night and fully expected to see several dead ones laying around this morning......but nope, none.
  4. I don't mind freely admitting..... that I wouldn't know a Snail Darter if one swam up into my penis while I was taking a leak. Sounds like something that A-hole Ham, or ol'whatshisface from Columbia, would pursue. 🀣
  5. Creek/River smallies are too easy on "gear". To the point that it's basically childsplay. I find that flyfishing for them is way more satisfying. At least it makes it a challenge. For the life of me I can't understand guys like @Al Agnew that are truly good fishermen, that also are very proficient with fly gear......But yet choose not to flyfish for Smallies. Its a head-scratcher, but to each his own πŸ‘ I LOVE to fish.....but I really don't wanna catch 100+ fish everytime I go. If I did then I'd get bored with it. I don't understand Crappie fanatics either......"Tick"....reel them in....."Tick".....reel them in, ect. ect. ad-infinitumπŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« No fight, No jumps <sigh!> I mean, good God.....just shoot me! I'd rather stand under a street light and swat moths.
  6. Honestly, and I'm surprised to hear myself say this, but I feel that it's better now for both size & numbers than it has ever been since I moved to the "Ozarks" in 1989 I grew up catching Smallmouth in the Salt River tribs further north, and expected it to be SO MUCH BETTER when I moved to this part of the state......but I was rather disappointed. Smallmouth south of the big nasty Missouri river were fewer and much smaller than I was used to. And it actually made me wonder what all the bragging and glorified articles were about. It has gotten better in the "Ozarks" in the last 10-15 years though. Undeniably. And...... I don't think the rivers up north are as good now as they were when I was young and dumb, so NO I'll never move back ! 😊
  7. Nope, did not know that. Thanks for the lesson. So it isn't the males dying and falling from the rafters, because all of these are black, shiney, with the red hourglasses, and about the size of a dime. Why would the females be dying all of a sudden? I'm thrilled, but even more curious now.
  8. Over the last few days I've noticed 4-6 dead black widows just laying on the floor of my shop. Isn't there a thing with them where the female kills the male directly after they do the deed? Seems that I remember a lesson on that in the past. So, I'm freaking out wondering if I have Black Widows making love in the rafters of my shop ?😐 I'm setting off 4 fogger bombs in there tonite, but what else do I need to know? I can't tolerate a black widow infestation. NOOO WAY ! Not here !
  9. If both tires are wearing on the outside then you're "Toed-in". Clamp a pair of 4x4's across the frame directly above the axle and use a bottle jack to flex the axle into alignment. Use a tight string for a reference.
  10. Look at the size of the gizzard shad that biggun was holding! 😳 Bottle of MGD for reference
  11. They are 7'-9' and hugging the bottom up here. I'm just now figuring out how to get them to bite semi-consistently. Low & Slow with no fancy/darty strips or twitches. Perfect sport for a lazy dudeπŸ‘ The only thing I can get to chase and bite in the top 1/2 of the water column is the little runt yearling Whites. If you aren't catching catfish and drum occasionally then you're not gonna catch the bigger whites/hybrids/mutts.
  12. Yeah I know, Piper truly is a Leprechaun! πŸ˜… Having him in the boat is incredible good luck. πŸ‘
  13. The new rig is getting baptized proper πŸ‘
  14. You realize that they are playing a game, right ? That funding is going to be pissed away regardless, so groups of individuals might as well benefit from it. Pipe down and just take the money! If you don't then someone else certainly will.
  15. This is nothing but Lawyer food. Yes it's true that ignorance of the law is no excuse. But it is also true that NO CITIZEN is required to read newspapers every day, listen to the news on TV every night...taking notes as if there's a test tomorrow. Nor are they required to read their unregistered mail. Laws on numerous things, such as firearms, can change with the prevailing wind these days. Therefore unless a law has been in effect for a decade or more then you can NOT be convicted of breaking it unless you're a total idiot and blindly enter a plea. Or have recently signed something stating that you acknowledge that law.
  16. Why not put the lions where the feral hog problems are ?
  17. Speaking of bees....
  18. I'm not seeing any at all, still. πŸ‘
  19. That is some sad news πŸ˜” Thanks for letting us know.
  20. I've got one going in my back yard tooπŸ™„
  21. Sounds exactly like something they'd do. πŸ˜… https://www.ky3.com/2023/06/07/your-side-missouri-department-conservation-warns-impersonator-claiming-500-buffalo-are-being-shipped-you/?outputType=amp
  22. You're doing way better down there than I am up here. πŸ‘ Did they still have eggs and jizz in them? The ones up here do, they never were able to run up the creeks to spawn this Spring......and now I assume it's too late. Everything up this way is hot, still, and stagnant. Just some funky backwater coming up.
  23. I palm the reel because I pitch & flip alot, and the rod balances there. Plus I set the hook like I'm splitting wood. I gotta have a handful of something. 😁

    What's Cooking?

The vocabulary in many of your posts in this thread go way over my head. πŸ€” Now that one I understand πŸ‘ πŸ˜…
  25. All the baitcast reels have gone "Low-Profile" now, and I can't get used to that. Therefore I'm stuck with old 4500C's and either 5.3:1 or 6.2:1 for everything I use casting gear for. I can only enjoy using a low profile rig for about an hour......after that I just wanna throw it in the lake/river.
