  1. They disappear, hit buildings, crash in the Mississippi swamps, and for some odd reason they have a habit of falling out of the sky when rather famous individuals are aboard. 🤷‍♂️
  2. Statistics aren't a "thing", they are a compilation of other "things". The components of aircraft are THINGS, and things that fail.... typically do so while in use.......THAT fact is statistically proven.
  3. I have to have 3 (canoe, Jon boat, Bassboat) Plus a couple pairs of waders. I love all kinds of fishing.
  4. You'll never catch me on an airplane, jet, or helicopter, except for a dire emergency. I'm a mechanic, I see mechanical failures every day. Therefore I don't trust mechanical things to that degree....... And I especially don't trust mechanical things that are controlled by computers!
  5. I recognize the Tums and the Marlboro Lights. 🙂
  6. They are still staged out in the lake up here. 2 miles down from the mouth of the creek. My helper and I found loads of them. Caught a dozen decent ones and several dinks. All males. Blue/white Clousers on a 5ips sinking leader. All bites were in 6-8ft.
  7. Smiling like a $#!t eatin' possum 😁 I love it ! 👍🙂
  8. I wonder if MDC would be interested in buying back the ones I catch ? Might offset the fuel bill 🤔
  9. A buddy of mine is down there now within an hour of you. Here's some inspiration.....
  10. Yeah it kinda gets ridiculous. I have doodle worms for Lake Lanier in my boat......As if I plan to head for Georgia any time soon. 🙄
  11. Right! We specialize in bull$#!t detection. 😉
  12. Not quite. If I knew how to convince my wife of that.....then I would know EVERYTHING. 👍 We had a fight earlier today because her and Maddy were talking about contracting "bronchitis" from someone. I butted in and informed them that you can't GET bronchitis from someone. It's a CONDITION, not a transferrable disease. She Googled.....then got quiet......but never gave me credit for pointing out her ignorance. Typical! 🙄
  13. I've seen some very durable repairs done with interwoven tie-straps (zip-ties) and RTV silicone. Just drill 1/8" holes around the area, weave in the zip ties, cover with RTV, and slap a piece of milk carton or Anti-freeze jug over it (also stitched in with zip ties). Strong, flexible, effective.
  14. So do you notice a location pattern when trout are dumped into those tanks? Do they tend to gravitate towards rocks, wood, weeds, or just swim around suspended and haphazardly? Will they rise to a dry fly? I bet the turtles are anxious for the water to warm up. 😅
  15. Looks like the storage compartments of nearly every boat that comes in here. That would drive me crazy. Dollar General sells little baskets and containers in every shape, color, and size. For God's sake man...... Organize that mess !
  16. Cozy looking crib, and beautiful surroundings. Bet there's some crappie and catfish around that dock. Get busy ! 👍
  17. Anyone that makes a federal case out of occasional angler caused mortality has completely lost touch with reality. If they only knew....... 🙄
  18. Sugarbritches has taken up making cups and T-shirts. You need this one for your sweetie.
  19. I see 2 together, dead on the road, all the time. Inquiring minds wanna know......Did they get hit at the same time, or was one picking the pocket of a previously dead one.....and got hit too ?
  20. I've already heard the "plans". Just wondering if it's actually going to get done that way. Or if the plans for the hatchery are going to pan out like the plans for the bridge did. Might be best if it doesn't,. because the park & river have fished better WITHOUT a hatchery than it has for years WITH one.
  21. By golly he got one! 👍 The truly amazing part is that the bear went down within a stones throw. With all the power, accuracy, technology, and precision we have now..... I sure never had a bow kill go down that quickly.
  22. What was the alleged reasoning behind making it illegal to move crawdads over the hill ?
  23. Drought? When did we have a drought? I think that word has lost it's true meaning. I faintly remember a REAL drought in my lifetime, late 60's-early 70's. Pretty much anything smaller than a shotgun shell that got dropped on the ground was gone......never to be seen again. Because the cracks in the ground were 3' deep. I remember my mom throwing a hissy fit because she dropped her high-dollar cigarette lighter, and the ground was too hard & dry to even dig for it. Wasn't any "government bailouts" for farmers in those days either. The poorest families that I knew, growing up, were crop farmers. Man they really had it tough. Looking back I think it took them every bit of 10 years to recover from that.
  24. That's never a bad plan. Just don't assume that negates the need to quickly fill your lungs with air. 👍
  25. The first thing you should do as soon as you realize you are going into the water..... regardless of the temperature....is fill your lungs with air. Only takes 0.7 sec. There should be no room for water, or significant gasping. And your lungs are a superb flotation device. A carryover from Boy Scouts.
