  1. I had that going on at one time too. You need a tornado. That helps thin things down considerably. At least to a manageable level. 😅
  2. I don't even wanna talk about how many tackle boxes and waist packs I have. It's borderline ridiculous. I even have "surplus" boxes...... because everytime I get addicted to a certain bait the company suddenly stops producing them. 🙄
  3. I'm not saying that problems existed with the well because more than one home was being serviced by it. I'm saying that problems existed among PEOPLE.....that were a RESULT of the "shared well". In other words.....Had they each owned their own well, there would have never been any arguments, animosity, or hard feelings.
  4. This is inaccurate, at least in the wording. Piston to cyl. clearance is .005 .....PER EVERY INCH OF BORE ! A 3" cylinder will have .015 from the factory. Ring gap is the same.....for the SAME reason. Pistons (aluminum) transfer heat very rapidly. Expansion of a piston skirt, or piston head is an issue that isn't even truly considered in the design of a combustion engine. If it were then how would you explain ring pins? How do you think ring pins and wrist pins stay in place ?
  5. I wasn't calling you a liar, I was challenging the claim that your Opti had 800 actual hours worth of trouble free service. Do you realize how much water can be covered in 20 hours .... Much less 800 ? I'm doubting the accuracy of the ECU..... I'm not necessarily doubting what you were TOLD by the guy that pulled that data. You obviously missed this...... I'm always honest about what I know, and what I THINK I know. And I'm smart enough to know the difference. Sorry I hit a nerve, dude 🤷‍♂️ Is there anything that you know alot about....besides ME ?
  6. Every "shared well" story I've ever heard.....always had a sour ending. And that's all I have to say.... about that. 🙄
  7. That's impressive 👍......if true. But I'd sure challenge that claim. 🤔 But even if so, here's the thing.......The whole reason behind computer controlled DFI technology was to allow seamless operation & clean emissions during all circumstances. I must tell ya that if I had to sit and idle until my 1986 Evinrude XP (that is still on its original powerhead BTW) reached 120° before taking off everytime.....I wouldn't be fishing much during the coarse of a day. I'd be sitting there idling all day. Metal & aluminum really doesn't change integrity much between 60 & 120 degrees, and in a DFI system neither does fuel atomization..... or lubrication . Just out of curiosity....how many of those 800 Opti-hours do ya reckon were spent sitting at the ramp......or waiting to warm up before moving to a different fishing area ? 😅 The Verado has to take twice as long.... because it has a gallon of oil to WARM UP too. Am I making sense to anyone? If not I'll just STHU 🙂
  8. I was under the impression that Suckers were your table fare of choice. 🤔 I thought that was what the "No Roll Sinkers" and all that jazz was about. No?
  9. So much for being "off the grid". 😔
  10. Nice BOAT. I'm no "expert" on the DFI Merc's. I've tried but pretty much given up. And any tech that claims to be.....is probably lying. If you can get it bought for a price that allows you to repower within 2 years without being completely upside down in it financially, then it's certainly worth considering. Of course this is dependant on whether or not it currently has the original powerhead on it. The majority of 2014-2016 Opti's have already blown the original powerhead......and will likely blow again within 300 hrs. It's as if they are programmed/designed to do so. 🤷‍♂️
  11. You are obviously living right if the driveshaft splined ok doing it that way. Nevertheless....... Perfect job! 🍻
  12. Marking your shift linkage with a dot of fingernail polish helps. I do this on all Merc and Yamaha shift rods.
  13. Bumping the prop (even slightly) in the wrong direction will default the gearcase to Neutral. The reason you want it in FWD. is so you can muscle the prop counter-clockwise to spline the driveshaft. Just DON'T let the prop shaft spin clockwise, even the least little bit, or you'll kick it out of FWD. I know it sounds confusing.....but once you understand how the shift mechanism works it makes perfect sense.
  14. Remove the lower unit AGAIN 😂 Put the shift control in forward gear. Manually put the gearcase in forward gear. (Verify by turning the driveshaft clockwise...... the prop shaft should turn clockwise when you do). At this point.....if you weren't turning the driveshaft clockwise as you pushed the water pump housing over the new impeller.....Remove the housing and do so, to properly align the impeller blades. Failing to do that will cause reduced water pressure and premature impeller failure. Now, reinstall the lower unit, aligning the water tube first, then the driveshaft splines, and finally the shift linkage. Once the gearcase is fully drawn up to the exhaust housing, verify that it is still in forward gear.....and that it didn't get bumped back into neutral (prop should not freely spin). Then, Shift the controls into neutral and verify that the gearcase is also in neutral (prop should spin freely now). Grab a beer and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. 👍
  15. Legal definition could be anything from a tire tube to a drift boat.
  16. Channel cat up to about 3 lbs. are good. Not my favorite fish to eat, but not my least favorite by far. Had that blue been about that size it probably would have been better, but it was considerably larger and just wasn't very good. My girls, who all love to eat fish, didn't care for it either. So it wasn't just me. We'd have gladly traded it for a bologna sandwich.
  17. You ain't a woofin' 👍 I can't get myself to let loose of either of these. I feel stupid when it's time to put new tires on them......but bygod they just WORK, and don't show any signs of giving up anytime soon.
  18. Remember back in the day, when you were temporarily acting like a supreme butthead? Well, you ran him off. 😂 I miss him too 😢
  19. The reviews on it are good, and I've studied all there is to know about it,......but this thing is weak. Maybe defective? I dunno, but it's worthless.
  20. My daughter does Auto-Renew. I prefer a piece of paper sealed in packing tape. I don't always have my phone in my pocket, and I don't wanna spend any more time hanging out with the dude than is absolutely necessary. The gas station that I stop at daily still sells printed permits. I'm old school.
  21. I bought Orion one of these today Spent 3 hours setting it up, and another 2 hours trying to gently teach him about where his boundaries are without letting him get zapped too hard. Decided it was time to cut him loose......and THERE HE WENT! Took 45 minutes to coax him back into the yard. Got pissed and set the stupid thing to MAX, walked him over to the boundary and he crossed it totally unscathed. I pulled the collar off, spit on my hand, grabbed the probes, and it felt weaker than a 9v transistor battery. Set on the highest setting, mind you. Give me a break 🙄 Grabbed my Voltmeter from the shop and tested the voltage....... 6.2v. Are you kidding me? That wouldn't stop a squirrel, much less this high-powered hound. I want my 266.00 back ! What a waste of time!
  22. A friend of my daughters has a pair of Ultra High Dollar foo-foo dogs. They are dumber than a box of rocks, and uglier than a muddy 4-wheeler. Makes me wonder..... What's the point?
  23. Would seem to me that if you're setting traps where lots of people (whether Thieves or Preachers) are commonly walking around them.....then your results are likely to suck anyway. The guys I know that did a lot of trapping just accept the fact that they are gonna lose a few occasionally. Hell, they own enough traps to fill a dump truck with them. I don't ever remember them fretting over losing a few. I coon hunted with them some, but they never wanted COMPANY when running their traps......so I never learned much about it.
  24. I don't know much about trapping, but the guys I've known that did/do never had a problem collecting critters.
