  1. Oh I know. The new outboards are the same way. Wouldn't have a new one even if I could afford it. What's next? Lawnmower's and chainsaws?
  2. They can't admit that the REAL problem is COMPUTERS. Mechanical machines are far more dependable, and easier to repair when there is a problem. Everything on this freaking vehicle is controlled by a blasted computer of sorts. Even the GD headlights/dome lights/dash lights.....for crying out loud.
  3. That dude smokes some good weed. πŸ˜…
  4. I'm with ya 100% Crappie and walleye taste like whatever you breaded them in. There may be a little protein there, but flavor-wise you might as well just be eating hushpuppies. Trout are good, foil baked in a campfire, mostly because you are starving and that just happens to be what's for dinner. πŸ˜… A couple of hotdogs would be equally satisfying. I kept and cooked wild trout, expecting that they'd be so much better than the white meat stockers I had eaten many times before.......but No, not really. White bass & Stripers, whether fried or baked.....really hit the spot for me. Delicious πŸ˜‹
  5. The fact that those kinds things don't work has never stopped them before. Shall we begin a list of mandatory things that do nothing but cost us money and over-complicate our lives? πŸ™„
  6. All of the most popular movies have to include scenes of people getting shot, or killed in some drastic fashion. This is what it takes to entertain people. Society is sick ! πŸ™„
  7. Yeah, I'm almost always slighty disappointed in the way trout tastes, regardless of how it's prepared . Canned Tuna is consistently good, whether in a casserole, croquettes, or a salad sandwich. 😊 They sure are fun to fish for though.
  8. Let's rate them. Here's my scoring.... #1. Salmon #2. White bass #3. Bluegill. #3. Walleye. #4. LM Bass. 5. Crappie. 6. Canned Tuna. 7. Trout. 8. Catfish. 9. Sucker. 10. Cod (or whatever it is) from LJS.
  9. Me too, brother. I am so not a fan of everything being computerized. I want mechanical things that I can SEE, Diagnose issues with, and work on. And of course almost all new outboards and I/O's are going to DTS (Digital Throttle & Shift) nowadays. I'll not be working on them or owning them. Big brother wants it that way so they can shut down drug smugglers and "terrorists" from a satellite in space.
  10. Yeah it is! The first time it happened Amber and I was at Bennett by the bathrooms. I was really glad nobody was walking behind the car. I kinda wondered if my wading boot wasn't partially on the accelerator.....but I really didn't think it was. Today it happened again while heading out of our gravel driveway. I stood on the brake and turned the key off as quickly as I could. Restarted, and of course all was well. Quite the eye-opener.
  11. I just went out and checked....and it was ON . (Not in the OFF position) I never considered that. I never EVER use cruise control. Do ya reckon........? But pushing on the brake is SUPPOSED to shut it down, isn't it? Cuz it didn't, either time.
  12. Here's the thing though......The accelerator pedal or any associated linkage isn't "sticking" (That would be something I could diagnose & fix right away). No. Imagine setting there at idle, in gear, with your foot on the brake, nothing touching the accelerator pedal, and suddenly for no reason the RPM's go up drastically. Or shifting into gear and suddenly the engine tries to go to 4000 rpm before you even touch the accelerator pedal. And that 5.3 has enough power to easily push through the anti-lock brakes....even in 2wd. If it was in 4-high or 4-LO there'd be no stopping it, short of quickly turning the key off. This is a potentially serious thing. The throttle control isn't mechanical (no cable or linkage) it's all sensor/computer controlled. And not a single fault code is stored on the ECM except for a tire pressure monitor code.
  13. MDC, as I was told, once (and they might be still doing it) injected a growth hormone (HGH) into walleye.....and then released them either below Wappapello or below Clear lake. I can't imagine that eating those fish would be good for ya.
  14. This has happened twice now, in 2 years, and I'm afraid to let my wife or anyone else drive this thing until I can cure the problem. Did an internet search but only found this.... https://www.tahoeforum.com/threads/it-just-accelerates-for-no-reason-tahoe-is-possessed.5578/ which is the exact same issue I'm experiencing, but no tips on how to diagnose or resolve it. I would assume that it's a TPS problem. I called my auto mechanic dude, and all he had to offer was....."Hmm, Wow, yeah I dunno". So apparently it's not a common issue, but it could result in a really bad day if I don't get it rectified properly, and as soon as possible.
  15. He really did do a nice jobπŸ‘ Looks great! How much did that set ya back ?
  16. Looks fishy πŸ‘. Wonder what those tungsten coneheads weigh ? Had Piper weigh a few tungsten beads the other day. 7/64 (2.8,mm) is 1/100oz. and 1/8 (3.3mm) is 1/80oz. They were heavier than I thought.
  17. Years ago we caught 2 big flatheads from the Missouri river, just up from the confluence of the Osage. When dressing them out the smell of the meat was odd, reminded me of diesel fuel. And one of them had a really swollen stomach. I cut it open, and inside the stomach was a 15" long piece of what appeared to be plastic coated foam weatherstripping. We couldn't get over the fact that the meat smelled like diesel.....so we pitched it in the woods. 2 days later it was still there. Not even a coon/possum/buzzard wanted to eat it.
  18. I'm skeptical anytime someone, especially the government, is adamant about freely teaching me something that I never inquired about in the first place. Why don't they freely teach us how to save money on our taxes?.....or other helpful & life saving topics? Noooo, you have to study and dig deeply for THAT kinda information. They don't care about the welfare of you or your children unless it benefits THEM in some way. "We want you to know if you have Covid. And we care about you SO MUCH that we want to pay for your tests.". Yeah RightπŸ™„. GTFOH. Even if it is an admission of culpability, it's still questionable.
  19. I don't think so. There's only one person besides me that could have. We are on the same page, and she was equally perplexed. Borderline offended actually.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Even asked me if she should throw them in the trash, or keep them. I told her to give them to one of the neighbors who go get a Covid test everytime they find themselves reaching for a tissue.
  20. Pretty hard, these days, to consume the proteins and vitamins that you need to survive .......without getting a dose of something that is potentially harmful. The fact that most of us are grossly overweight from eating too much.....yet we are still alive......speaks volumes. "These things, if consumed, can kill you!". Really? Yikes!.......but WHEN? Which brings up another curiosity/inquiry. --- Out of the blue, and for no reason at all, we received 4 free Covid tests in the mail last week πŸ€”. Did EVERYONE get those, or just those of us who have no record of ever getting the vaccine?
  21. Appreciate it, but I've already got 6 unfinished projects ongoing. I have no business starting another right now. I would like to know what the body material is on that Fish Candy though.
  22. Hey, that's pretty sexy! -------, I knew that I shoulda got in on this. 😏
  23. Be glad you don't. Because I do, and everytime I walk through an apple orchard it picks them up and shoves them up my butt.
  24. Yeah, sadly I don't think a million leeches could have kept 46 years of breathing gypsum dust from turning his throat & lungs into concrete. All of the old hands from AP Green brick plant died of the same thing. 😒
  25. Purty ! πŸ‘
