House moves to repeal the Pittman-Robertson act.
fishinwrench replied to Gavin's topic in Conservation Issues
I've tried, but I simply don't have the ability. Thoughts come into my head.....and before they can be processed they immediately fall down and spill right out of my mouth. 🤷♂️ -

Oh no, it's contagious! If me or one of my associates gets put in the doghouse........then we ALL go. All it takes is a single text message or a phone call. 🙄 I think it's called "networking". Everyone in the loop must tow the line. This is why I choose my friends carefully! -

Once again it has spun out into left field. (Purposeful Confusion) We started out concerned about wildlife conservation funding......and now we are bickering over Gun Control. This is why nothing ever gets done properly, and never makes any sense. It's like doing a home improvement project with my wife. "It's great that you found a good deal on screen doors, honey.....but in the end it's gonna cost 400.00 apiece to install them, and there will be at least 3 fights where nobody gets laid for a week, and we have to eat Vienna Sausage's for dinner". -
I don't think I fed off into the political topics that much. Now Religion ☝️ I've always had trouble avoiding those topics, but I'm gradually getting better. 😇 I'm one of the few you'll ever meet that gets all giddy and excited when the JW's start walking up the driveway. 🤩 "Ahhh, Fresh Meat!!! "

Well if the move, effort, change, or whatever you wanna call it, is aimed at protecting 2A rights, then what's the problem? I thought everyone here was pro 2A. -
Well, protruding googly's displace water, and add a bit more buoyancy. I know for a fact that adding them to a Crease fly will turn a boring Crease fly into a mini Zara Spook.

There I go???? There I go what? I'm afraid that MoCarps post about the firearms agreement in Australia just confuses me more. Par for the course...... Let's create confusion first and foremost. 🙄 -
I knew you'd eventually come around 👍😁 I'm not sure if they work right if they are down inside a recess. Hmmm 🤔 Do they protrude out some? I'm convinced that the googly effect has merit. It's a real thing! 🤟

If they are likely to die anyway...... someone might as well have them for dinner. Screw the turtles ! 😅 Come to think of it......LOTS of turtles near boat ramps, moreso than anywhere else on the lake. I'm sure there's a reason for that...... don't ya reckon?

If you don't mind, I'm trying to learn something here. Nobody is slinging mud.......yet. Well, I mean Gavin slung a little AT ME.....but I'm not offended by it. -

So tons of wasteful spending should be allowed to continue......as long as a few pounds go towards the alleged intended purpose? Who confirmed that they have no intention to replace the PRA with anything that benefits wildlife conservation? Who said, "to hell with the wildlife"? I bet nobody has that agenda. Making honest efforts to curtail wasteful spending is what y'all elected these people to do !!!! -

Who? Me? I'm just trying to form an honest, somewhat educated opinion. just because you paint something red doesn't convince me that it's an apple. 🤷♂️ I mean we're talking about something created though Congress for crying out loud. -

So, the ones in favor of PR can prove that the money has always been going where it is supposed to go, and has always been doing what it was designed to do...... but they want to take it away regardless ? What is the reason they are basing their decision on ? -
How much for those 3 shaddy looking ones? 😉

Well, if the reason for the move to repeal it is because they can't show that the money is going where it is supposed to go...... then the house repubs are on the ball. 👍 -
Looking good 👍 I've been Dremel Sculpting some cork popper bodies. I wish you lived next door so we could get a production line going. 😁

There's a tracking study still going on in Oklahoma, and the results appear to be strategically kept relatively under wraps. Why they are being kept from going viral is pretty obvious. 🙄 As I understand it, a larger percentage than I even expected are found dead within 6-9 days, and NOT FLOATING. With 3+pounders being the first to expire, and -2 pounders being the last to die.... and most likely to actually survive beyond the life of the battery (which is just shy of a month). Of course you have a certain group that insists that attaching the tracking device (about 1/32oz). is the reason they are dying and sinking. So WTFever. Hook a crappie jig to a floater and see if it sinks. 😅

Check the other lakes, the number of regatta permits for bass tournaments is just as rediculous....if not moreso.
-
As soon as the warranty expires they'll be as cheap as a 10 year old bicycle.
-
None of this was even an issue to be concerned about 20 years ago because there were less than 5 tournaments per month on the lake. Take a look NOW! https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again 87 regatta permits issued for June alone, here on LO. I mean, Holy Mother of God !!!!! 😳 I'll ask everyone again......If it isn't excessively out of control now, then at what point would you agree that it was?

It used to be considered unethical, actually shameful, to "guide" on stocked water, or from MDC river access areas. But that code kinda just dissolved. 🤔

Heck yeah, when they fire up and run right it's euphoric. It's when they DON'T that causes all the bad feelings. 😅
