When I was a kid my mom took us to the doctor if we got ill or needed medical attention......and would just write them and the pharmacy a check to settle it on our way out. And the amount was reasonable. Guess what? Doctor visits don't work like that anymore. I'm surprised that you, especially since your procedure, didn't know that. You're talking to a guy that got charged 114k just to be told that I had RMSF. Guess what? I never paid it, never followed through with the 14k per year treatments, and the bling to my credit score just recently fell off.....which is why YOU'RE insurance is so high. Sorry 'bout that.....but that was absolutely rediculous. Do I still have RMSF? Should have, but who knows? If I do it hasn't kept me from doing anything I want/need to do. How many days did you spend in the hospital? I was only there for 45 minutes. 🤔 Was given a 1/2 of a blood pressure pill, a MRI, and had some blood work. That's it for 114.000.00

Explain to me why MDC thinks that people who don't bother with the bluegill, bass, crappie, or catfish in those city parks.....will suddenly become all fired up about FISHING if they throw some trout in there? I just don't get it. I mean I understand that since MDC gets their beloved sales tax cut, that they feel obligated to do SOMETHING for all the city people that don't hunt/fish...... But can't they think of something else that doesn't take away from the White-Red ribbon trout water program that they sold us on years ago? People fishing for trout in those ponds are not experiencing "Trout fishing". Not even close. Doesn't MDC understand that there's more to the experience than just having a trout on your line instead of a bass or catfish? That urban trout program is not only stupid and wasteful, it's a blatant slap in the face to everyone that has a love for trout fishing and what trout fishing is about. If they wanna do something really cool, then allow a full month of monkey and tiger hunting at the STL zoo. Being able to legally explode the head of a monkey would make my life complete. I'd gladly pay 100.00/yr. for a hunting/fishing permit if I could do that every year right before Christmas.

The main reason I generally dislike tailwaters is because techniques designed for riffle/run/pool type fisheries (rivers) just aren't very effective. Tailwaters fishing, IMO, is more tailored to bobber fishing (ie: soaking a scud/midge) and fishing streamers, or jigs on spinning gear. After pretty much avoiding tailwater stuff for years I have recently started enjoying fishing Taney during low flows with streamers, soft hackles, and dry flys. Now THAT is fun. I can only stare at a bobber for so long before I start thinking of other things I'd rather be doing.....like washing/waxing my truck, or raking leaves.

Maybe that's why the cost of a trout stamp went up. Because I don't know of them doing anything else with the trout program to justify any cost increase. Just added the cost of a lottery ticket to the trout stamps I guess. 🙄

No kidding? They stocked Brown trout AND Rainbows in those ponds? If so then I have yet another reason to dislike their method of operation.

Thanks 😊. I left the Mounds candy bar, and the pair of Little Debbie Oatmeal creme pies out of the pic.....so as to convey my intentions of a healthy balanced snack. 😂

No health insurance. I've looked into it and the cost of it is more than my mortgage payment each month. No freakin' way ! Thanks for y'all's concern, but I've always been a self healer.....just sometimes takes longer than I'd like. If I had taken the advice of doctors in the past I would have already had knee surgery, shoulder surgery, eye surgery, and would be on numerous meds for life. As it stands I'm on NO meds at all....no knee/leg problems, no shoulder problems, no eye problems. I don't even require corrective lenses. I'm strong, full of piss and vinegar, survived Covid, can still get a boner without any pharmaceutical assistance, and I feel just fine. 💪😊🤟 I hate that my face has an ugly blemish.... but I'm thankful as hell that it wasn't my eyeball, so I consider myself pretty darn lucky. If it never completely heals then I can live with it if everyone else can. I probably don't have that many GOOD years left anyway. (12 or so if I remain fortunate). Doctors can just spend their valuable time "treating" the rest of you, since so many of ya seem to not be able to function without them. You're welcome. 😊 No sense in ME creating longer wait times for other peoples appointments, especially those people whom have faith in them and can afford to pay them their going rate. 👍

Ewe, that's aweful, sorry buddy! 😩 A bungee cord attacked me with its galvanized hook and nearly ripped my upper lip off. My ever growing whiskers....and the fact that I can't keep my mouth from moving all the time, will not allow it to fully heal. It will start to heal....but then I'll crack it open again, and the process is never ending. I'm beginning to think that I'll have to be placed in solitary confinement and fed through a straw before it ever heals. It's a drag. Doesn't hurt.....but takes away from my striking good looks. 😊

I pinched myself with the slide-hammer the other day. I'm like 36% disabled now, and it hurts to hold a fishing rod. Plus....I still haven't recovered from the Lipids 😢

I can tell you that there are ZERO in the hatchery races at Bennett. And I can't imagine them hauling in a load of browns, and dumping them all in the river without giving the park any at all. MDC would have no idea of the number of holdover Browns in the river from 2-3 years ago because they deny the fact that outlaw giggers are present on the river. Nevertheless I sincerely hope you catch a few and prove me wrong. Go get 'em! 👍

That's a hell of a way to begin a marriage. I bet his bride and her family are thrilled. Annulment time!

Oh boy, now we all have Shingles to worry about ? 🙄

My last Niangua Brown. Jan. 2020 Haven't caught one from the Niangua since. 🙄 In the past they would stock browns right around the opening day of Deer firearms season. They didn't last year I don't think, and I haven't seen anything suggesting that they have this year either.
-
I'm interested to hear how it goes. My daughter and I were going to hit that stretch yesterday but we got a late start so we just did some dry fly experimenting in the park. No browns in the spring branch at all, so I suspect that they skipped the annual stocking of browns in the river as well. Hope you prove me wrong. 👍

I don't know if I can do a 30 minute G rated video or not. PG-13 is probably the best I can hope for, so as soon as the camera gets turned on I'll have to lay down with Jackson and keep my mouth shut. 😊

Thanks Phil,. I will. 👍

All the cliches ever spoken about how unimportant having money is, even if all combined into a single paragraph, still won't cover the cost of a warm blanket for your child. Or even the material to make one.
-
I'm sad for your wife's misfortune, but you've gotta tell me how that works. Regardless of the health of me or my wife, if neither one of us was bringing in money we'd be livin' in a van down by the river. Probably wouldn't even have a place to raise chickens at. I don't need excess money to be happy, but I darn sure need it to be a consistent contributor on this here forum.

About it? Pfft. That doesn't even scratch the surface. I have loads of material. 😉

My goal was always to live and work near where I play. But it never fails that no matter where you are the grass is always greener 100+ miles away.

Screw that! I've done it too, plenty. But nowadays if I have to drive more than 1.5 hours..... I'm staying the night, or maybe a couple days. It seems to be getting harder as time goes on, to find a crib that I'd like to spend a night or two at. Everything is either booked solid, or gross.

Post of the day! 👍 (So far) Excellent point too. And typical of how scientists/biologist's do stupid crap. 2000+ Salmon are way cooler to have than a friggin coffee cup.
-
I have a whole list of things I'd like to give a public speech about.
-
"Hmm, wonder what could be manufactured from this stuff?" "I know.....A coffee cup!" 💡 Must have been early in the morning. 🙄 I don't know who's more twisted, the guy with the revelation......or the journalist that thought it was worth writing a story about. OR.... Billethead, who clicked the link so he could read about it... and then decided to share it with his friends.😂
