  1. What kind of surface DOESN'T get slick when it's wet and frozen ?
  2. Where did I say that ?
  3. You imply that boaters arenโ€™t paying attention or going to fast. I can accept that in some cases. If a powerboater runs over a guy in a kayak......then YEAH, that's exactly what I am "implying". In what cases CAN'T you accept it ?
  4. It shouldn't be that way though. It's actually a sad fact that everyone is just expected to accept that. Even considering that the law is on their side.
  5. No, and I guess that's a good thing. The last thing my area needs is me leaving a trail of squirting females everywhere I go. The checkout line at DG is slow enough as it is.
  6. Is it that stuff I see advertised that immediately puts women into involuntary orgasms and makes them squirt? I wanna get some of THAT !
  7. I tried to post it, but the site isn't taking my pics today. It is framed with 2" aluminum angle. The SeaDeck isn't slippery when just wet.....but fish slime and a splash of water will make a slick spot for a few minutes until it dries.
  8. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Yeah, it goes into the top of the water pump. That's how cooling water gets to the powerhead.
  9. Thanks Doug,. I have more fun in that thing than I do the bass boat.
  10. You overheated it. Did you make sure the water tube aligned with the pump housing grommet when you reinstalled the lower unit ? Those motors can get hotter than hell and still live. I've seen them bake the paint completely off the powerhead, cool off, and still be just fine.
  11. Today's trolling motors are built with a circuit that pulses the voltage to conserve battery charge % . That is the main function of the "mother board". I've never tested it, but I would almost bet that you'll get more total TIME continuous running than you can get by repeatedly switching on and off. Because when first switched ON you get a blast of full unregulated voltage.
  12. It came off the assembly line in March of 2019 This particular one is just over 2 years old and was probably left uncharged for too long.....cuz it's toast.
  13. The point is....if you can't see something the size of a Kayak with a person in it, then you need to slow down and pay closer attention.
  14. Look on all sides (and the bottom) of the battery to see if it has a date of manufacture sticker on it. If they are 3 years old, or older.....just scrap them.
  15. Isn't the idea of kayak fishing to be STEALTHY ? Cars and motorcycles on the road can be any color, but watercraft has to be bright pink or hunter orange, and have flags attached? Logs and floating debris come in earthy tones and don't wear flags either. I didn't see a guy in a yak once until I was closer than he or I would prefer me to be. I got all pissed and started to chew him out.....but then I thought about it for a minute. Time for ME to slow down and pay closer attention!
  16. Jack Frost! ๐Ÿ‘
  17. Very cool ! ๐Ÿ‘
  18. I did my little fly fishing Jon boat in SeaDeck. So far I love it. The stuff is kinda pricey but even if it only last 4-5 years I think I'd do it again.
  19. Right now I am swamped with total rebuilds and bigger complex jobs.....BUT I can't just make people that only need a water pump replacement, a trim motor swapped out, or something else quick and easy, wait for a month+. It's the quick turn-around jobs that PAY THE BILLS ! It's becoming really hard to manage, and people occasionally get kinda pissy. I'm only ONE GUY doing it all here though. And I refuse to work 24/7/365.
  20. You guys should be able to run to an area of the lake that has some gradual sloping banks.....and kill'em dragging a C-rig.
  21. As expected. Afraid not. The mid-kid is home for the Summer or I'd have a room with cable TV, WiFi, and a makeup table/nail salon that you could temporarily move into.
  22. Synthetic lumber of some kind has been used for dock walkways and flooring for quite awhile. It looks good and seems to last awhile before succumbing to UV deterioration and becoming brittle. My biggest hangup with it is that it creaks, pops, and snaps loudly when it flexes as you walk on it. Light colored (gray or tan) SeaDeck foam is feather-light, keeps water from ever contacting the plywood, drys completely in 5 minutes, and it stays cool when sitting out in the sun. It's way better than carpet, but only time will tell how long it lasts.
  23. Gladly! 20.00/hr. to start. Choose your own hours. Take all the breaks you want.....just realize that you don't get paid during them. If you ever start feeling like you're worth more $$$ just say so and we'll renegotiate.
  24. I'll never understand why boats are being sold today with these fuelmizer outboards.... and 40 gal. fuel tanks. What difference does it make whether the motor burns it up.....or you have to siphon it out and kill weeds with it 3-4 times per year because the fuel has gotten stale and watery? Give a guy a free weekend on the lake, and a 40 gal. fuel.tank.... and he's gonna fill it up. Nevermind that he's only going to use 10 gallons (maybe). So nobody is saving any money, and nobody is saving the planet. Fuel dumped on the ground is just as bad as exhaust in the air.
  25. Oh you can bet on it. 0 to 120 in 8 seconds will not be fast enough for some. They'll shoot for a Sonic boom.
