Some people poop too much. I have a buddy that has to poop 3-4 times a day, it's rediculous. You can't go anywhere with him that he doesn't have to sneak off to drop a duece. I think he enjoys it. I wake up, have coffee, poop.....and I'm good until tomorrow morning.

Rotten transoms are caused from some bonehead installing a motor, or a jackplate, or a livewell pump, or a transducer....and not properly sealing it up. The transom on my '85 350V is rock solid. 😊 Not even a hint of a stress crack anywhere.

Yes there are, and I don't buy into it. IMO Johnny Morris isn't responsible for degrading Rangers, Rangers began degrading quite some time before the company sold. In fiberglass boats, corners (90° corners) provide rigidness. When they went to the more rounded profile they lost alot of their their structural integrity. The extended transom design was also detrimental to the structural integrity of the hull. Ranger boats like this one are what made the company what it WAS. You can't totally redesign that and slap a Ranger decal on it....and expect it to just remain awesome because it is a "Ranger". That ain't the way it works. Fiberglass construction has RULES, and those rules don't change when you put a decal on it.

Nitro's have been a darn fine boat since the early '90's. I get a bunch of older ones in here for various repairs, and I gotta say...they are all holding up very well. I sure wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I was in the market for another bass boat.

Me too! My wife knows better than to make me stop at a yard sale. I nipped that crap in the bud way early in our relationship. Yes it wakes it up big-time, throttle response is out of this world. Makes a 25 feel like a 25. You gotta have the grates though. Sharpening the edges would just cause more gravel to get wedged in tighter between them. Chicken wire would work fine....but you'd have to stop and replace it every time you bumped bottom.

Maybe in flatlandville where you live, but not around here with gravel trucks struggling to get up every hill.

I'd rather be behind a bicycle than a truck burning diesel fuel. The only thing worse than hair spray and nail polish remover is diesel exhaust.

If you really wanna know how efficient a jet pump can be.....run one in clean water without the grates. The biggest problem with smaller jets, like 25-50hp is the grates. I've often wondered if chicken wire wouldn't be better on small outboards.

They can be. We were trying to throw bass bugs in the slack water sloughs and in little eddys a couple years ago, but the Asian carp were around those areas too and they'd spook, creating a huge ruckus, and spook the bass. Just the fly line landing on the water would cause them to explode. They are a PIA

Quite a few guys do it. Not me! You really need to learn that river before you just run it. Lots of places where it goes from 8 feet to 10 inches real quick.
