  1. We did a Landau 242 once that the transom was a full 3" off from being square with the toons/frame. You couldn't tell it just by looking at it, but that sucker was as crooked as a dog's hind leg.
  2. You may have to have 5/8 cca special ordered. No biggie, just might take an extra 10 days before you can pick it up.
  3. Oh yeah! Be sure to use a square and tweek the toons & frame back as perfectly square as you can get it before you start reapplying the decking. They are never straight. Especially if it is being built on a trailer Square from the inside of the toons first.
  4. I have rebuilt too many to count. Pretty straightforward stuff, but one tip I can offer is to CLOSELY inspect the toons, transom, and frame AFTER it is all stripped down. I almost always find cracks and stuff that I didn't notice before, while putting it back together....and that temporarily halts and overcomplicates the project. Also, unless specifically asked for, I'll never use carpet again. SeaDeck is SO much better, and easier to work with.
  5. The stuff that goes on here in Gravi is WAY more sane than the $#!t that goes on in YOUR neighborhood.
  6. I'd buy it if you weren't outside my 5 county area. Why don't you come have a beer and bring it with ya? I'll cover the gas. For real 😊
  7. Since the idea of being a professional bass angler is to build and maintain a lucrative career, and have the ability to retire fat. It's gotta be KVD I don't care about who wins a tournament tomorrow, I care about who doesn't need to.
  8. That's out of my 5 county area. 😏
  9. Definitely! I couldn't care less about towering bluffs and crystal clear water. Give me old cars lining the bank, giant rootwads, and, lots of boulders the size of an igloo cooler. πŸ‘ Some of my best days have been with the sound of a tractor in the background.
  10. Somebody used to put people in at Mayfield spring/cave. I think it was the place by the bridge at Falcon. I'm sure they'd go another couple miles and dump you in at the bridge at Competition.
  11. I love the Competition to Falcon stretch. I especially love it during bullfrog season. πŸ˜‰
  12. The only reason a motor "hates trolling" is because it isn't set up properly for it. If you want it to love trolling, I can make that happen. Motor height, trim position, prop, and tune. A chainsaw doesn't cut worth a crap if the chain is dull and the fuel is mixed wrong.
  13. What were those things that had the 3ft. straps and a pouch to put a rock in, you swung it around either sideways or over your head and then let one side go? Was it just called a "sling"? My brother made one and he actually got pretty good with it. He was trying to teach me how to use it and I hit the side of Mom's terquoise Chrysler New Yorker with a rock the size of my fist. BLAM!!!! She came running out of the house ready to lop both of our heads off, ran over to inspect the damage.....not even a friggin scratch. Boy they knew how to build cars back then. That car was a TANK!
  14. I had to call Skeeter about a month ago to ATTEMPT TO get some info on a guage cluster panel they used a couple years ago and I got the impression that they are not long for this world either. They offered no information whatsoever, and made no attempt to give me any directions or ideas on what to do. They were just like.... "Hmm, nope, can't help ya, sorry".
  15. Guess it depends on how bad you want that shirt or hoodie. πŸ˜… Bygod, I'll skip lunch for it ! I might even just piss my pants while I keep casting. Can we have a trophy added to our avatar for each one we win? 😊
  16. No reason for that, other than you had the wrong guy working on it. 😏
  17. It's useless $#!t like that, that make outboards cost more than they should. πŸ˜… I told my engineer daughter that if I ever caught her designing anything that has no useful purpose other than to over-complicate things.....I would disown her and break her favorite plate.
  18. I think maybe he is a Suzuki guy, and thinks Evinrude's do what Suzuki's do. I believe there is a Suzuki 4S that does that.....but I wouldn't know because I don't work on them.
  19. Well that's one that I never heard before! They have a high dollar ICON tach available that displays "key on" time, but the circuit that runs the analog needle on a "system check" tach is completely isolated from the EMM.....so I'd have to see that work to believe it.
  20. I'll have it when I need it. So far I've been able to diagnose everything with the WINKY-BLINKY'S that are built into the EMM. I ain't paying 4k just to tell you how many hours are on it, unless you don't mind paying 800.00 to know. πŸ˜…
  21. I don't quite think so. Probably just the opposite is true. There are enough die-hard Evinrude enthusiasts out there that it's quite possible your Evinrude just doubled in value overnight. If anybody has one they'd like to unload, hit me up.
  22. I like the Jersey/hoodie idea. That's a perfect trophy. Bass, bluegill, crappie, white bass, catfish.....whatever..... I'm in. Is it going to always be "biggest single fish" ? Or could it possibly be a race to 50 (or 100) inches, or something along those lines, where it would last, however many days, until someone hit the mark. My mind is a raging torrent...... πŸ˜…
