  1. Yo, this isn't TECH CORNER here ! 98% of the time you guys all hate me, so I should just tell ya to piss-off.....or ignore ya πŸ˜… But actually a bad plug is suspect only if the engine fails a CYLINDER DROP test. A cylinder failing a cylinder drop test narrows it down to either a bad plug.....or a failure of that cylinder to receive fuel. Because you've already established that compression is good and the ignition system is supplying voltage to the spark plug. A problem with the charging system can cause a intermittent and/or random misfire (usually at higher speeds). If disconnecting the 2 big yellow leads coming from the stator eliminates the misfire....then it is caused by the charging system. If you notice a fluttering tachometer also....during the misfire....then you don't even need to test any further. The voltage regulator is definitely bad......and it probably damaged the tachometer too. I've warned about this on this forum before, if you've been paying attention. This particular failure is caused by HOOKING UP A BATTERY BACKWARDS....AND THEN TURNING THE KEY ON. Remember? πŸ™‚
  2. There you go with that term...."data" πŸ™„ What is the oldest smartphone or laptop you know of, that is still functioning properly? The circuitry is the same. And troubleshooting programs are only 50% accurate. When the troubleshooting program fails to properly diagnose the problem the ECM/ECU is considered bad. There's your "data". So whether the ECM/ECU is TRULY bad or NOT a certified tech is trained to REPLACE IT.
  3. Troubleshooting consists of a Compression test, Ignition & charging system test, Fuel system test......In that order.
  4. That's right πŸ‘ ECM's / ECU's last as long as the average cell phone or laptop. So even if the injectors and compressors hold up for awhile....that little brain box that controls everything is gonna puke. And they never puke when sitting in your driveway, they do it when you're far from your truck & trailer. Don't think you can just carry a spare one either......cuz it doesn't work like that. It amazes me that they trust them on aircraft too. That's why I'll never board one.
  5. So a sick, diseased, and dying deer can still grow a thick healthy looking set of antlers like that? That seems kinda odd, and contradicts what other biologists have said. "Dry crusty noses, spongy hoofs, spindly antlers". I know I've heard/read that before. Guess it depends on which biologist you're listening to. πŸ™„
  6. Do you suppose CWD got to these, or do you think they were shot and never recovered? The one looks like it died while still in velvet? Found today, all within 300 yards of each other.
  7. As a matter of mechanical science, y'all should be changing injectors more frequently than spark plugs.......But you ain't gonna, cuz they are over 400.00 apiece πŸ˜… If you truly want to save your motor and preserve performance though..... that's what you should be changing. Now, with that in mind.....How much prouder are you of EFI/DFI technology vs. Carburetors? πŸ˜‰
  8. I'm sure it needed to be tested for Chronic Wasting Disease.
  9. How often do you change them in your vehicle or lawn mower? You'd be better off concerning yourself with aged fuel.....than aged spark plugs.
  10. Possibly the most telling is that of all things "fish & wildlife departments" are supposed to be active about.......Fish size records are something taken so seriously πŸ™„ Have they nothing better to do ? πŸ€”
  11. My guess is that they suspect there was lead shoved down its throat. That is a big Crappie.....but it isn't a 4 pounder ! I mean c'mon πŸ™„
  12. Those are $150.00 entry deals. Working folk piss away that much on scratcher tickets each month.
  13. Hit those fuel corporations up for a sponsorship πŸ‘ BP and American Ethanol are doing it.
  14. And to think it's all possible because of the people who have anxiety attacks when the cost of gas goes up .10/gal. overnight. πŸ˜…
  15. Well sureπŸ˜… Everyone is glad to share their EXPENSES with you. Wanna hear mine? What's really amazing is that if you sit with your calculator and add them up, and then add up my "profits"...... you'll be left astounded as to how the heck I'm not living alone, just me and my dirty barefoot & cross-eyed hungry children, in a van down by the river. πŸ˜‰
  16. Not as much as you might think. Advertising is a write-off and to my knowledge there's no limit to the amount of advertising a business can do. Basically (under current tax laws) any amount of money a company pays to Uncle Sam each year can be given to pro anglers......and at least the company gets SOMETHING out of it in return. They don't have to win tournaments, or even place high, they just have to show up and walk across the stage. Being an entertaining person that the the public can relate to is a plus. If you follow the B.A.S.S. OPENS you'll notice that an opportunity to end your day early to help a fellow angler is never avoided because you'll be openly recognized and praised for it. Sponsors eat that stuff up ! πŸ‘πŸ˜‡ That's actually better than a landslide win, because you'll carry that for YEARS.
  17. There are 3 holes between MV and the 64 bridge that hold some all Winter, but it's really not worth it because they get real spooky as you approach them. So unless you wanna sit there long enough for them to forget about you and settle down you'll likely only catch one dink per hole. The "forbidden section" of the Osage Fork is worth looking into, and in the same geographical area......but you'll have to do your own homework. 😁
  18. Anything below a 70hp is gonna get choked easily. A 90hp can pretty much be run right through anything that doesn't make a "thud' on the bottom of the boat.
  19. Pro fishing has gone totally stupid. I hobknob with a group of full-time pro anglers, but I dare not mention any of them or openly repeat anything I hear.....Yet they all (well, most of them) are active social media butterflies who occasionally talk in code on their respective channels......and get lambasted for it. I'll tell ya what they remind me of, is a bunch of law enforcement officials whispering in private about all the underhanded crap going on that can't be "leaked". The pretentious BS that I πŸ’―% won't stand for, is the facade that college and highschool anglers want to be brought into this fold......NO THEY DON'T! And if you have a kid in your family that is in any way being coaxed (or funded) in that direction, do them a huge favor and do whatever you can to stand in their way. Teaching kids to fish is very cool, but encouraging kids to enter the world of competitive angling is probably worse than anything right now. It didn't used to be like this, and it sucks to see. I keep thinking that it can't continue on this path for very much longer before it implodes...... but I've been thinking that for way too long. πŸ˜”
  20. We have "Emergency Responders" around here. They get brand new vehicles every 3 years, and they drive around like their butt is on fire all the time. Burn up a tank of gas every single day. Park right next to the door and never shut their trucks off because.....well there's just no time to START A TRUCK!!!! To my knowledge they've never saved anyone or anything. They direct traffic, that's about it. Aren't even "authorized" to drag dead deer off the roads πŸ™„ yet they walk into the gas station & restaurants like they should be the most respected members of the community.
  21. I guess the most 2024 thing about this is that you waited to take pictures of it burning, before PUTTING IT OUT ! The things people will do to entertain their Facebook followers. I'm at a loss for words πŸ₯΄
  22. Otherwise known as a "Lawn mower" ?
  23. A Sea Dog prop wrench is the greatest grate clearer ever devised. Nothing pops a stuck rock out of a jet pump grate better. πŸ‘
  24. Am I the only idiot that can't visualize what kinda "shredder" we're talking about here ? πŸ€”
  25. I never understood why they built them to look so tough & rugged back in the day πŸ™„ Pretty sure they are cushioned with closed cell foam now. πŸ‘ So finally they can live up to their looks.
