Study: Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison
fishinwrench replied to BilletHead's topic in Conservation Issues
I don't have a dog in this fight but I'm not eating it... No way!! Deer meat isn't that good anyway. Let's not just assume that store bought beef/pork/chicken is any HEALTHIER ! 🙄 -
Yep, that's the game they play 🙄 This pretty little 2016 40hp had a broken cam follower & bent shift rod because a customer attempted to replace a water pump impeller on his own, and didn't know what he was doing. (Got a little heavy handed) Was able to get a cam follower kit and new shift rod....But guess what? Driveshaft seal and retainer are NLA. NICE !!! She's holding pressure for NOW, but if it ever doesn't......I guess it's time for the scrapyard 🤷♂️ A lesson for the DIY types......If things don't seem to be going back together smoothly, then STOP ! STUDY ! Before cranking her on down ! 😉 That DIY water pump replacement cost him over a thousand. And that sweet looking Mercury 40 4-stroke is nothing but a $9,000.00 disposable outboard.

Nobody wants to speculate on the core reason that we have diseased deer. When any animal becomes too heavily populated then that invites disease. It isn't enough that deer are so heavily populated that automobiles are striking them daily all over the place. Their dead rotting carcasses litter the roads everywhere. Still you have MDC agents working overtime, spending big bucks on fuel, and wearing out trucks investigating potential "poaching". God forbid anyone kill a deer without the proper tag ! 🙄 All the while it is obvious that a BUNCH of these bastards need to be killed off. -
No kidding! I don't even wanna know......

You mean "Hoping For" ? Right? 😉 I don't bother voting. Anybody that trusts that the voting process is genuine.....is delusional. "Let's trust a society that we've been spoon feeding false & incomplete information to for all eternity......to choose our future leaders". Yeah Right ! 😂

If a buddy that didn't bother to get his tested before making sausage......gave you a couple sticks of summer sausage..... Would you eat it ? Do they make Test Kits so people can test them themselves....or do you have to go to some BS "test facility" ? -

I know that "they" say that fully cooking does not kill the prion........ but how is that? What other form of life on this planet can survive FIRE ? Oh wait, it's a PROTEIN 🤔 Guess that complicates things, hu ? Blinded by SCIENCE! 🫣 -
Yeah well, welcome to the club. 😅 Family don't get awarded court ordered judgements ! 😁 Just be glad that you don't get emails like THESE ! Gotta pay them to also get emails like THESE !

She might have debts of her own to worry about.

The Jehovah Witness gals are obviously not trying hard enough. If they REALLY want you to follow them, then they should TAKE OFF SOME FRIGGIN' CLOTHES before knocking on your door !!!! 😉👍

My God, that's an ugly looking thing. The first person to eat one must have been in fear of starving to death. 😅 -
Queen of the crawdad boil 😳 Kinda scary imagining her in a courtroom, or coming at you with a broken beer bottle !
-
The part that irritates me the most is that everyone ignored the FIRST law that was broken......Which was underage kids aquiring Tito's Vodka and getting wasted. Could have been a really good lesson WHY there are such laws. But now it's ok for kids to be hammered and obnoxious....and everyone has to babysit their drunken @$$£s, and make sure they get home safely. 🙄
-
Those look sexy 👍 I tried for years to find the best (ace in the hole) Crawdad fly, and although it makes no sense to me.....as soon as I quit trying to split the pinchers, and added silicone legs I hit paydirt. I hope that your results are different, but here are my 2 best producers.

I don't wanna type for 55 minutes. And that's what it would take to bring you up to speed. 😅

Like going from a 2-stroke to a 4-stroke. Equivalent to a cupful of gasoline in a long day of fishing. 🙄

Very interesting to read and to think about.

I haven't tinkered with it yet, but one of my younger fly-flinging brethren tyed a batch of Clousers with the eyes further back on the hook, and left the back hair untrimmed out past the hook eye. He claims that when he strips hard and pauses it, the fly coasts backwards until the tippet goes tight.....then sashays side-to-side as it sinks. I told him that if he ever out-fishes me with it.....then he needs to come up with a NAME for it. 😉 -

People have been known to die after eating Vienna Sausages and Pork Rinds too. -
Well there's a twist. I'll have to pay attention to that. I typically grab them across the head, gently holding the gill plates shut....which is the only way to immobilize a White/Hybrid to unhook them....and keep them from hurting me. 😅 @BilletHead Are you talking about squeezing the gill plates harder than you need to in order to just hold the weight of the fish......or squeezing them elsewhere? The whole vibrating fish thing was the very first thing I started noticing that clued me to the realization that......Some of these Whites aren't quite the same. After that I started looking at tongue patches, lateral lines, and counting fin rays.

The absence of salt would probably be the deal breaker, as far as the "charged" theory is concerned. Kinda reminds me of a Stalcup Crazy Dad with the fuzzy head. That used to be my #1 crawdad fly before I was introduced to the Mudbug. Caught a lot of creek bass on it. -
Dementia is among the saddest and most painful things for family members to cope with, but in alot of cases the person can function fine if left alone and nothing is demanded from them. Just refrain from asking them to remember things, and refrain from assigning them tasks.....and they'll function just fine. Constantly bombarding them with questions and telling them to do things just frustrates them. They are often way more capable than it appears.....if just left alone to do things whenever & however they please. It's when "caretakers" start trying to "help' is when kitchen fires, and flooded bathrooms happen.

😂 Points given ! 😂

Everyone acts all concerned about their Heart, Lungs, Pancreas, Skin, ect.... but what REALLY MATTERS is their Brain. Once you're nuttier than a squirrel turd your life is basically over ! Sad, but True.
-
Statistically......I dunno 🤔 For every one of those early deaths from Diarrhea/Child birth, or something similar, there are hundreds of old Whiskey drinking, Collard green eating, Pall Mall smoking, codgers with no teeth & 2" of hair hanging out of their nose.... that lived well into their 80's-90's and only visited a doctor if they got their arm, leg, or pecker caught in a combine. I know this because my parents were in the nursing home business. And they seldom, if ever, had a vacant room. What's the average life expectancy here in 2024 by all these folks casting shadows in the doctors office waiting room on a weekly basis ?
