Caught a bunch in the canals of Okeechobee, but have never been very fascinated with them, kind of a nuisance. We cooked a couple of them up one night and they tasted just like the crappie and bluegill they were fried with. Clean fillets though, not as much like Pike as I expected.

Ok, help me understand this .... Some boneheaded doctor gave you a treatment that left you emitting harmful radiation, then sent you out into the world? Knowing full well that you'd likely have to shop for groceries, pay for fuel, and might get pulled over for speeding, running a red light, or because your license plate light wasn't working. Yeah they used to make you present a current fishing license before giving you a daily tag. They don't care about that anymore because, as you said, hand him 3 bucks when you walk up to the counter back there and he will give you a daily permit. The guy working the back counter is a slacker, you can just tell. He was bitching about "the locals" when my daughter and I were in there, so I said "Hey, I'm a local". He looks at me and says "Well?" My kinda guy ! 😎

After 4 failed attempts to get drawn on closer birds I decided to take a 40 yard shot that was actually 46. Bad call. BH is just one of those guys..... I've known a handful of them. True Hunters that make it seem easy. It ain't.

I have a better one for ya. 2 ol'boys here at the access came back in from Crappie fishing, tied their boat up to the courtesy dock, stopped to BS with someone in the parking lot, then just hopped in their truck and pulled an empty trailer home. Didn't realize that they were minus a boat until they got home and one of them went to get a water bottle from the cooler in the boat. They actually thought they had lost the boat on the highway so they immediately headed back to retrace their path expecting to find the boat totalled along the road somewhere. Got all the way back to the access and there she was just bobbin' and waiting to be put on the trailer. Wouldn't you think a glance in the mirror on the way home would throw up a red flag? I guess sometimes 2 brains just short circuit at the same time. 🤔
