  1. Yep they do that here too. They obviously underestimate how long it's going to take them to paddle back to the access, so every evening there are unlit vessels poking along within a mile of the access in total darkness. I have learned to slow down and look really hard for them when I'm headed in, but I suppose about 10 will have to get killed before they finally get the message and buy some freakin' lights.
  2. When they use that stupid realtor mile mark designation (14mm of the Niangua arm)🙄 nobody except Century 21 agents know where the hell they are talking about. Mile marks are supposed to be miles from the dam, not miles from the mouth of a tributary arm. Drives me crazy. The less math you have to do in order to navigate the lake, the better. The mouth of the Niangua is the 31mm so let's see....31+14=45 45mm BN is a mile above the 54 bridge (Tonka bend). Good grief!
  3. We cut 3 All spoons 😒
  4. Should just spit a little while engine is running. If raw fuel is running out of it constantly then there's an injector stuck open, a hole in the lift pump diaphragm.....or something.
  5. If you've got 12.9 on the battery with key switch off, then only 12.7 after the engine is started and running at idle then there's some draw somewhere. (Bad tach?) Hit the trim button a few times and see if it recovers the voltage loss quickly without revving the motor up. It should. Personally I'm a fan of CDI components. Better than OEM as far as dependability is concerned. They design and build some good stuff.
  6. That's typical of any carbed or throttle body injected outboard. Don't trim down below level until you're ready to pull a hole shot.
  7. Back when I tinkered with restoring old guns there was a product called Oxpho-blue (?) The best results were obtained by disassembling, doing an alcohol bath, then misting with water and letting a light rust form over all the parts (except the inner barrel and action of course). Then knock the rust off with steel wool, clean again, and apply the bluing liquid. It wasn't a deep dark blue, but more of a uniform dark blue-gray. Looked cool with a lighter toned stock (not walnut stained). I did a Ithica 37 like that and everyone fell in love with it. Had no problem selling that one. Beautiful Dove gun.
  8. A grand for 3.5hp Jesus H Christ!
  9. https://www.airgunnation.com Or are you talking about a firearm ?
  10. I must say ..... The timing on this tip couldn't be worse. 🤔 Can we please get a reminder sometime around July 4 2019 ? Thanks. 😊
  11. Yeah, you'd better hurry up and retire, because music and band is on her radar. 🤣 Naw, her teachers always say that she's a "genuine doll in class, always helpful and polite". She either hates us, or her teachers are lying. 😅
  12. Then those that don't want to can choose to not participate. Seems simple to me. Personally I'd rather fish against 10 guys and pay a 200.00 entry fee, than fish against 100 and only pay 20.00 The smaller the field the less likely that a cheater is amongst them. The average boat ramp parking lot can't handle 100 trucks and trailers anyway.
  13. They want to milk the hype for all it's worth. Vandam will probably be the very last one to announce what he is doing. Of course he will go with MLF, but they will try to keep you on the edge of your seat for as long as they can. I kinda think that them turning competitive fishing into a reality show will burn out like a short fat candle on a dinner plate, but I really REALLY hope that the evolution of the format takes hold and spreads like a wildfire.
  14. This is gonna be a fun one 😃 I've never seen a switchbox that produces sufficient voltage at cranking speed...but won't at 3k+. I almost wanna say it's impossible for anything in the switchbox to cause that. I'm still leaning towards a VR problem, or possibly a bad shift interrupt switch (if so equipped). The shift switch is designed to momentarily kill the spark to one bank, which helps the motor shift more smoothly. Put a timing light on each plug wire, run it up, and verify for 100% certain which cylinder(s) are loosing spark.
  15. 😂 Stealing that one. 😊
  16. Test the voltage regulator before you haul off and buy new switchboxes. That one primary falling off at higher RPM's is kinda odd. Not a typical switchbox failure by any means. Might not hurt to swap coils around too, just to be sure that one isn't arching to ground.....which would also show up as a dropped primary on the meter.
  17. The one I "bolded" is out of spec. If there is an additional green wire from the advance module on that terminal then disconnect it. You need 140v minimum on that green primary wire. If it has the "High Speed Advance Module" mounted on top of the port cylinder head then get rid of that thing and don't look back. You'll have to study the difference between it and an "idle stabilizer". You can leave the idle stabilizer, but definitely terminate any HS advance module (they look alot alike, but are identified either by part# or wire colors).
  18. Another "old guy" I knew swore by a tomato-red Gene Larew worm during the dog days of Summer. He bought them in bags of 100. I throw red crankbaits in late Winter/early spring, but then I put them away for the year. That might be a mistake.
  19. Peacefully? Madison? 😂 Only when you leave her alone and give her what she asks for. Everything is a fight.😏 Her sister's nickname for her is War Pig, but we can't call her that in front of mom anymore. ☠️
  20. I watched it on YT. He was somewhere in MO. ripping McCaskill a new one, and pimping us a new senator or something. MAGA baby!
  21. Yeah, the "American Classic", or so they call it, with a plastic breech and a rear sight that can't even be adjusted enough to zero. Because at the time that was the American way. So how was the Trump rally ? 😎
  22. Yeah well, school was a drag. They always went out of their way to say Hi and wanted to chit-chat after the graduation (that I didn't attend), so I must have done something right. They made the mistake of mailing our diploma to us weeks before the actual graduation ceremony. So with that already in hand a float party on the Meramec sounded like a way better plan. There were 12 of us that didn't really care if we had a tassle to hang on our rear view mirrors, or not, so graduation night was spent at the Finn's motel. 😁
  23. If you add the steel breech and be sure that the transfer port seals up good and straight they hit plenty hard. Mine when stock would not blow completely through a bean can, but after the steel breech and port sealing rings it's ballistics look like this...
  24. The kid FINALLY caught one ! OMG if you only knew all the crap we've been through... This is the child that "doesn't like to fish". 🙄 Funny how she wouldn't put the rod down afterwards. 😃 So there's still hope!
