Gotta love buying parts for a Merc
fishinwrench replied to aarchdale@coresleep.com's topic in General Angling Discussion
I'm surprised at the injector failure, as I've not seen a single issue related to a bad injector. I've heard of some techs BLAMING a bad injector, but I question their diagnostics. So far all Etec running problems that have come in here have been related to bad, contaminated, or aged fuel. Except for one that had a broken ignition coil bracket causing a loss of ground to the coil. I can tell you that the upper motor mounts do NOT like saltwater. I have replaced 3 sets of those a few years after folks visited the coast. The mounts are housed and hold water, they need to design them to drain and dry out, or design them so that they can be flushed easier. -

I've said it all before 🤗 The corporation, and therefore the dealer network, are operating as crooked as a dog's hind leg. And right now Mr. Johnny Morris is in a position where he could stop it with the stroke of a pen. I'd love to know the real reason why he doesn't. I certainly don't mind studying their systems and working on them, but they aren't my choice of an outboard for personal use. Don't ever confuse their outboard shinanigans with the Mercruiser stern drive systems though, because there's not a better stern drive engine on the planet, and the way they operate the corporation on THAT end of the building is 180° opposite. There's fresh coffee in the pot and donuts on the counter over THERE. -

Artic fox fur, or Icelandic sheep hair. -
I have caterpillars the size of a bratwurst on my tomato plants. What do those things morph into ? A moth the size of a buzzard? I plucked one off and it barked at me. I got scared, dropped it and ran away. They aren't friendly

What good is a show where nobody breaks the law? The ratings for that one are gonna tank before the 2nd episode. I break the law everytime I leave my driveway. That being said, which one of you should I call if I need to be bailed? I think I only get one phone call and I prolly should tattoo the number on place I can still see while cuffed. We'll start a reality show. -
A man that heads in that direction with a razor, an ice pick, and a cigarette lighter....is not going to show up for work tomorrow.

A cashier at a gas station faces possible contraction of Walrus Gumboot every night when they clean the restrooms. -

I love how on those shows they always express how dangerous their job is. #1. They are trained marksmen and are armed to the teeth, have all the latest defense toys available, and possess the authority to just go ahead and kill you if they perceive you as a threat. Even if they kill someone unjustifiably the penalty is a misdemeanor. #2. They passed tests in psychological analysis and actual physical combat, and if they even for a second think that they can't handle something on their own then backup is immediately on the way. #3. If they really think that a situation might turn dangerous for them (beyond all their skills) then they won't be scolded for just backing off. The only reason that job would be any more dangerous than a job as a cashier at a gas station would be because you suck. -
Streamers at night trophy area discussion

Just fyi, you can get exactly the same effect with a piece of craft foam, or a disk cut from a plastic milk/soda bottle that you get with those inverted cones. The effect is the same. -
https://flyfilmtour.com/ If you want serenity and good wading water then the upper Niangua stretches are good (Smallies and Goggle eye) Williams Ford to Moon Valley, or Moon Valley to the BS access at 64hwy. The trout fishing begins at the confluence of BS and extends down to Prosperine. The best of the trout water pretty much ends at Ho-Humm (but don't go there because that guy is a psychopath that hasn't been arrested yet).

I hate working on engines that have been exposed to saltwater. I trained with a bunch of guys from the coast and they were way too cranky for their age, and all looked 20 years older than they really were.

Are we still talking about crabs? Nobody gets crabs anymore. I think it's a lost habitat thing. All the bushes got wiped out in the late '90's. No bush=no crabs. And thank God for that because now we have all these guys with giant Duck Dynasty beards, and that would be a nasty situation. "Uh dude, you have tiny trapeze artists performing on your face".

I'm not one of those guys that can go somewhere and do something once....and be happy. If I truly enjoyed it then I'd get completely ate up with it and have to move there, so Tarpon, Redfish, and high country Trout are out of the question. I don't even want to experience it because it would be like cheating on my wife. I'm afraid I'd fall in love and loose everything I have worked so hard for up until now. My bucket list is just simply more days doing what I already do within a few hours of home. Being a tourist doesn't appeal to me at all.

The learning curve is just in the finding/locating of them. Once found they are usually pretty easy to catch. If you like stripping streamers then one day of catching temperate bass will change your life. They hit like a freight train and fight like hell. For a 6 pack of MGD I'll put you on some. I love watching guys get into them for the first time. 🤗

If you hadn't said "regularly" then I would say "Sure". Are you trying to talk yourself out of buying a boat? Or considering getting rid of the ones you have? Neither of those scenarios is gonna go without regret.

There hasn't been much open discussion about NFOW since the big flood settled. I'm sure the fish are still there, and I'm sure lots of holes have changed. I haven't been down, and haven't heard from anyone that has. Hit it and let us know how it goes.
