  1. Odds are you'll only do the stretch from Bannister to Fiery once. It is a 1/2 mile of pretty water scattered among 5 miles of yuck. If it wasn't for the long island dividing the river at Blue spring it would be lots better.
  2. I've only Google mapped that stretch, it doesn't look very appealing, but that may just be my interpretation. I only fish from Grizwald down.
  3. If you see a pair of fly fishers, or a fly rodder and a yellow dog in a red Old Town that'll be me. Gonna try to hit it tomorrow actually. Just doing Green Ford to Bannister I think.
  4. Awe take it easy on'em. My grandpa shot a guy in the arm for running his limb lines back in the late 60's. Oddly enough they later became best friends and the fella did alot for our family. My grandpa used to tell him...."I'm glad I didn't kill you cuz you turned out to be a good egg".
  5. The future generation is in big trouble the way I see it. I don't know what town the kids live in that will someday build roads, bridges, houses, and do the heavy lifting, because they don't live HERE. The only way you'll be able to get any hard labor out of this upcoming generation is by letting them screw up and then throwing them in prison for awhile. The penitentiarys will be the only lucrative construction companies in America 15 years from now I bet. The schools had to change the name of Shop class to "Industrial arts" but even that didn't work this year, so they tricked some girls into taking it just to fill the class. That cracked me up!
  6. I worry about worrying. I'm not really worried NOW but I know the day that I will be worrying ALOT is getting closer every day, and that worries me. Should I help make someone else richer so that I can only worry 1/2 as much about worrying? Nah, I'll just have a little more money now and enjoy it while I can, because regardless of my financial status later in life I'll still have worries. I (personally) can be happy as a clam living alone with my worries in a van down by the river, and that's likely where I'm headed. No thought for the 'morrow, live for today.
  7. The tide dropped? Yeah the ignorance doesn't stop with the boater, does it?
  8. Yeah this is the time of year that I can catch lots of shorts everywhere, but keepers are few and far between. I never know whether I should be fishing deep or shallow. It seems that my best success comes from just running down the bank (any bank) with a 1/2oz. Redeye shad until my arm gives out. Anyone that can put together a solid keeper catching pattern now is a STUD!
  9. I'm thinking a 12 pack should be plenty. If you slam a whole case we'll have to form a search party.
  10. I never forget a "keeper", but if I caught 100-200 a day I might.
  11. I'm hearing that an accidentally deployed anchor pole caused this.... Specific brand not being said out loud.
  12. Man o man could I ever turn a sub-division like that upside down. You have no idea....
  13. Always sumthin. Lemme guess, you live in a gated community that doesn't allow boats in the yard/driveway?
  14. If they are specially fitted seats your only option is to remove them and take to an upholstery shop so they can use the old frames for a stencil.
  15. Wow, guinea feathers! The flyshop guys gotta love you.
  16. What good is a battery sitting on the floor? Put it in the dang boat where it belongs before you stub your toe on it!
  17. If deep fish are too stupid to evacuate water with depleted oxygen then how are they smart enough to realize that surface temps have cooled 10 degrees ?
  18. Maybe some of this can be used for creek/river access and keep cranky landowners from hassling fishermen. Ya think? http://www.417news.com/2015/08/18/money-available-to-improve-wildlife-on-private-land/
  19. If the insurance co. is doing an investigation then they know who owns it and a claim has already been made. A total loss claim kinda requires an official report..... unless..... you are an insurance man, sold yourself the policy, and then fudged the claim.
  20. Well thanks, Mitch, THAT was an unwanted education and an eye opener! I was unaware of that place and NOW I wont be able to keep a straight face with anyone around here now. Just proves my point....... Why does ANYONE even bother getting married? Good grief!
  21. Everyone always makes a big deal about the weight of canoes. Mine is like 74lbs. but I have no problem loading/unloading/portaging it. Maybe some of y'all just need a few nights per week at the gym?
  22. Made a 26 mile flat-out run today and never had to let off once. Felt GOOD! Cost me 30.00 in fuel to do it though
  23. I'd go for that IF they'll take a jackhammer to 1/2 the concrete, and plug all the exhaust pipes. Fishing in front of a pipe spewing water is only fun for about 4 minutes, and the fish are too stupid to hold anywhere else.
  24. A beaver slap at night, followed by that weird moaning sound they make will cause you to get out of the water with a quickness !
