  1. As a battery dealer you are allowed about 2 of those swaps per year, after that you pro-rate or loose money. He obviously likes you.
  2. Well then, there you have it !
  3. Being a mechanic (for hire) I change gear lube when I am asked to, and 75% of the time the lube I am disposing of is as clean and free of viscosity breakdown as what I'm replacing it with. As much as I love making money I still have concerns about the needless waste of oil based resources in our lives. Unless the lube is contaminated with water or particles of metal, and still has its original color then it is as good as new IMO. Heat inside a gearcase is very slight, so.... If your lube has not noticeably changed in color then my guess is that it is still good. What does the manufacturer recommend in your "powdered gear" lower unit ? I honestly have not been educated about it, so I don't know. I do know that the price of replacement gearsets have NOT gone down, so are we now paying more for an inferior product?
  4. So with only one lug nut barely on a single stud you were able to back down the ramp, load the boat, and get How Far before the wheel fell off ? Sounds like that wheel was one badass Marine too!
  5. Hula grubs and Sluggo/Fluke baits were always good to me during Spring on Pomme. It's been awhile since I have fished it though. Do they have any water now ?
  6. Swindel selling gear lube these days? Wonder if he changes the differential lube(s) in his truck every time too.
  7. They are spawning now, so your best bet is to forget trying to get one to bite, and just snag him in the head.
  8. Very very cool !
  9. If you slice baloney Like a swastika It will lay flat in a hot skillet.
  10. The guys with the really nice boats aren't here but about 5 weeks out of the year. They are up in the cities paying for their second home and nice boat(s) so that when they die shortly after retirement the wife has a really cool crib to move her new stud into.
  11. If you'll swap out my tranny output shaft seal while your down there I'll grab you a whole roll of dip.
  12. If someone can saw off the CC of my truck with a hack saw then they deserve to have it. There's room for maybe a 2" stroke IF you cut at an extreme angle.
  13. Had a front wheel fall off my truck while going over a railroad crossing once. Only one stud was busted. It can happen without anyone removing or loosening anything. This is why we BALANCE WHEELS when we change tires. I'd be really REALLY surprised if anyone shows up to fingerprint anything. A set of prints on a trailer fender isn't gonna result in any charges I don't think.
  14. I don't miss my lakefront home one bit. Keeping a dock and hoist maintained is a PIA ! Living within a mile of several boat ramps is absolutely the way to live.
  15. Yeah usually folks are friendly...but there are exceptions. Smacking boats with jigs is a no-no for more reasons than the obvious. Noise like that kills the bite.
  16. Last night at 2am the lake was at 658.0 This morning it was 657.2 Until Ameren ceases their little game spawning activity will be flakey at best.
  17. A BPS Dogwood Canyon rod ! Yeah baby, Sunburst Goat approved gear.
  18. Just politely tell cranky dock owners that you have numbers on your boat for this very reason, if they have a problem with how you are fishing then they can call the law. Do not bother conversing any further with them because it never ends well. If/when the lawdogs contact you just tell them that if they have evidence that you did anything unlawful then you'd be happy to discuss it....Otherwise you haven't any reason to have to defend yourself.
  19. They can't "pop that back out", they are wasting OUR time. Ask them to please get another one on the way pronto.
  20. No No, The meetings are about the proper holding down of goats. We don't care how you hold your fish.
  21. You could probably just wear yours inside out for a spell, you'll master it quickly I think.
  22. See ! I would take it back, preferably before you use it and scuff it up. Or....if you have already used it just tell them all you could do was go in circles and you just figured out why.

    What's Cooking?

Feta (Greek: φέτα, féta, "slice") is a brined curd white cheese made in Greece from sheep's milk, or from a mixture of sheep and goat's milk. Similar brined white cheeses produced outside the European Union are often made partly or wholly of cow's milk, and they are also sometimes called feta. It is a crumbly aged cheese, commonly produced in blocks, and has a slightly grainy texture. Feta is used as a table cheese, as well as in salads (e.g. the Greek salad) and pastries. Most notable is its use in the popular phyllo-based dishes spanakopita ("spinach pie") and tyropita ("cheese pie"), or served with some olive oil or olives and sprinkled with aromatic herbs such as oregano. It can also be served cooked or grilled, as part of a sandwich, in omelettes, or as a salty alternative to other cheeses in a variety of dishes. Since 2002, "feta" has been a protected designation of origin product in the European Union. According to the relevant EU legislation, only those cheeses produced in a traditional way in some areas of Greece (mainland and the island of Lesbos), and made from sheep's milk, or from a mixture of sheep and goat's milk (up to 30%) of the same area, may bear the name "feta".[1] However, similar white-brined cheeses (often called "white cheese" in various languages) are found in the Eastern Mediterranean and around the Black Sea.
