  1. Nah, and there will be a flood, tornado, or some other "act of God" that they will blame it on.
  2. I think, at this point, that if you believe that one day soon they'll all of a sudden kick it into gear and get serious about completing the project....... you are living in a dream world.
  3. We were down there last week, from mid-week thru the weekend. The whole place is in shambles and nobody appeared to be working at all. Whoever is in charge of that project should be ashamed of themselves. 🙄 It looks like they hired the same crew that Charlie Reading did.
  4. Depends on what you're fishing for, where you're fishing, ect.... Mann's Little George tail spinners can cast a mile and can be lethal when targeting White bass in open water, or around tailwaters. I got schooled on big "Dixie Jet" flutter spoons a few years ago.....and that is FUN ! Everything from big bass to giant flatheads in 10-40 feet will smoke those things.
  5. It's just as well that I wasn't invited to that meal....... because 1/3 of a groundhog would only arouse my appetite, without bedding it back down. 😊
  6. I bet the Ukrainians about $#!t their pants ! 😅
  7. Allegedly left Whiteman headed West, and crossing over the Pacific as if headed straight for Ukraine. Interesting route if the plan was to drop fire in Iran 🤷‍♂️
  8. I think those were tracked decoys.
  9. They might like to shop at Walmart or Dollar General !
  10. When cats show up around here they are 100% feral/wild. My customers boats always smell like fish, and I can't have them scratching around in there...... So they get one chance to scram for good, then if they return they get pelleted. I always feel bad about it, because they are just doing what nature intends.....but I just can't have that going on here.
  11. Yeah a pee hole problem could definitely put things into limp mode.
  12. Hell I was surprised that it picked it up so smoothly and just flew off with it. It wasn't really a full grown one.....but it wasn't a little baby by any means. Half the size of a 5lb. Coffee can !
  13. The squirrels & rabbits don't stand a chance around here because the hawks monitor the roads and get them if they try to cross. Never thought about the turtles. I wish they'd eat cats !
  14. Was standing on the porch watching a box turtle cross the road, hoping that a car didn't come down and hit him, and then ZAP........a stupid hawk nabbed it 😠 Hawks can eat a turtle???? Surely not ! Right ? 🤷‍♂️
  15. FYI: The water pump intake on a jet pump will allow line to collect in the pump housing..... and chew your impeller into tiny bits, and those bits can get blown into the powerhead, blocking cooling water passages..... Requiring a complete teardown to clean out. Just something else for ya to worry about. 😅
  16. On bodies of water that get a lot of fishing pressure..... especially since the popularity of braided line......these type of failures are becoming more & more common. I see it practically every single day Just look at the twisted splines & braided line on this 115 propshaft ! 🤑 That stuff eats seals like a hacksaw blade ! If you think that jet pumps can't be destroyed when they suck up a few yards of braided line, you're badly mistaken. 😉 So don't neglect to pay those insurance premiums, and be sure to do business with a cool outboard tech that knows how to convince any adjusters that damage from things like fishing line legally falls under the category of "IMPACT DAMAGE". 😊
  17. Years ago some fisheries biologist examined a scale sample from a longnose gar captured from Lake O, and kept as a pet at "The Aquarium".......if anyone remembers that place, (next to the Wild Mouse)..... He claimed it was soon to be 80 years old when The Aquarium went out of business, and the old gar was allegedly set free.
  18. Haven't fished it since the big flood, but for ME it is a One-Trick river. I either do good drifting/swinging a #8 leech pattern.....or I don't catch them well at all. One time there was a Caddis hatch going on (#14-16 white/green butt) and fish were rising everywhere. All chubs, not a single trout that I could tell. Switched to a soft hackle pattern...... NOTHING......Put the stupid leech rig back on, and Boom, nice bow within 10 drifts, and 2 more before dark. 🙄
  19. When you eat a pretzel you know whether or not it has enough salt on it. 😉
  20. Yep, all of those scuffs and scratches smooth right out instantly. Bigger gouges require a slightly more careful approach..... but it works just fine. We bought 6 old beat-to-hell Discovery's from an outfitter, for next to nothing, and had 4 of them as good as new in a single afternoon. 👍. It's been close to 10 years now and they STILL are fine. I don't canoe much anymore, but when I did I wasn't a fan of the "patches" on the keels. You can tell the difference immediately in how a canoe tracks if you do anything to blunt those keels.
  21. I have no experience with the "Royalex" material, but the "Polylink" hulls can be brushed CAREFULLY with a propane torch and brought back to Good as New condition.
  22. How do you say "Aoudad" without sounding like you're having a stroke ?
