  1. Just put him on an eddy that's loaded with little males......and he will stand there in silence for 3 days straight, beating on 'em. 😳 You honestly have to snatch his rod from his hands, throw a straight jacket on him, and physically drag him away......Or else he'll stay until he drops over from starvation. 😂 Dogged persistence. The boy ain't no quitter, that's for sure. Not only that, before the Whites made the jump, he was the only one in the group that put on a Crappie clinic. Could have filled every freezer in the neighborhood.
  2. Yeah, it seems that you can't time spring fish movements with the daffodils, redbuds, or dogwoods anymore. Kinda squashes the old "length of daylight" theory. It obviously hinges more on water temp, than the length of the day.
  3. Definitely. And the best is still yet to come. The big girls haven't even shown up yet. The lake is still a foot too low, but a sizable group of males shot up during the gullywasher Saturday morning.
  4. The trucks are covered in mud, the electric fillet knives are all smoking hot, and every buzzard in the county is circling my place today. 🙂 Somebody had better call the game warden ! 😎
  5. I have one in the corner, and I agree that the blank is great. The guide spacing on the one I have is screwy though. It needs to be stripped and have the guides moved and rewrapped. I should have done that over the winter when I had nothing better to do.
  6. The TF BVK is a fine feeling stick, but everyone I know that has owned one managed to break it before the cork even got dirty. Thin walled/High modulus/ SNAP!
  7. How did I get thrown into some weird personality competition with someone's female child ? 🤔
  8. I only have 3 things to say about flyfishing for bass. #1. You don't need top of the line rods, or reels, but top quality fly line is important. Mostly because of stretch. #2. 5-6wts. won't cut it. Yeah I know you can cast pretty big bugs on a 6wt., but setting the hook on a bass with a light parabolic rod is like stirring pancake batter with a piece of spaghetti. #3. Strip setting is gay. 😁
  9. Well now, THERE is a thing that can't be blamed on "over-development". Because there were more, and bigger, TREES back before bulldozers and chainsaws came along. 🤔
  10. It's one thing to not notice a kayak until you get kinda close. It's another thing to actually run one over. Big logs, and 100# dead spoonbill manage to not get hit. Usually. But missing one by only a few feet is pretty common.
  11. I guess they got too big for their britches then, hu? Don't haul off and open a gigantic store....or multitudes of them... if you don't have your staffing secured. I mean c'mon! 🙄 I could make Sims Marine dwarf all the other marine repair outfits overnight, but guess what???? No techs ! Duh!!! 🤔
  12. Hilarious ! 😂
  13. Good luck👍 And don't forget..... https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdVyLDxd/
  14. Uh oh, did somebody spill their coffee ? As long as it didn't have cream in it you're probably ok. It's probably good for them. 👍
  15. No kidding. I've always wondered why people come HERE and try to dress their place up like some tropical paradise. This is the Ozarks, not Gilligan's Island. 🙄
  16. WHAT ?!?! 😲 This is disturbing news. I really like that guy. 🤗 I bet he'd like to lop my head off with a rusty machete. 🔪
  17. Depends on what all you're having installed, and what boat you're having it installed on. Some systems are a piece of cake, and others are an overly-complicated mess that requires a extra set of hands.
  18. Depending on what electronics you are wanting installed, it may require a dedicated deep cycle battery, and that battery will need it's own secured battery tray, AND charger.....since most onboards are only 3 bank. 3 hours of labor on top of those supplies.......Hmm, 🤔 Do the math.
  19. I bet. And as close in genetics to a McCloud as the ones in Crane creek are. 😂
  20. He ain't making that nastyass coffee in MY kitchen !
  21. Why is it "far-fetched" if you don't know where it was caught ? There are either currently trout, or have (in the past) been trout, in the upper Gravois, in HaHaTonka spring, Alcorn hollow, and Rainey cr.
  22. Looks like it's over.
  23. A Grn.pumpkin/black flake 5" Chomper on a 5/16oz. Mitch Fields craw head is a staple of mine. I order the grubs direct, MINUS the garlic..... because back in the day EVERYONE was throwing garlic scented baits, and I had it in my head that the fish were getting conditioned to it. 😁 Probably doesn't matter anymore.
  24. It's always been my belief that the biggest fish are the first ones to go shallow in the Spring. But all bets are off this year. I've been plagued by short fish every time I've been out so far this spring. So far this is my best '22 bass, and I had to wade through 15-20 shorts to get it.
  25. 5's sure were a dime a dozen though. That wind was insane today. I'm glad I wasn't out there.
