  1. Finding and catching "bass' has never really been a problem for me. It's finding and catching BIGGER BASS that has always been the main obstacle. When you're consistently catching 2-3 pounders with the occasional 4-5...... Whaddya do to consistently catch 3-4 pounders with the occasional 6-7 ? Riddle me THAT !
  2. Looks like a killer. 👍
  3. You could be proud that it didn't require owning/licensing/maintaining/towing/insuring/fueling a boat. 😋
  4. These stats here are the ones I like..... Winning the day is the goal I set for myself every day, as soon as my feet hit the floor. 😋
  5. That Chartreuse over yellow is one I see mentioned alot....but have never tried. So it has its day, I assume ?
  6. The jig head that Mitch Fields designed for their HD craw is a super head for a Hula grub. I cast them right up to the shoreline and "count the rocks" all the way down the bank. Just a very slow steady drag. Killer technique.
  7. Grizzly over black has been a good combo at Bennett when the beetle/ant bite is on. #18 I experimented with it after you and Pat turned me on to it several years ago. 👍
  8. I think y'all need to realize that these companies are plotting a strategy on consumers. The military already has FFS that puts what is currently being made available to YOU, to shame. Honestly, you're better off just cooling your jets and waiting.....Unless of course, you have money to burn and you just can't bear the thought that someone might have something better than you for a few months.
  9. Trying to cast a Clouser like a Dry fly or Nymph will get you hurt.....and possibly break your rod. Keeping the line and fly moving in an elongated oval path is the way to do it. Basically forget everything you've been taught about "proper" fly casting, and think more in the terms of throwing a rock with a sling. 👍
  10. If you want me to message you when the upgrades begin to happen, I'll put you on the list.
  11. I personally can't tell the difference in taste/texture between Stripers, Hybrids, or Whites. I tend to prefer whites just because of the size/thickness of the fillets. Perfect! 😋
  12. Well that's inaccurate because they're in Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Taneycomo, Stockton, Pomme, etc. The arms off Stockton and Pomme are some of the best Say what? MDC inaccurate???? No frickin' way! 🙄
  13. The ol' gill squeeze works pretty good. I wonder if that actually harms the fish ? Doesn't seem to.
  14. Wasn't it funny though, and so TRUE ? 😅 There's really no way to get that point across without saying a curse word. Can there even be an emotional argument where nobody uses colorful language ? I bet the marital murder-rate would skyrocket if nobody could cuss. 😂
  15. Depends. In the spring, 2-4' In Summer and fall, 4-8' and sometimes...but not often... 10-12'. I've always got 3 rods rigged with the lines here...
  16. Naw, it wouldn't satisfy you. Phil's version of "going off" on someone is about as harsh as Ms.Bea scolding Opie Taylor. What you need to see is my wife light into me for throwing my dirty work clothes in a basket with one of her blouses.
  17. I'd love to take this dude down to Bennett on opening day, and throw a stick out in the middle of the stream. Boy that'd create some chaos! 😅
  18. Oh the lawyers will have a ball with that one. 👍 I'd love to see how that plays out. Plumbers and artists use propane torches too. Accidents happen.....this is why they pay for insurance, is it not ? They'll never prove that the guy intentionally committed arson. Are candles allowed in the building?
  19. Ouch! That sentence is usually spoken from someone with regrets. 😢 Sorry 🤷‍♂️ I love ya man.
  20. Hotel California, baby ! Besides, you called me and encouraged me not to. Remember? Is it my turn to encourage YOU ? 😘
  21. I could literally pick this to pieces and convince you that you're SO wrong. Instead I'll just ask a quick simple question..... If it's so bad, then why are you here?
  22. Too darn cold for me to do REAL WORK now. It's all paperwork, research, and parts ordering today. And just look at how productive I am being ! 😂
  23. Just in general I guess. I love the looks of brass eyes, and I love that they don't get all beat up and distorted when they smack the side of the boat....or a rock....or whatever. BUT to me they just aren't heavy enough (for their size). I use lead eyes. I hate that they are LEAD and I hate that they are soft and don't hold paint worth a crap.... But for my purposes they are the only option. I like 1/50oz. on a #6 1/40oz. on a #4 (and sometimes a #2) 1/30oz on anything bigger than a #2 And I never go heavier than 1/30, or lighter than 1/50 I have no use for beadchain eyes on ANYTHING.
  24. IMO a successful message board is one that keeps its members checking in routinely. Even if nobody has anything earth shattering to report regarding any current fishing NEWS there's always something interesting or controversial.....or hilarious going on here. It isn't the fishing that makes this place a daily pitstop for me..... it's the people. There's alot more that gets talked about in the kitchen, besides food. 👍
