  1. I suppose, but I haven't FIXED one yet. It's no fun taking somebody's money if I can't be a hero by actually eliminating the problem. 🙄 A 4-stroke outboard is good for 2 oil changes, 2 gear lube changes, and 1 water pump refresh. By that time they get so low on power that they can barely shove a boat back on the trailer.....and they can't be helped for a reasonable fee. They won't even live long enough to burn up the original set of spark plugs. ðŸ˜Ē
  2. The only place you'll find sympathy is between $#!t and Syphilis in the dictionary.
  3. I'm too open and mouthy. I haven't been able to pull off an April Fool's caper all day. 😏
  4. Possibly. I'm running 1960's vintage memory equipment here, so some details get a bit convoluted at times.
  5. A guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse for both my 89 XP150 Evinrude and my 1988 35hp flats boat pusher. I'm gonna take that money, add in my tax return, and our stimulus payments, and order myself a pair of 4-stroke Mercs to replace them.
  6. Better get ya some!
  7. You are independently wealthy (I know this because of the things you eat), so don't sell the boat. Keep it at home so that you can tow it wherever you want and use it whenever the urge suits you......And go out with friends and guides also...... whenever it suits you. That's the kind of freedom you worked your whole life for. 👍
  8. Oh, and I don't think Tom Mann had anything to do with "Gulp" technology. That was somebody else. Do you remember when banana scent was discovered to be irresistible to bass? Wonder what ever happened to that? It was much more pleasant than garlic. 😅
  9. The only reason I can think of for you to be skeptical would be if you were 20 years younger than me and never read fishing books and magazines. Unless something in the fish behavior study world has changed, the plastic worm is supposed to be the only known lure that bass can't be conditioned to avoid. It's been written/repeated 100 times. That's how BS that a biologist says miraculously becomes written in stone and accepted as "solid fact".
  10. A study done long ago, allegedly by fisheries biologists, concluded that bass could not be conditioned to avoid biting plastic worms. After a days rest they would forget about them being fake and would bite them again and again. But a plastic lizard or plastic crawdad allegedly had "elements" that stayed engrained in their memory....and therefore fish could be "conditioned" to avoid them. So there's that. 🙄
  11. Here's what you do, assuming that you have a voltmeter on your helm. Turn the key on, look to see what voltage is available, and if it is not noticably above 12v turn everything off.....wait about 30-45 seconds....then try to start the motor. Don't ever hit the trim button or power pole button before starting the motor, because those pump motors draw just as much juice as your starter does. Attempting to crank the motor on a low battery....while it is still drawing a load from electronics or a Livewell pump....will zap the last little bit of cranking amps everytime. Everybody ignores it, but that voltmeter is the most important guage on the console.
  12. I'm getting lots and LOTS of calls about dead battery's and motors not starting after a few hours of fishing. The only answer I have for all you new-age Electric Fishermen is:.....Buy more and bigger batteries ! I'm blown away by how many electrical circuits are required to go fishing nowadays. It's a world gone mad.
  13. I think skunks are born dead on the highway. That's the only place I ever see them.
  14. The pressure relief valve in the pump body (designed to save the motor should you hit an object while underway) sticks closed and fails to allow fluid to bypass the cylinder. Excess pressure builds up and something has to give. In this case it is the 1/8" thick cast aluminum ram housing. Therefore just replacing the ram housing is not THE FIX..... because it will just bust another one. You would have to overhaul the pump assembly as well (which flat-rates at 4.7 hours+ R&R). So Parts + Labor exceeds the cost of a complete tilt/trim assembly.
  15. Yep. ðŸĪ— One bonafide cure for blowing a nut too soon, is to be hiding lots of pain. You can go ALL NIGHT LONG when you're in fear of being eaten alive or bleeding out. Try jacking off in a blackberry thicket sometime, that's pretty much the way it was. ðŸĪĢ
  16. I haven't been out myself yet, but I would expect them to be running the banks, and hanging around brush and stickups in about 7 foot of water. That's the typical late March-early April scenario around here.
  17. Couldn't cook for $#!t, but I was able to overlook that. What I couldn't get used to was all the biting, scratching, pinching and hickey making. I had to hide for a week after taking that wildcat for a ride, because I looked like I had been in a fight with a mountain lion. I ain't into pain, and I don't really care for horses, so I was somewhat relieved when our little fling fizzled out. Gals like that should have warning labels somewhere visible before the clothes come off. ðŸĪŠ
  18. How are they supposed to know it isn't just a big log laying there ? That's the whole game, ya know!
  19. Yeah......Neat ðŸ˜ģ I've spent some time around Alligators, and I've decided that I can do without them. 😏
  20. Woah! That's one hell of a lizard ! ðŸ˜ģ
  21. I did ! And I have the scars to prove it.
  22. Did I ever tell y'all the story about hooking up with a cowgirl during my online dating phase ?
  23. Yee Haw! 😎 Wear one of them belt buckles the size of a S-10 hubcap too. ðŸĪ
  24. I'm the biggest lightweight ever. I'd fall asleep after 3 beers.
