  1. My dog sits and patiently waits for me to toss him the egg sacks.....so I gotta knife the females when I can get them.
  2. Leave that jet outboard to sit in a warehouse for very long....and see how quickly it leaps into service when you "need" it. šŸ˜‚
  3. I've never bought into that line of BS. We learned more from the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
  4. I don't know alot about the 2020 models. My specific (intricate) knowledge of any outboard ends at around 2012.... because that's about the age when they first start coming to me. So, with that disclaimer out of the way, I'll just say that Evinrude has HANDS DOWN the best track record of dependability and smart design of any outboard ever manufactured. And even though they have stopped selling new outboards I wouldn't hesitate buying one for a second. I would absolutely buy a newish Evinrude 200 before I would even consider buying a stupid 4-stroke from any of the other big 3 manufacturers, because their track record is pathetic in comparison.
  5. Since we're on a rabbit strip kick....Have I ever showed you the "Grumpy ol' Troll" ?
  6. Garden hackle šŸ‘
  7. It's a heavy stainless hook (Mustad 34007) #1/0 for creek bass, #2 for Whites. Pink strip, white deer belly hair. I fish it just under the surface with a floating line. Visual strikes. The pink is easy to see....so when it suddenly disappears, SET THE HOOK! 😊
  8. Nothing does Crawdad duty like a 1/2" wide hunk of rabbit flesh behind some dumbbell eyes either.
  9. It'll get bit, no doubt. šŸ‘ This one here has been a Spring time killer for me going on 12 years now. Whites in high dirty water, and LM/SM on spawning beds will absolutely destroy this dude.
  10. What does Emergency Management have to train for illegal immigrants for? What are THEY supposed to do? Go hunt them down and give them jobs chasing tornadoes?
  11. How far back was it (allegedly) that they were so prolific ? Biologists seem to want everyone to believe that once upon a time you couldn't skip a rock without hitting one. I suspect that's BS.
  12. Oh yay! I was afraid we had quit playing that game. šŸ¤˜šŸ˜šŸ‘
  13. It's only 4 little 7/16 bolts, c'mon now, don't be a puss ! šŸ˜…
  14. Noooo! Remove the bottom screw on the coupler, releasing the lower shift rod.....Then remove the lower unit. Once the lower unit is removed you'll be able to properly align the coupler on the upper shift rod. Then when the lower unit goes back on you can properly align the lower shift rod. This is a good time to install a fresh water pump impeller.
  15. You have to disassemble the coupler and re-align the 2 piece shift rod. There are detents in both rods. You'll understand after you have it apart.
  16. There is a brass shift rod coupler behind that cover. It likely that the shift rods aren't properly aligned in the coupler. I'm giving away a sneaky caper of mine here.😁 I'm almost ashamed to tell you how many perfectly good 9.9-20 HP motors that I've bought for next to nothing because they thought the lower unit was trashed.
  17. No. Does it not have a oval cover on the starboard side? Like this.... That is just unburned fuel/oil from the exhaust tube, leaking out. Nothing to worry about unless it becomes excessive every time you run the motor.
  18. And the reason that everyone in California is batshit crazy....is because they have nowhere else to go. Like fish congregated at a dam.
  19. If you just need to replace the rope take the 2 back caps off.... These and start pulling all the rope off. If the rope isn't totally wasted you can wash it off real good, singe the frayed spots with a cigarette lighter, and put it back in. Or get new rope. To reinstall..... Attach one side, twist the rope up as tight as you can (to reduce its diameter), in 2-3' sections, and start tapping it back into the groove with a clean rubber mallet. Do that all the way around to the other securing cap BUT DON'T CUT THE ROPE. After it sets awhile the rope will untwist. Once it is done relaxing THEN you can cut the rope, singe the ends, and reattach the other securing cap.
  20. Leaving august 29 glen. So SO TEMPTING!!! šŸ¤”
  21. That is a fattie! šŸ‘
  22. Keeps the moisture out, probably better than shrink boot.
  23. I can't think of anything fishier than a strip of rabbit hide. Especially in water with some stain in it.
  24. The only reason I can think of to eat carp would be if I couldn't catch anything else, and the nearest Dollar General was closed.
  25. I'm all electric here, and can build a wood fire if the power goes out. I don't like having gas pumped into my house. I witnessed the whole town of Centralia go up in flames when I was a kid, and have been anti-gas/propane ever since.
