We are animals too. The reason that America was populated from East to West was because they followed the prevailing wind. How's that for some Wrenchology ? 😁

They shouldn't allow unshowered naked men with mondo penises to run around pooping in the street with nothing but a hat on. No wonder there's so much traffic.....People are trying to get as far away from guys like YOU as they possibly can.

Playing with new baitfish patterns
fishinwrench replied to tangledup's topic in Fly Tying Discussions & Entymology
Looks like it could have some action, because of that fat midsection. Give one a water test. I always make sure a new fly design has something going for it BEFORE tying up a dozen of them. Lots of flys that look really cool just come through the water like a leaf or a stick. A standard Deceiver is a good example....That thing does NOTHING. The only reason it is a famous fly pattern is because you can cast it a mile, and sometimes under certain conditions (a blitz) that's all that matters. -
It would be cool if he could see fit to keep the deer out of the road, and the bat viruses out of the news. Speaking of which.....How long has it been since you've heard anything about CWD ? Did we actually get though a whole deer season without anybody mentioning it ? By golly I think we did. There's a miracle for ya! 😅

A big blob of Dielectric grease in all of the bulb sockets, and Liquid Tape on the white wire (ground) connection and all of the butt connectors and splices. Do that and your trailer lights will last almost forever. The only periodic maintenance you'll need to do is to hit the plug pins occasionally with a wire brush to keep them clean.

Speaking of that.....My wife picked up some boneless chicken breasts from Save-A-Lot yesterday that were big enough to have been from a turkey. I made a stir-fry this evening from one HALF of a breast.....and it fed 4 of us. Judging from the size of these breast fillets, those chickens were the size of my Labrador Retriever. 😳

Been quite a while, but yeah it's really awesome. Take plenty of DEET ! The deer flys and black flys are genuine bastards. We caught alot of Smallmouth and Pike on flyrod poppers. The best fish of the trip was a 12# Pike. Lots of Smallmouth in the 12-15" range. I'd love to go back.

It's probably the same stuff. "Fumed Silica" You can actually buy it through Amazon for like 15.00/pound.....which would be enough to last you 3 lifetimes. No idea what its true intended purpose is, but it isn't for keeping fishing flys afloat. 😅 But of course I dig the cute little bottles and brush that have that too cool frog guy chillin' on it. 😁

On the Shannon streamer? I don't think we've caught any real impressive bass on them, but plenty of sports models. The bass in the Little Niangua are especially fond of them. It's one of my kids favorite flys because you get to see the bite.

I dig the bottom ones. A light coating of fabric paint (clear glitter) will fill in those holes and push water good. I've done it. 👍

I would have to. Gotta spend at least an hour sipping coffee and thinking about my day ahead. Then I'll have to poop, and get dressed. Have breakfast...... You know the drill.

So now they want to blame septic runoff, anti-depressants, and birth control pills for making the green bass pelagic? 🙄 Couldn't possibly be all the tournaments shuffling and relocating bass every day of the week. 😏

I have noticed that with all of that kinda stuff (cactus chenille, palmer chenille, eztaz, ect.). It comes partially unwound during packaging I think. Tie it in and then twist it up like a dubbing loop until it "tightens" back up. Double it over if you have to.

Just once I'd like to drive somewhere and not see 200+ other vehicles per mile the whole way. I'd actually enjoy the drive. It's those occasional near head-ons that keep me all tensed up. Road warriors that drive so much that they get all lax and cavalier about what that yellow dotted line means. Well there's plenty to go wrong with trailers.... that's for sure. Bunks, wheels, lights, tires, winch, ect. Seems it's always something. I've got 16 trailers in my yard right now, and I bet there isn't a single one that doesn't have an issue of some sort.

Jack each wheel up, check for any side-to-side wobble, look behind the wheel hub for any signs of escaped grease, then give it a good spin. If it spins freely and smoothly without any noticable scratchy noises, then pump some grease into the bearing buddy until it won't accept any more.....and consider it good for 300-400 miles. (or in MY CASE, a whole season 😅)

I don't necessarily believe that individual fish migrate up the same watershed on purpose. And certainly don't ONLY run up a certain river because that's the one they were born in. That's all just more nonsense sold by people who were paid to know such things....and nobody has seen fit to debunk it. For instance:. White bass and walleye run up every tributary of an impoundment in great numbers.....Yet before the river was dammed, and the impoundment formed they only ran up the major ones that had decent flow. Stripers and Hybrid stripers, that were born in a hatchery far-far away, run up every single tributary of the lakes they are stocked into. Likewise with spoonbill. Fish (all fish) recognize water movement.....and they travel in THAT direction unless (and until) something impassable prevents it.

Fellows Lake New Bait Shop
fishinwrench replied to slabstacker's topic in Fellows Lake, Springfield Lake, McDaniels Lake
Concerned about new species??? Weren't they stocking with Musky? -
I don't know about anyone else, but I absolutely hate working with Chocklett's "minnow body wrap". That stuff sucks! Hareline has some stuff called "Frizzle Chenille" that makes way better Gamechanger's up to a size 1/0 If you're still using that stupid Chocklett body wrap, just go ahead and thank me now.
