  1. "Ace Professionals" are Snap-on knockoffs. Pretty darn good, and priced very reasonably. Craftsman's are great too.... depending on what you're working on. In many cases (in my line of work) they are just too fat/thick, and the angle is off. A truly good wrench will never leave you in that awkward position where you can't continue the rotation by flipping the wrench over.
  2. For the most part "bargain SETS" are a pile of junk. Make a list of the tools you need and shop for them separately. Nothing pisses me off worse than a 2.00 pair of needle nose, or a 3.00 pair of side cutters. I'd rather just tackle the job with my pocket knife and a set of salad tongs.
  3. I suggest that you work even harder at it than THEY do. 👍
  4. Everything Craftsman is great..... except their ratchets. All these years and they never figured out how to make a decent 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2" ratchet. 🙄 Breaker bars and sockets are fine.
  5. You aren't gonna need a hydrofoil. Motor just needs to come up a bit. You're gonna take a shower running it like that. Take some soap and a towel. 😅
  6. It wasn't ticks that caused me so much grief last year. It was those friggin oak mites or whatever they are called. Made me miserable for 2 solid months and nothing I tried kept them off of me. Seriously I'd rather have ticks and chiggers.
  7. Nope, wasn't interested. My "high performance" phase didn't last very long (less than 2 years). Only really undertook 3 hotrod outboard projects and all exploded prematurely. I'm not a good high performance guy, I'm more into building things that last instead of things that go fast. I'm digging the new rig JD. 👍
  8. Listened to the POTUS and the VP cackle for 40 minutes about what a good job they are doing with TESTING. Far as I can tell the only thing gained by all this testing is that now we have NUMBERS to add to the topic. The testing isn't doing anything to help anyone, it's just enhancing panic. They still don't know where the positive test result cases came from, or where it's headed. A local school bus driver tested positive and they drilled him for 2 days straight about where all he'd been for the last 2 weeks.....nothing useful or helpful was learned, nobody else in his house tested positive, not even his wife that he slept with every night, or his ride share buddy.....so WTF are we doing here? A logical pattern is not detectable.
  9. Many of their kids attend public school....and the school has been closed. But just for kicks tonight my wife grabbed the letters (3 of them) that were sent home, and nothing in those letters alluded to the fact that it was a statewide/nationwide thing. Honestly if we had no TV, computer, or smartphone we'd likely just assume that a flu bug was going around our local school, and that's all. Nothing in the letters indicate otherwise. We just kinda found that interesting. Media...Are we better off with it, or without it? 🤔 Do we really need to know what's going on worldwide, or are we ok just being aware of what happens in our personal little town? I remember when the dreaded "war on terror" was being force fed into my brain. My personal attitude was that I wasn't being "terrorized" at all in MY circles, and honestly I wasn't very concerned about the people being terrorized elsewhere. It's not like there was anything I could do to help them out or anything. I'll deal with the dandelions in MY YARD, but the dandelions in YOUR YARD are not my problem.
  10. I thought a "factoid" was a fact that nobody thought to consider.
  11. The story could have ended right there. 🙄 Here's an interesting factoid for ya....The Amish community in Morgan and Monitau county knows nothing about any of this. A customer that works with a bunch of them says they are all asking why certain places are closed and others are doing "odd business". They actually have no idea.
  12. Last two numerical digits are the year, that's all I know.
  13. Well if you miss the hustle and bustle, just come on by. It's hopping around here! Two nice days in a row.... people are breaking out! General consensus among the hardcore fishing community seems to be....."They don't care, bring on the Corona". I ain't shaking their hands, and I'm trying to maintain a boats distance between us.....until they reach for their billfold anyway.😊 Figure I have enough fuel and grease on me to kill any virus.
  14. Well if there's anything NEW going on I'd like to stay in the loop. Not exactly comfortable slamming the door on the whole thing just yet.
  15. What a galactic crock of BS ! So typical of MDC 🙄 Does that go for Taneycomo as well? Really? Why not?
  16. The small engine shops have bills to pay too. Their labor rate is way more reasonable than the likes of... you know who 😁 Just get off you're wallet and let them feed a kid, would ya? It won't hurt at all. 😊
  17. I agree 🙄 I'm beginning to get a little tired of hearing the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. We get it, ok? EVERYBODY GETS IT!!!! That uncomfortable feeling of being brainphucked started bothering me about 3 days ago, and I'm on the verge of crossing back over to the "ok, this is BS" side.
  18. Smile in the mirror, and don't let the basturds get you down. 👍
  19. I think they'll still stock the park. It costs more to keep on feeding them in the hatchery raceways.
  20. As if any of us waited this long to buy one. 🙄 They only made it free because they knew nobody would be out checking.....is my guess.
  21. Well they raised the price of a trout stamp this year, for no apparent reason. I guess now it's a push. Funny how things work out, hu? 😊
  22. What's killing all the beavers? All the women in the house were having a bitching session last night, obviously succumbing to the quarantine, and I was tying flys and minding my own business (staying out of it), the two oldest ones were teamed up against the youngest and mom. After a 20 minute constant barrage of insults and blaming one stomped out of the room in a snit and there was a brief moment of silence.....so I calmly looked up and said "There's a dead beaver at the ramp". Everyone suddenly came together and simultaneously said "Awe!" 😂 Now it's a running joke. I ran down there and took a pic of it, so the next time they start screaming at each other I'll just do a group text. 😅
