  1. I don't know about you and your canoe, but I would have a hard time spinning around in mine to prime and pull start a weedeater that was mounted behind me. Link me that video, I wanna see how easily that dude pulls it off.
  2. Do they get a percentage of total sales tax in Maryland? I'm not bothered by the 3.00 at all, just wondered how they justified the increase while doing less management. Are you one of those that think government programs should never get wondered about or questioned? You wouldn't bat an eye at paying 20.00/gal. for gas? Don't you dare! You just be thankful that you have gas available!
  3. Whatever a person does AFTER they've completed what they were paid to do, is their business. But when things aren't getting done....
  4. Working? More like playing Candy Crush and watching porn. 🙄
  5. Then it should warrant their own trout raising program. How does that make "pretty simple" sense? Rural area tax revenue hasn't GONE DOWN, it has INCREASED......So if that's the mentality then rural area folks should have a bit more, or at least the same amount of trout management that they've had in the past. They shouldn't be taking from the rural allotment to give to urban areas. Just raise more specifically for the urban area management, and at least keep the management efforts the same for rural area folks, and the Red/White ribbon streams. The Bennett Spring hatchery runs at 1/3 its capacity. If they need more trout for the urbanites then fire up all those other raceways and buy some more food. They are getting PAID to do exactly that.
  6. That should be ok. We don't need 8500 biologists and 6700 fisheries managers in this state. About 20 of each should be able to handle it. I'm 100% opposed to the way the MDC thinks. Show me ONE dedicated trout fisherman that cut his teeth by first catching a trout in a Missouri bass pond. If it's truly a "recruitment effort" then it is the stupidest one ever.
  7. From the posts on FB the urban trout are well above pan size. Alot of 2-3 pounders. Why can't the white ribbon areas get a fair number of those?
  8. Why did the trout tags take a $3 hike this year? Is that to cover the gas for the stupid urban trout program ?
  9. I do the same. I just hug the slow side and pull it up the riffles (as I fish them) if they are too fast to paddle or pole thru. I've thought about rigging a TM (lower shaft only) straight off the rear for forward thrust, with a switch under the seat, and using a paddle to rudder one side or the other, to steer. I still might engineer something like that someday. I just don't like them hanging on one side.
  10. A clamp on hand operated TM would be better than a foot operated one. The issue I have with using a TM on a canoe, other than a square stern model, is that it kills the balance. You step out of the canoe....and it falls over on its side. Try to pull it over a portage and it's like dragging your drunk buddy from the bonfire to the car. If you want a trolling motor then get a Jon boat and leave the canoe for paddling. 😊
  11. Sounds like good physical therapy to me.
  12. Sugarbritches says "why don't you rest your lip for awhile" when she wants me to shut up. 🙄 I oughta start telling people that my wife beats me. Get myself some victim compensation creds, and turn her in for domestic violence.
  13. We're down to a half a jar. I hope the bee's do their job well this year. 😊 How many jars do you have left from '19 ?
  14. That's a good buy. Not really what you'd want for a canoe.....I wouldn't think.
  15. Suzuki and Nissan/Tohatsu are famous for broken parts and fasteners during disassembly. I've mentioned that on here more than once I'm sure. I don't think I've ever swapped a head gasket or thermostat housing on a Jap outboard without breaking at least 2 bolts. Have had numerous water pump housing bolts seized also. Suzuki's and Honda's are actually the only motors that I'll turn away. Tech info is sketchy, parts are hard to source, and I just don't wanna work on them....other than just regular maintenance stuff. Suzuki had a V6 in the '80's with 12 spark plugs and an ignition system that was a nightmare to troubleshoot. After a few rounds with those I swore off Suzuki's forever. I don't see enough of them to justify the time it would take to learn their theory of operation. Good motors though. The guys on the coast swear by them, some with 7000+ hours in saltwater and still running.
  16. It's a good thing I had my big mouth closed or I'd likely be missing a few teeth. Watch those rubber bungee straps, boys! They are like a pissed off cottonmouth.
  17. How the hell did you do THAT?!!!! We're upside down in this POS NOW! That's it, you're fired! 😂
  18. Is that a trigger from a can of bear spray? 😂
  19. If I was a doctor I'd say it was skin cancer, blame it on the sun or Marlboro's, and schedule a biopsy immediately. I keep it clean with peroxide or alcohol, and have tried Triple antibiotic, Neosporin, X balm, and Aquaphor.... nothing seems to help it much. It's impossible not to pick at a scab that's flapping around on your lip. I'll try Aloe.
  20. I'm sure there's someone around there that can fix you up. Who does @Phil Lilley use?
  21. Since everyone on here is playing medical professional lately..... I got kissed by a bungee cord over 2 months ago and put a big divot in my upper lip, and it refuses to completely heal. Everytime it starts to smooth over I either take a bite of a sandwich and crack it, or I irritate it shaving, or I shave and then my whiskers start poking through it as they grow. Plus I can't stop picking at it. How do you deal with that? What would a doctor say?
  22. When I was very young our family doctor would prescribe either penicillin or ampacillin for anything you came in there for. Even a ear ache. Actually he'd usually give you a shot of it in the office THEN prescribe 2 weeks worth of it in pill form. After my mom finished all of her med schooling there was no more going to the doctor unless we broke a bone or needed stitches. When I grew up and had a kid of my own everything was diagnosed as an "upper respiratory infection". It's like that's all they knew how to say at the doctor's office. I eventually started seeing the pattern and just quit taking her to the doctor unless she needed shots for school. It has all worked out fine. I just don't believe that people need doctors and medicine near as much as they think they do.
  23. So much wrong 😏 and now you don't even have an excuse.
  24. You were into the bottle before me, Mr. "Karma People". 😅
  25. I appreciate you telling me. Alot of people believe incorrect things, I'm definitely not immune. Living by those beliefs sure has served me well though, so far. It's interesting how something so wrong can work so well.
