  1. I got it saved but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. For some reason I always associated Joe Brooks with Eastern waters (Pennsylvania/New York/New Hampshire ect.). From the sounds it seems that he wasn't a 5 county guy ?
  2. Thanks for the heads up. Will set it to record.
  3. My girls used to write poems about me, back when they thought I hung the moon. 😊 Need to find those, frame them, and hang them all over the house... because they've long forgotten how freakin' awesome I am. 😂
  4. You don't need a livewell switch if you can't get a fish landed. 😂
  5. I hope to be a big enough jackass that someone writes a song about me when I'm gone. 😊
  6. I've installed a lot of them, and honestly have never seen a bad one. Some are cheesier than others and you may have a switch go bad or a breaker fail to reset in the future, but you'll have that regardless of which one you use. I'd avoid any that have fuse links with caps instead of breakers, but other than that just go with one that suits your needs. I'm not a fan of rocker switches but that's just a personal thing.
  7. 5 hwy.? You mean 54 hwy.? You won't find any Whites that far up the LN. (Mack's Creek). The closest Spring White run for you would be below Tunnel dam on the Niangua or the J Rd. bridge on the LN.

    What's Cooking?

    No Ham!
  9. Was? Has he passed ?
  10. Yikes! Must just be that area of the lake, cuz I ran down and hit a spot from the bank Sunday afternoon (just to see if the Whites were there) and caught 2 keeper LM and 3 shorts in about 20 minutes on a lipless crankbait. Zeroed on the Whites but I got the impression that the green fish were on a pretty good bite.
  11. I haven't been out for over a week, personally, but from what I'm hearing the topwater bite is pretty good right now. Backs of wide coves for LM, and out around wave breaks and deep docks on the mainlake for fat Kentucky's. Spook, Chug bug, Buzzbait. Nobody is talking about the WP....so it's either not producing very well, or it's the best bite going.
  12. Semi related.

    What's Cooking?

Ham is for Christmas dinner. Turkey is for Thanksgiving. Thats just a rule that should never be broken. But she's breaking it. I want a divorce. 💔

    What's Cooking?

Sugarbritches and I have been arguing for days because even though this Thanksgiving will be our smallest (group size) ever.....she has decided to do both a Turkey AND a Ham. Rediculous. #1. I don't see the point in it. #2. Who wants to smell ham while eating turkey, or vise-versa? #3. Afterwards, for leftovers, now there's going to be a choice that has to be made, and it's a rather hard one. The only ones happy about this plan is her and the dog.
  16. I can't help feeling that becoming too reliant on electronics is gonna do one of two things.... It's either going to take the fun/sport out of the process, or it will eventually make you smart enough that you no longer even need the electronics, at which point most will lose interest and take up golf. I know that if I felt that I knew all the answers I'd gradually get bored with it and my fishing trips would get shorter each time out, and the time between trips would get longer.
  17. Turnover either happens slowly and gradually, or it happens suddenly, depending on how drastic or how suddenly the weather pattern changes. A turnover caused by a hard cold rainy spell should hypothetically not put the fish off since the cool sinking water would be rich in oxygen. The adaptation period of slowing metabolism being the only thing effecting the fish. When you begin noticing less insects flying around you can be assured that turnover (to a degree) has begun on all area lakes.
  18. Not bad for a cell phone pic, hu? This MotoZ has a beast camera, I'm always shocked at how well the pics turn out.
  19. Nope, a #16 is 11-12mm We're not measuring the hook here, we're measuring the completed fly.
  20. Your bracket that you have mounted to the shift arm is confusing me. The linkage rod should go directly to the shift arm, and there should be a guide plate at the jet pump..... I think. The configurations are many and often rather hokey.

    What's Cooking?

Yep, I knew it. You aren't allowed to share a plate of fried fish and hush puppies with another gal either......even if your Sig-O doesn't eat fish. Now you can gift them RAW FISH..... that's ok.... but bygod you don't cook it and deliver it to them while it's still warm unless you wanna sleep in the recliner chair for 3 nights. Been there/Done that. 😏
  22. At Bennett the 16's and 18's only get looked at. The 20's get slurped in more times than not.
  23. I know that they can still be found roaming the shallow flats more than 2 miles from what I consider "deep water" at 42° If shad are present then the Whites and LM are probably there also. Catching them on a fierce bite is a chance deal though.....Hit it just right and you can load up on them. Always seems to be on those nasty days when you'd rather just stay home and sit by the fireplace.😊
  24. I ran out for a quick check this afternoon, up here around the access, just to see if they were patrolling the usual spots. Caught 7-8 short green bass right away but not a single White. I'll get a little more serious about it after all my obligations are filled. Glad you found a mess. 👍
  25. That clay does have a certain smell. When I go up there and get a whiff of it, it always brings back memories.
