  1. Who won it last year, or has everyone else already forgotten too ? No checking on the internet !!!
  2. Yay! I want one. I feel the need to label my wife and these children daily. When I was just a little 3/16 wrench I got ahold of dad's label maker and put REFRIGERATOR on the fridge, PHONE on the phone, OVEN....SINK....and so on. I got yelled at. 😥 Nobody but me thought it was cool. Actually I got yelled at twice....cuz mom broke a nail getting the one off the toaster.
  3. Those aren't real bowfishers, they're just folks who IDENTIFY as bowfishers. I've decided to identify as a younger and more well hung version of myself, so I guess the first step is getting my birth certificate changed.
  4. Can you still buy those label makers and rolls of stuff ? I haven't seen one of those in ages.

    What's Cooking?

Thanks for Guinea pig'n that recipe. Now I need to spend some time in the woods so I can experience it. Can't wait! Haven't had squirrel pot pie since I was 11-12 years old.
  6. The old days of Bennett are among my best memories. I learned short-line nymphing from Mike Alred who was a friend of Ed and Kay's at Spring View. Learned sight fishing from crankyass ol' Jack B. back when he was way more friendly and less of a prick. Learned dry fly techniques from an old dude with the last name of Kramer (can't recall his first name but he was originally from my home town). Back then, as a young kid, you just had to pester someone until they finally took a liking to you....then they'd share all kinds of good stuff with ya. 😎
  7. Interesting how a thread about clicker counters turns into a 6 page long thread about lure retriever's. This is why you can't pass up reading EVERY thread on the entire forum in its entirety. If you don't your gonna miss something really good. 🙃
  8. You hear about these accidents where a car/truck just "looses control" goes off the road and hits a tree or causes a head-on with another vehicle.... Who's to say if the airbag went off BEFORE or AFTER the impact? The dang airbag might have caused it.
  9. Seriously! The Tahoe I recently bought has an issue with the dash lights and dome over-ride. It can't be as simple as power/ground/switch/bulb.....Oh NO, because there's a "chassis control module" in the mix. Thanks GM for assuming that I'm too stupid to know when to turn the lights on and off, and when to lock the doors. Really appreciate that. 😡 A customer in a fairly new Ford didn't secure his hitch lock on his trailer when he left my shop with his boat. The trailer jumped off the hitch and when the safety chains DID THEIR JOB guess what happened? The jolt set off the stupid AIRBAGS ! Yeah....so be ready for that surprise when driving down the highway pulling a trailer. Just brilliant.
  10. Want me to start saving old spark plugs for ya ?
  11. Damnit, I was doing a fine job of staying out of this thread, but now there's a bowfishin problem in Honduras that requires my input. Our country needs to send a team of our biologist's over there to assist......for life. (or at least until retirement age)
  12. I don't crappie fish much, nor do I get very serious about it when I do. But there are alot of times when a jig just hanging there is the ONLY way to catch'em. Slip-bobbin is a solid technique that any crappie guy needs in his bag of tricks.
  13. Now that's cool ! 👍🙂
  14. There's not a post office within my 5 county area that I would trust with these. More precious than diamonds 🤗 So you'll have to meet me on the stream bank and make me a sandwich.
  15. I was gonna keep this a secret, but what fun is that? So here ya go......The 9mm Wrench The fuzzy head, the Pearl tinsel rib, and the antron fibers hanging back are the key elements (along with the size - 9mm) Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. 😊
  16. I'll spend about 3.5 minutes trying to find a trailer light problem, if it takes longer than 10 minutes to fix the issue then it gets a whole new light kit/harness/the works. Ain't nobody got time for that BS.
  17. Thill pear shaped slip bobbers with the 5" tube will fall over when a crappie takes the weight off it. They are the only ones I keep in my crappie box.
  18. It used to be that the Winter jerkbait bite didn't really happen until the shad started dying off in late February. It's my opinion that the reason it works nearly all year round now is because all the lost fish due to being relocated have just become suspending wanderers.
  19. I was thinking that I fished it the first year, but if it was that early then I'm wrong. Had to have been the very early '80's for me. I remember one hell of a New year's Eve party at Spring View flyshop back when my buddies and I were still underage.
  20. There's a 3 second rule ya know. You gotta dive quickly.
  21. I think today would have been a perfect day to go. I can't imagine there'd be much of a crowd and the stream is always beautiful with a blanket of snow, but I talked myself out of it. It's a good day to stay home and tie flys too.
  22. No, me either, but he should be enough of one to know the difference between a prairie chicken and a woodpecker don't ya think?
  23. The phrase "just smart enough to be dangerous" has never been more appropriate.
  24. Ok, but let's wait until they are all home from church. 😊
