That pretty much nailed it. Best way I've ever heard it put. There's a place for them, but it isn't in the yard of every third trailer in the park.

Diving into a brushpile would kinda suck, but ramming your face into a PVC porcupine could make you ugly for life.

Brush placed along the sides of docks will (if not anchored well) end up out in front of the dock, just like trees get placed in backwater eddys on a river. Waves coming in and bouncing back out create a significant current and the dock creates an eddy.

You go girl ! Matters not to me because I have boats fit for any size/type of water that I want to fish, but I do understand and support guys that only own one boat and attempt to make do (In this case by Idling OR using only the trolling motor). What burns my a$$ is people that go all "letter of the law" neighborhood watch about SOME things, and then crack a beer on the tailgate at Bennett Spring state park or something similar. I could certainly understand if they were doing hole-shots between kayaks but I just don't see the harm in someone trolling across lake Spfld with a cold 225 hanging on the back of the boat.....or even idling for that matter. That's all I'm sayin'.

What are they hurting/damaging? Sounds as if those "rules" are flexible and/or dependent upon how/who/what, ect. Is it Fishing you enjoy, or is playing vigilante even more enjoyable ?

The number of hooks for limb lines is the same as trotline and jugs. Yes they need to be labeled. Not sure on the rod fishing while a max # of baited hooks are out but I would assume not and keep the limbline hooks a few short just to err on the legal side.

My neighbors have free ranging pits and they are good to have around (nothing ever gets stolen around here), but I agree with the "type" that choose pits for pets....Why? !!! I generally love all dogs, med-large ones moreso than the "cats that bark" type, and never have a problem with them until I get on my mountain bike. I can deal with just about any dog UNLESS they see me on the bike. Even good old labs and golden retrievers turn into Cujo when they see me pedaling, and that pisses me off!

A Carolina rigged Zoom Centipede catches more cats for me than any other artificial bait. Seems I catch a catfish or three everytime I throw one. Especially flatheads ...and often BIG ones.

Been at least 8 years for me. Back when Ben Johns was on the loose everyone there was packing shotguns, including several that were considerably more dangerous than Ben was. "The Bend" is not a place for the timid, or the easily offended. IOW, they don't take kindly to folks that don't take kindly.

5 years from now 'they' will be saying that sunblock causes cancer. Call me stoopid but I'm of the thinking that my body doesn't require commercial chemical products to survive in the climate that I was born into. I love the sun, and the way it feels on my skin. Been "overdosing" on it all my life and have no desire to stop (or block) now. Pretty sure that carb cleaner, nail polish and hair spray fallout is gonna kill me way before the sun does. LOL

Oh they manage it for recreation alright....just not OUR kind of recreation. They always make sure that the lake is 659ish and held stable for the poker runs and powerboat shootouts, but they don't give even a fraction of a $#!t about how those drastic overnight drawdowns in the Spring & Fall effect the fish (or the fishing).

Depends on how fast you like to cover water. I can easily spend all day on a 4-5 mile stretch if it's a decent one.

So maybe we should deduct from this that FISH ARE EVERYWHERE, and the old school line of thought that 90% of the fish are in 10% of the body of water....is/was Wrong? Or are you maybe exploiting that "lost" 10% ?

Show me a new father that doesn't love his kid....OR his wife/girlfriend. I can show you 3 girls real quick that don't want anything to do with their babies daddys except make sure their life sucks. I have a 19 year old daughter that has plenty of friends....so I get to see/hear the REAL DEAL more than I even want to. Trust me, it ain't all about a bunch of boys being total bums out there. There's another side of the coin that alot of people conveniently never look at.
