  1. Just below the mouth of the Little Niangua.
  2. From the looks of the river guages the Niangua basin didn't catch much of the rain so it should be in better shape than the other arms. The Little Ni caught enough to spike it 8' so the upper end of it will probably be muddy for a few days. I expect that the bite overall will be pretty darn slow throughout the weekend if the weather predictions are accurate. If I HAD to fish I'd wanna be in the Big Niangua above Barnes, or in the lower mainlake area.
  3. If you can put in 3 straight FULL days of fishing just prior to the event then you'll know exactly what to do and where to go when it counts. By "full days" I mean 24 hrs either eliminating areas or ideas....or thinking about eliminating areas or ideas. The real "thought tuning" happens in the evenings (or as you're lying in bed) after each day on the water. That's when you do your clearest thinking. Don't try to think or rationalize too much when you're on the water, sort all those thoughts out later when you can look back on what you learned that day. Organize your intel THEN and it will benefit you the most. If you want to compete against the sticks that are out there weighing fat sacks and taking the checks then you have to Eat, Live, and Breathe BASS FISHING as much or more than they do. If you eat, live and breathe enough of it then you'll start getting paid for it. Then you'll look back, satisfied and confident, and you'll think to yourself.... "Jesus Christ !, was all THAT worth it?"
  4. No, we lost jim 2 years ago. I helped his wife find a home for "ol'blue" and she moved to Vegas to be near the kid. He'd be all fired up about turkey huntin' about now. Dude loved to chase the gobblers.
  5. Yeah, those bowfishing rigs are sweet! I'm building one for a local boy that is similar to the one you saw at BPS. It's making me wanna get into it myself. Neat sport.
  6. Hell you were up here TODAY! Or was that a AF joke? That's ok, try to sell it closer to home. If it doesn't sell and you really wanna unload it we can work something out. I'm sure I could bait you in if I really needed to.
  7. Well Yeah! Big ones with teeth!
  8. Jerry, do you by chance remember the one Jim and I pulled on the old ATL board about 14 years ago? We had between 7-10 boats way up the Osage driving around in circles looking for the old Segrada bridge pilings. That was the greatest prank I've ever been a part of, and it really woke me up as to how many people read these forums but never register or post.
  9. I'll trade ya a couple spinnerbaits for it Naw....how much?
  10. I found it (E6SLCOB) That's one of those 6's that can be turned into an 8hp with a carb swap. It's probably a fairly sought after motor....in the right circles. Might bring a premium on Ebay.
  11. They may have on the long shaft (sailboat) kickers. Hmmm....
  12. Actually it looks factory. I'll have to research that. Interesting. Gimme a model number. That's not a "Johnson", it's an Evinrude, ya putz.
  13. Someone has installed a charge coil and rectifier from a 15hp....I assume to help charge a battery. That's crazy You'd have to run a long ways to make much of a difference. It's only 6amps so you'd burn enough gas to have just bought another battery
  14. Maybe when/if they step up the flow then the nasty shovelheads will move on up further???? I dunno. Spoonbill aren't a fish that I give much of a crap about. LOL
  15. Maybe Crackens tach is off. First step should probably be to have someone check your charging system output, and verify your tach accuracy.
  16. Don't be afraid to snatch a few and bring them home for closer study next time. There's no possession limit on aquatic bugs, and they don't draw blood or inject poison.
  17. You're not gonna gain anything with a 21 if you're only turning a 19p @4500 I think you might have a sync/timing issue.
  18. Let me just say that "I hate them" and leave it at that. Couple more years and they'll be a dime a dozen on craigs.
  19. I think DVE is 6.00 (3in/3out) I've never launched there when it was this low, kinda surprised that anything bigger than a jon boat could get in/out there easily.
  20. I would expect it to leap out of the hole....but wind up a bit too tight with a 19p. You should be able to turn a 21p 3-blade with that setup and keep her just under 5500 loaded.
  21. Gale is always good. That's a fairly steep/deep bank.
  22. I'm not into jug or drift fishing either. I've had decent success casting and dragging cut shad/gills on long sloping points and drops just like you would a Carolina rig. I never seem to get into really huge cats, but 3-10 lbers are usually what I'm looking for anyway.
  23. Model # J6RCRM ? Offered in Manual start only. Are you sure they are "wires" ..... or a kill switch lanyard? Post me some pics with the cowling off.
