  1. Yep, and he's lucky she lacked more imagination ! Greasy, bet that incident never made the news. Wow, I have seen similar, but not with near enough witnesses.
  2. Gavin's pic brought back a fond memory. I once rode a canoe down a sledding path (called Widowmaker hill). I thought I'd be able to steer by dragging the paddle on one side or the other.... still not clear on why that doesn't work. The plan was to get a hilarious video to stick on TY, but the canoe got sideways, I tried to "rudder it back straight" and rolled. I almost broke my neck so I didn't try a second run. Being in a kayak though, with your butt closer to the ground it should work great.
  3. Oh I gotta hear this! What were you reported to have done that caused them to draw down on you without a questioning session first? ,....................................................................................................... The situation that I'm most curious about is; What happens when you are carrying and someone engages you in a fist fight? Ya know, cuz you allegedly touched his girlfriends butt as she passed by, or whatever. Do you defend yourself physically with your hands and feet, or do you go for the pistol in fear that he might get it from you during the scrap? That's a real world situation, right? And one where you're probably better off without the gun.
  4. Wow, that's pretty crazy. I woulda figured several other streams would go dry before the OF. I suppose a good portion of it is lost underground along various stretches. Find the upwellings and you would probably find some nice fish.....but so could the meat eaters.
  5. A bear ate a pig that ate peaches ? s#!tty pics
  6. Pig? Where's the nearest peach tree?
  7. Why are you putting Jack and I's quotes in a catagory together ? So, you see someone shoot another, then turn and walk away..... Do you drop him? If so, keep in mind that someone behind you is gonna see it....and all they might know is that YOU just shot someone. And then the guy who is just getting out of his car when that guy drops you....What does HE know? Before you can say "holy piss" you've got 5 guys bleeding in the parking lot, when otherwise the original shooter prolly would have driven home, had a breakdown and turned himself in before breakfast the next day.
  8. Huh? I'm just talkin, Lee. Actually this topic was beat to death (with news links of the incidents mentioned included) on here last Winter. I just have a hard time avoiding a rehash when it concerns something that is a pet peeve of mine. I guess I feel like if I can bring just one self deputized vigilante commando back down to reality that possibly it could become contagious and in some way make the world a better place. Or maybe I just get off on picking fights with those more heavily armed, who have completely opposite ideas about how to make the world a better place.
  9. KC, Holy crap man, you coulda been raped! Good thing someone tossed them a ball ! LMAO
  10. And another thing ; Everyone is just assuming that there were no CCW folks in the theater when the Joker surfaced. Odds are there was a dozen+ of them in there within range of the freak, so why was there no savior heros? Yeah yeah, I know.... "If YOU had been there ....." Pffft ! Well sure, I mean hopefully a CCW permitted and armed citizen doesn't PURPOSELY shoot an innocent bystander. So now there's an "Ooops" clause, right?
  11. Technically, yeah. I think in all 3 incidenta a CCW carrier mishandled his/her "weapon", and somehow it was concidered a no-fault accident. This I am assuming because no charges were filed. My point (regardless) is.... Nobody has been saved recently, if ever. Yet several have been harmed. So you supposedly carry to protect yourself, but increase the risk of harm to innocent folks nearby in doing so? Regardless of how awesome you are, if you carry 24/7/365 then the odds that you'll slip up in some way are increasing as time goes on. The first month that I owned a high dollar smart phone I never dropped it or misplaced it...... but now that carrying it has become routine (even during long periods of not needing it) I find that it gets dropped and abused more frequently. It's just human nature for y'all to eventually treat your "weapons" like you treat your cell phones. You carry it day after day, every day and tou expect me to believe that you will never ever become pre-occupied with anything else and take your focus away from that loaded firearm? Horse S#!t !
  12. Love the closing statement. LOL
  13. Well there has been at least 3 shooting incidents in the last 10 months here in Mo. that have been in the news. Remember? ( two of them were in church and one was either in a elevator or on a staircase somewhere. So how'd those escape the tally?
  14. Definatly ! To this day there has probably been more CCW shooting accidents (citizens injured or possibly killed) than there has been "lives saved" by CCW carriers. I haven't actually researched the statistics but I bet that is an accurate guess. I don't care if you are ex-cop/ex-military or ex-wtfever.....that whole "I pack heat everywhere I go" mentality is a bigtime type D personality thinking error. IMO of course.
  15. To quote Bill Hicks.... "There's a WAR going on, and people on drugs are winning it. What's that tell ya"?
  16. Anytime JR, give a shout if you get close and have some time to kill.
  17. Some good sized ones have been following the shad to the surface in the evenings. Following the schools of 2"shad and suspending a jig 3-4ft. under a bobber might work, but tossing small jigging spoons into the schools is a quicker way to get a few decent ones before it gets dark. Seems to only last about 45 minutes, but might last longer on a calm cloudy day if we were to get one. Other than that, there are tons of dinks in the deep brushpiles and along bluffs like always. That's all I got..... Good luck if ya go.
  18. You're a tad bit mis-informed, I've watched them throw frisbee, win repeatedly at Horseshoes, and ride moto-X with extreme precision. A true addict is only slow and sluggish when he/she is "crashing". The dung turns 59 year old couch potatoes into 23 y/o atheletes. Why do you think so many people get hooked on it?
  19. Good Gawd-Almighty! I've seen that boat before
  20. Extremely thin! It's what outboard powerheads are strapped to pallets with. Tow strap garfly:
  21. Y'all want some of this ?
  22. Guys! I was mistaken. Truman is currently 704.6 Wanna know what the lake level was on Aug.20 2011 (last year) ? It was exactly the same, 704.6 November (deer season) 2011 it got down to 704.1 or thereabouts.
  23. LOL, Yeah it's only 6 inches lower than it was this time last year.
  24. Sssshhtt ! Careful now, we've already had one guy damnear arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime.
