  1. Yep, This ^ Very reasonable too. Windshields on Pre-90's models are an exception though.
  2. No man, I was just taken back that someone can't live comfortably on 14k/mo. without also running their credit cards to the limit. Maybe I'm jealous, does that piss YOU off?
  3. Excellent work both of you Beavers. Hey Eric, ya know what that step stool needs?
  4. Usually the sun beating on the flake will have clouded the clear-coat..... there's not much you can do. If you just want it to look good for a few days you can clean it up real good and do a 3-part wax job, but the first time you take it out the cloudiness will come rigjt back. Enjoy your FISHING boat..... who gives a rats butt how sparkly it is. Those Champions are the best!
  5. Folks eating rice and beans, riding bicycles with rags tied around the tires and selling taters out of a wheelbarrow in your neighborhood? Poor ol' flatlanders. darn economy!
  6. Bring her to Lake O, we have shoreline yard sales
  7. I'm with ya, Champ. As long as my family and I are healthy and fish still swim in the lakes and creeks within my reach I can cope with just about anything else in the world going to hell in a handbasket.
  8. During a period of insane boredom the other day I was listening to the Dave Ramsey show on the radio, and people were calling in to brag and scream with excitement about how they had become DEBT FREE (except for their house) while making 170k+/year.... And I was like.... Oh please, FO ! I mean seriously? You bring home 170k/year and you were stressed out over some credit card bills and a car payment ? WTH? They said they had to eat rice and beans, and really sacrifice to pull this debt snowball off. I was speechless.
  9. 7 pounds and some change seems to be the majority LM size ceiling in all of MO. Bass 8lbs. and larger are drastically fewer.... or at least drastically fewer of that size are caught. Do you think most bass croak at about 8lbs in this region, or do you think they begin to change their feeding habits as they get close to 8lbs. ?
  10. Yeah but that:s just a game I play cuz I get lazy when it's cold out.... I can't honestly blame it on a poor economy. That would just be a cop out. I'm hip to the reality of it all. So Jerry, does that mean that when they all hit their limit and judgements fall against them that there will be 5 dollar Wiggle warts again? Sweet!
  11. No kidding. I can't believe the arrogance of these wannabe gun toting saviors, and the ones supporting that movement.... To automatically assume that the good guys will always win in a gunfight is quite a leap. Rather than pay a guard just put a tax free $100k in a case and when a killer appears .... buy him off. A free 100k can change anyones plans for the day.
  12. Theeeere's your sign! Why not take a moment to look into that societal anger.....maybe there's a way to curtail that. Ya think?
  13. I keep hearing that the economy is in the dumps ..... but I sure can't tell it by looking around. When I go to town I only see fairly new cars/trucks, hell I can't even remember the last time I saw anyone driving an old rusty beater. Gas prices are high yet the roads are always busy as can be. All the shopping mart lots are full. The sky is full of jet trails as masses of folks travel abroad for both business and pleasure. Real estate folks are all driving new cars, sporting 70.00 haircuts, 150.00 shoes, and 60.00 fingernails...so apparently property sales are doing well. The bass fishermen are all towing fresh boats with sweet new trucks, throwing 30.00 wiggle warts and 50.00 jerkbaits. Restaurant and bar parking lots are full every night of the week. Lots of new Harleys on the road.....hell even the bikers are looking rather upper-crust. So I dunno, unless EVERYONE is operating via credit card (which might explain the ecessive Air Miles) I just find it hard to recognize this financial peril that everyone is supposedly experiencing...... except for Me! LOL
  14. Y2K bug peach/orange #12
  15. My high school vice P would have loved to carry a gun, and considering his personality and lack of a sense of humor I'm sure he would have been sticking it in our faces on a daily basis. He was a genuine jackass and considering that most of us had guns in our unlocked vehicles in the school parking lot it is a wonder that he never got shot. So faculty packing heat? Noway! I'll never be down with that, because alot of school personnel are closet psychopaths.
  16. Supposed river veterans whining over a single portage that isn't even a reality yet. What a bunch of crybaby's. Sometimes carrying out your job can be a tad challenging, get over it! I wish to hell that I could call on the government and the COE to eliminate obstacles everytime a problem surfaced around here. 10 million+ for the COE to knock down a few high spots..... would it really cost more than that to load/unload the barges a few miles further downstream, just until it rained a bit ?
  17. Now there's a situation where a shotgun in your hand trumps a 9mm in your pants.
  18. Wheeeeew! It is gettn deep in here.
  19. No, I don't "winterize" mine either. Just make sure when you pull it out at the ramp that you let the motor back down (vertical) to let all the water drain out. If you have a water pressure guage and,/or pitot type speedometer on the helm it's good to unhook the hose(s) behind the guage(s) and blow the water out of them. It's also a pretty good idea to splash a little RV anti-freeze into your livewell drains and leave the drain valves OPEN. And last but not least.... pull your bottom gearcase oil drain screw and get a small sample of the lube, if it is milky white or there is any signs of water go ahead and pull the vent plug and drain it completely until you can arrange to have the seals checked/replaced.
  20. You don't get it, Joe..... I'm in the spirit world VanDammit !
  21. It's a riddle, right? Beer bong/Beer thong
  22. Huh? What's that about?
  23. LOL, That wouldn't raise the Miss but a few inches for a few days. The banks of the Salt are unstable so a sudden dump would just result in all that water blowing out into bean fields. This has to be a joke, right? It would be cool to see LO and Truman sucked dry though.
  24. I gotta disagree. The Hotspot mapping is so far off on LO, Truman, and Mark Twain that it's rediculis. The old yellow Structure Graphic paper maps are the most accurate that I have ever seen for these lakes, but even they suck in the upper creek arm areas and back 1/2 of all coves. There hasn't been THAT degree of contour and channel change due to erosion. Those contours on Hotpot are something that a 4 year old child could improve on. Not attempting to dog any products, I have just always wondered how/why they can get pretty close to accurate on midlake areas but just go completely off the charts on the upper ends.
  25. And that has been an issue with lake mapping ever since the first topo-map was printed. Once you enter a max area depth of 15' maps do not show accurate structure or even an accurate shoreline contour or channel location. When you stop to realize that most fish are caught shallower than 15' it kinda makes you wonder if these maps are helping you or hurting you. What is the problem there anyway? If 20+ft areas are supposedly accurate (to a degree) then why are the shallower areas so far off? Is the mapping any more "correct" on any of these units than the paper maps are? There are tons of points, humps, ledges, and flats that do not show up on any map or mapping software I have ever seen, and many even show structure contours that are not even there.
