no doubt on that mettle they had them on sale for 25 bucks the last two black firday events...talk about a bargain! and a pretty darn good reel too

according to the guy at hickory hollow which is a resort with a "private" boat ramp that he has been charging the public a 3 dollar fee for years to launch. when we pulled up for the first time there this spring and saw the signs covered with no tresspassing signs we had to go ask if we could launch. he claimed that the water patrol or corp. or somebody had been harrassing him and said that he cannot charge any longer. i would assume because the state wasn't getting their fair share of the proceeds. none the less he is now accepting a donation and everyone is a guest of the resort.

if i was to guess i would say that steve and joni the former owners of kings harbor probably made those spinners, i believe they are still making some jigs and probably those very same spinners and can still be found at the harbor or at least a way to contact them... ie business card

Joplin Globe Article On Coe, Np, Fs Closers

there were trucks parked at h hwy friday afternoon, i personally have used big creek, viola, big m, and eagle rock since this shutdown and no one seems to be around anywhere. plus i figure if they really didn't want us using them they would put up gates or drive posts, or put out huge rocks or something besides a little ole plastic sign on only one side of the entrance. -
they do not have a courtesy dock axcept for the marina itself but they do have a drop box for the fee

ok boys i know this is not a final word by any means but.... i called the shell know chamber of commerce about the annual homer sloan tournament and if it was still on. they told me that everything is good to go the government cannot stop fishing. i was told that they are merely blocking off the camp grounds but the launch ramps are still open to the public. i am inclined to think that that they sk chamber of comerce has indeed checked it out since it is a staggered flight launch out of two different marinas. i mentioned viola because that is where one of the flights leaves from and they said not to worry they are open (whew) as long as i can get in the water they can tag me when i get back to the truck

i stop and retie often because you never know when that "good one" or personal best is gonna bite and i surely don't want to lose her because i was lazy and been dragging my jig through the rocks for the last hour and had my line all frayed up

i bought the lake fork tackle spoons and have pretty good success with them jason i got mine from bass tackle depot i think i paid about seven bucks or so about the same as a descent crankbait i use the five inch spoons on the drops and ledges when they push out deeper. i think they weigh about 1.25oz and to tell you the truth i have only lost one spoon of the five i bought two years ago they are heavy enough that if you just shake the crap out of them most time they come right undone, also a downside with flying fish though. oh yeah i use the five inch version in crome

im gonna second quill on what he found today GOOD JOB! by the way quill i was the one that put in right along beside you this morning in the older grey nitro one thing i will add though is i found overall pretty much the same pattern as you but when and where i was able to find bushes on the flats that had a little more water on them say 2.5 to 3 ft there was a might better quality of fish there i had three fish over 4lb today flipping a sweet beaver right up in the heart of the brush as well caught several on top water nothin to shout about though some were keeper size but nothin great i was able to catch some dandy spotted bass in the three to three and a quarter pound range on a dd22 suspended over fifty feet of water on the bluff end points and in the guts of the deeper pockets i fished until four and as hard as its been for me to catch anything other than males here lately i wouldnt be one bit bashfull about carrying my best five to the scales today... i wish every day was as good

Bass Fishing Report Table Lake March 6Th. 2013
riverfish replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
thumbs, not silly but notice how bill said too many dying shad. when it first starts happening or just a few its always been pretty good for me kinda like a chum sort of thing but when hundred are dying they just get themseves gorged and wont feed -
the abu garcia line of max's black, silver, and pro are the same thing as the higher end of revos they say the higher end are different but other than the gear ratios they are the same i have a dozen of them a few of all three and i love them by buddy bought all the hegher end and has me clean and lubel them for him i can litterally switch out the bearings and gears from one to the other and they are all the same it really is a lot of bang for your buck

some of the ol timers on table rock used to play that little water trick with the old rogues it does work, little more time consuming that lead wire but it works

i was over at grove last weekend and saw fish bustin from the road don't be surprised if its won in the river with a crankbait or a piece of plastic. like cullinby9 said it can happen overnite on grand especially in the river
-
not sure what part of the lake you visit but it is low the ramp choices are getting pretty lean right now. and if we don't get some rain in the early spring they gonna get a whole lot leaner

fished the new kvd stick bait saturday the 12th between campbell point to the baxter area fished bluffs and bluffends caught 13 fish 9 keeps. i liked the bait really well for its price throws well, sets fairly straight in the water a little tail down but that can be fixed . as was mentioned in another post i needed the bait to be ever so slightly sinking to get bit but they would hammer it. the bait moves really wide side to side action i was pretty impressed for eight bucks. did manage a couple fish on the a rig and a couple on a spoon but most of my action was with the sticker. didn't have to pause for long varied between a three and a five count and they ate it good. the color was pro blue

i have and throw several different stick baits but none have caught as many fish for me as a smithwick rogue in clown color

i know of three ways to catch bigger fish and they are as follows... get lucky, catch quanity, and last but not least... bigger baits. i would say the first is your best option. you can target bigger fish with the bigger baits but you have to be willing to settle with five or six bites a day which you may not get. but with luck and quanity, you up your chances of catching a better fish. just by putting numbers in the boat. just my opinon

save your money, hire a good guide schedule a four hour trip. the fishing in january can be pretty awesome on the rock. surely you can squeeze a half day trip in. and the guide will be already on some type of producing pattern to make your experiance more productive. i suggest an afternoon trip to give the fish time to get out of bed. there are some very good guides on this lake.
