My dad and I fished Friday-Sunday. Talk about wind. We fished the Dam area as usual. Big South wind made it hard to fish the usual spots we fish for smallmouth with Ned rig. It was impossible to fish any main lake gravel with Ned. We found some LM and K bedders somewhat out of the wind in a few places. Water sometimes as high as 65 in afternoon in creeks. Very tough to fish the way we wanted to. Going to try and get back Friday to go after brown fish but they are calling for 10-20 mph winds again. Got a bonus monster white but couldn’t get others to bite. Also casted a few off the dock while checking boat batteries at night and got a fat brownie

New PB spotted bass on the Rock. Any ideas on weight
Alex Heitman replied to Jozark's topic in Table Rock Lake
Looks like a K to me. The diamond detail on its back and the lateral line does it for me -
Solid river fish

What lake level is gravios mills ramp safe to put in at? Never have put in there and wanted to fry up that way.

Big Bass Tour - KVD Big Bass Classic - April 8-10th
Alex Heitman replied to Big Bass Tour's topic in Table Rock Lake
The FFS one gets me because he is fishing pro tournaments and whining about FFS because he doesn’t have one and doesn’t know how to use one. That’s his excuse for losing. I mean what did he expect fishing in those tourneys. Also before he was complaining about the price of bass boats and went with an aluminum boat for a year or two then went straight back to a big tricked out skeeter. There are others but I can’t recall. I mean do give it to the guy he is doing a great job with the channel. He post a video everyday which is hard to do. Much of his credit is due to Johnny the fish the moment dude though. -

No I agree with him on that aspect. I just think his is a whiner. Most tips suck for fishing but I have picked up some that work. -

Randy Blaukat is a certified whiner/cry baby. He has some good tips but a lot of his videos are just hot air coming out his mouth. -
Saw that place last weekend. What a beautiful place

Fished and stayed at Baxter last weekend and we only caught 2 smallmouth the whole trip. Rest were mostly K’s and a few 4 lb LM. It was so windy that it was really hard to fish areas I wanted to. We did catch some big crappie but they were also tight lipped and had to have it right in there face.

About 25 of us are headed down to stay in Indian for our annual fish camp Thursday-Sunday. We usually stay around dam/long creek area but are switching it up this year. I was just wondering the water clarity after the recent rains and if the crappie and whites have started moving. Should be able to figure out the other bass but we are wanting a fish fry on Saturday nigh fry. Otherwise we will have to go to town to get food haha.

All these fishermen glued to their screen will help keep my chiropractic practice busy 😎. I think FFS is really cool but really frustrating when they come up and don’t bite. Had my fair share last winter watching them not eat damiki rigs so went to the bank and had better luck on jigs and jerkbait. It still takes tons of practice to get it dialed in where you can see your bait and fish at the same time. I still have trouble sometimes and mine is probably not tuned right. I would like to to know the ins and outs but it is very time consuming.

Connell literally says biggun on every fish catch today and some aren’t even two lbs. gets annoying but he is putting in a clinic.

Terrible coaching on Mizzou’s part but that’s expected. You cant expect them to get a rebound and score with only 4-5 sec differential on the shot clock. They were down by 1 and should have fouled to keep the game going. Totally expected at this point though. They are hard to watch

Great report as always. Walking the dog top water might have got those chasers

Glass costas is the only way to go

Sugar fire is a good bbq place for the money in STL. Not great but not bad. I usually always enjoyed their brisket there.

Well we put in at Mccubbins and did not do well. Tried buzzbait in the back with cranks and spinnerbait. Nada. Caught only one keeper bass all day on jig with lots of dinks. For some reason we could not locate the crappie. Found a few large schools but they were tight lipped. I usually fish up by the dam so I don’t have all the brush piles found down that way. Talked to guy at rank and he said the crappie shut down for them after 10 AM. Great day to be out though
-
Thanks fellas. Is falcon off W the only place to put in close to the dam?
-
Plan on going with my dad tomorrow to fish for bass and bringing crappie stuff in case they don’t cooperate. We went to Mccubbins about a month ago and did not do very well besides a big one that got off at the boat. Thinking about trying mccubbins again or going to Coffman or Larry gale. Can someone rule out at least a section that is not fishing well as others

Who likes non stop BIG Olde Spots on top water??
Alex Heitman replied to Smalliebigs's topic in General Angling Discussion
Until you are paralleling a bank and try to catch one in the tops of the trees. Don’t ask lol -
Speaking of you ploppers, isn’t it time for that bite to start or am I late to the party
-
The only way I see a pole helping is if you are crappie fishing or like to spot lock a lot. It’s already hard to keep the trolling motor aimed perfect to see your bait the hole time. I could imagine trying to run the troller and the other pole at the same time.

Nice one Bo. We caught some nice ones again Sunday. I don’t think many have moved up yet. Should be real good soon. Here is some more we caught

Nice big smallie. I’ve been down for last two days and no one was fishing by the dam yesterday but today was different story. Lots of bass boats and big boats. We caught some really nice fish the last few days on crank baits. My dad even caught a 2 lb rainbow trout today on a rock crawler which was odd. We had two K’s and a meanmouth pushing 4lbs the last few days. Good to be back out on the water. It’s been a while.
