  1. Ive ran across some in Norfork lake while diving that had to be 3 lbs. I didnt even know what they were at the time. I was explaining them to my brother as a world record perch and he said the were Redear
  2. From what ive read on BassBoat Central it sounds like a Merc wont even run unless you run "Don's Cocktail"
  3. How is the water in Schooner at far as Clarity, im thinking about coming down mid lake to mess around tomorrow
  4. Im not a huge fan of the weigh every 2lb fish, zero the weight, and all that confusing stuff that MLF does but man their coverage is excellent. The HD quality and drone shots where you can see from above a guy working a bed and even see his bait. Just gotta mute the peanut gallery that constantly talks over the anglers
  5. Crazy, only one other Rig at the Bridgeport neighborhood ramp and one rig at Flat creek ramp. IT was very weird, people must think it is flooding like i was thinking
  6. Bridgeport was a nice green and 62, Point 15 and up the James a couple miles was a little dingy green and 57 good crank bite on a red G5. Flat creek was a nice color too the bridge then up creek from there it was a little muddy but not real bad 57. I did hook a little bass and was reeling it in and then it felt like i hit a log, but the log started pulling and going out into the deep, Im guessing a big cat ate the little bass. It was extremely heavy but then pulled off
  7. Im worried after all the rain thats suppose to happen tonight what it will look like. I was gonna put in at Bridgeport tomorrow and look for crappie. Not sure if thats a good idea or not
  8. 10 is what is recommended
  9. Thats the truth, i was walking out of the Salem Hospital one early morning after working and a crazy lady pulled up to the ER scratching all over her body and asked if we had anything in there for fleas. She said she had fleas, and then sped off. Im guessing she was on the good homemade stuff
  10. Put on the Depth limiter collar thing they sent me, took it to the lake re calibrated and it still doesnt work. Now they are sending me a new troller hope it works better
  11. Bull is horrible, Zebra mussels have decimated the fishing. Still scraping them off my hull from the last trip, stay away from that flooded gar hole of a lake
  12. No memory sounds so nice, im looking for something better for my crappie rigs, problem is if you not in the brush getting hung your probably not catching them. So i go through a lot of line and i want something money friendly. Ive tried all kinds of line and havent found any that is perfect yet. I usually hook my jig on to something and walk out in my driveway and give the cheap stuff a good stretch before i go and it helps a lot
  13. Soo much wind it was a tough day. Took a friend and even the Garmin spotlock is horrid, it was still better than nothing once i got it set in the right place. Water around 58 from Bport-Flatt creek-James. We didnt catch much in Flatt, mud and current were starting to move in, we fished up James from 15, we ended up with 19. We had a honey hole pile and a dude saw us catch 5 in a row, looked like he was bass fishing so i didnt give it a thought. Once it cooled down we wanted to give it a rest after being hung multiple times and catching a few. We Left Came back and we had a hole vulture sitting on it with his crappie gear.. The rudeness on the water was at a high in flat creek, i could have casted my 1/132 jig at some of these guys that drove buy on plane, or plowing. Im no gods gift to driving a boat but i try my best not to mess with people, if i see a lil jon tied up to a brush pile i always idle by just so i dont bang him around. Its pretty obvious who fishes and who is just down a couple times a year, i try my best not to hold it against people but they really dont know any better
  14. Hotfoots are only cool if your boat is fast, then it feels like a hot rod. My boat is to slow, so i feel fine without one, Ive drove a couple of Ketchup's boats with Hot foots and it seems a lot better on a boat that is fast like his where both hands on the wheel is a good idea
  15. All this livescope controversy and your getting it done off the bank
  16. yeah there were heading the opposite way up by St Louis
  17. Im thinking i want that new Bass Cat with the 450 on the back, i bet 70 in a 22ft boat feels safe. I heard a podcast where Rick Pierce was saying on demo day they wouldnt let the drivers go over 95.6.
  18. Yeah, they were all being towed by individuals, Most these rigs were very new looking too, just seemed odd that many headed the same way on a Saturday morning. Cant think of any close lakes that they would have been headed to up that way
  19. If you want to get technical it heads Northwest.
  20. I was driving south on I-44 this morning between St Louis and Sullivan i bet i saw 100 or more really nice boats headed north, none were wrapped.
  21. Im talking in general not just bass, i know a lot of old school guys believe in this. I think its a crock of BS
  22. I decided to go ahead and call Garmin. Tech told me to re calibrate the GPS using the outboard this time. Doing it with the troller can cause electro magnet interference (exactly what wrench was saying). He also sent me a depth limiter kit, which is just a bushing and he said they can cause trouble, its probably not my issue but he sent it for free to put on anyway since its an updated version from what i have. Nothing like getting customer service with someone that speaks english. He said try those and if it doesnt work we will try somthing else
  23. Saw on the TR crappie facebook page pics of mud and debri at Bridgeport, so its on its way if not already there
  24. I catch a couple every summer on big spoons on accident, usually they are big if you do find them around there
  25. When i did that it was actually on the graph and it did seem to work and improve my livescope. My Force is reversing 20-30 feet now and it does it fast, it actually backed me into the bank the other day, and i dont have it linked to my graphs so it cant be using its GPS. It worked when i got it, just like Travis's and i have another buddy that said his spot lock has become unusable, and he never did an update on it since new and his one one of the real early ones. Im on the road this week but ill Call Garmin when i get back and see what happens
