  1. Good day, good report. Just about time for a big nasty cold front 😂.
  2. 18"-19" brown fish were thick on the ground last year, so it makes sense we'd start seeing 4# fish on the regular this year, barring loss.
  3. Looks like a meanie.
  4. Have to love those Stupid Smallmouth Syndrome days.
  5. Yep. It used to be quite a time.
  6. Yep. It was a basement night for a bit up here last night. Trust everyone will come through ok.
  7. Looks like the water color is excellent.
  8. Yep. That thing.
  9. About twenty years ago there was a version that used a brass sinker eye, sort of melted onto a length of paracord, stuffed full of split shot, and melted closed at the other end. Intent was to replace a Carolina rig weight with it. Worked ok, but never really caught on.
  10. Got it. PM sent.
  11. Friend of ours fished it over the weekend. Finished 14th out of 125. Had been on some good fish and was super excited, said he just couldn't find them that day. Like they were gone. If I can get my inbox to work I'll msg you some more info.
  12. Good old bank grass bite.
  13. I keep a few around in case of a return, sale, whatever. Ok, more than a few.
  14. Grass = bass Hate it when agencies kill it.
  15. I've heard that. 😉
  16. Don't know how it could on our lakes, but I'm rooting for it.
  17. They were free back in the old days. The entry fee turned me off immediately.
  18. Milfoil would be amazing.
  19. With where the eye sits on that bait, you've basically got a 90 degree leg anyway.
  20. Yep. Should be fine from them. Nice solid tubes.
  21. Have ordered bunches of sticks, and blanks, online. Only real issues have been with Jann's, since they stopped using tubes. TW, BPS/Cabela's, American Legacy, Fish USA, Midway, Sportsman's in Alabama, all fine. Plus a lot of eBay... that's not always great, but haven't had anything broken thankfully. Have several Dobyns ordered that way. Dobyns runs a little softer, and more moderate, than you might think. If I wanted a M Dobyns, I'd order a MH, and wouldn't go near anything slower than F or XF.
  22. Good comparison. It's hard to see it being good, long term. Especially on the deep fish.
  23. Pre little brown jig, Shakey head, and Ned they were staples. Our entire club threw them, especially on bluffs up the rivers, and especially in cold water. We also used to put them straight down into deep trees, when we had trees. Was just a killer in the fall. 1/8 to 3/8 wire guard heads like the Chompers heads, or football heads.
  24. Now that it is semi replaceable, I've been re-brining and rehabbing my old pork. A few jars are going in the boat this spring, and just painted a bunch of Arkie and Stanley style jigs for flat rubber skirts. Had a couple dozen jars go missing on me for a few years. Finally found them under a bunch of carded Rattleback and First Out jigs in the fish room.
  25. Inches and inches of snow up here. Heckuva start to spring break for the kids. Good weather for making jigs and packing tackle. That's about it.
