  1. Like this idea, even if it's not an on the water event. Lot of options.
  2. That's a good man gone. Prayers for his family from ours.
  3. Right on.
  4. Prayers on the way. May God keep you in His mighty hands throughout this.
  5. He sounds like several guys from our area.
  6. That's what I was afraid of. Appreciate it, though.
  7. Will your old Tour just pop into the new Tour bracket without switching mounts? I've been holding off on putting the new Tour on because no one seems to be able to answer that, including TM repair folks.
  8. My old Tour 109 broke, so I bought an even older Tour 109 and slapped it on, and a brand new Tour...but with zero bells and whistles.
  9. Y'all are making me like my old Tours even more.
  10. Trilene knot, most of the time with Seaguar. Occasionally a "fishing fool" knot, if there's some reason not to use a Trilene...drop shot, for example. It works just like a Palomar for that, and I trust it more.
  11. They're like putting a screwdriver in a light socket on a fly rod. Fun stuff.
  12. If prices hadn't gotten out of hand, I'd still be straight Invizx on everything FC. Sunline is some no joke strong line though. I might be fine with it on a casting reel.
  13. That notch can beat up your line, doesn't take much. I tape over them to match the spool lip. I generally just buy the 1000yd spools. Those notches are even worse with braid.
  14. Sure sounds like a bad batch. Running a ton of it, nothing unexpected. Is it from a 200yd spool, or one of the 1000yd spools? Those little spools have that featherplucking "notch" in them.
  15. Seaguar, either Red Label or Invizx. Tried a few others, none were close for what I need it to do. Invizx is definitely softer (not weaker). Red Label reminds me of the original Carbon Pro. That is the FC line I learned on, so it might be why it suits me. Ran all Invizx until the price got completely out of hand a few years ago. But...I re-spool quite often. I took something like 4k yds of 6# Red Label to the lake in April. A couple of friends are big on 7# Sunline. That stuff is like wire compared to Seaguar.
  16. The Falcon Expert 7' "finesse jig" spinning rod might be the worst stick I've ever dropped $$ on. Actually painful to fish. Bought one in 2020 at HLS as a replacement during our trip. Huge mistake. Every other Falcon I've owned was fishable...maybe not my favorite, but a good functional rod. That one is a strange critter.
  17. Shellac that joker.
  18. Reminded of the scene from Tommy Boy. Something about a dump in a box, but with a guarantee on it.
  19. I clean my Ranger about once every seven or eight years, so I'm the wrong one to ask. Our tin boat just gets threatened with the shop vac on occasion, but it's a beater.
  20. Like the new boat T. Very functional ride.
