Put me down for let Mother Nature have her way and stop spending my $$$ to try to do otherwise. Some streambank stabilization work is not doing otherwise, it's helpin' her out.
It depends. I owed serious money in the late 1980's and early 90's. But had good businesses that the debt allowed to expand and increase cash flow and profits. A couple of guys from Texas showed up one day and wanted to own what I had. Eventually, they did. Paid everything off and put serious money in the bank. Have always had zero personal debt ever since but still carry business debt. Could write a check for it tomorrow but taxes say don't do it.
I do totally agree with the live beneath your means and pay cash for what you buy. Has served me well over my lifetime.
There are more than a few college boys on this site and I would venture to guess that most of us are living a pretty good life.
I know going to school sure helped my career.
Chili and jalapeno corn bread, for halftime. Built the chili this morning about 8:00 so it would have some time to meld. And there will be beer. Just Lite Beer from Miller, nothing fancy. But I like it so there!
Statistics, Organic Chemistry, Quantitative chemical analysis, Qualitative chemical analysis, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Lemnology, I could go on but you get the point. Maybe.
I went to college on the GI Bill. And part time jobs during the school year and full time work in the summer. I guess that takes away from it. Haters gonna hate.
You guys that can name the different strains of the same species of fish - trout, suckers, carp, drum, SMB you name it - have a lot of respect from me. That takes a good eye and some real learning/remembering power.
My Thermos thermos is a wide mouth unit too. Unmarked as to origin. I've got an old unmarked Kelly Green thermos that I won at a DU banquet back in the 1800's. It's beat to hell - especially the cup - and any logo that might have been there when it was new is gone. But it still works good too.
Don't currently own anything Stanley that I know of. Share the tool opinion so just don't buy them.
Fun thread MoPanfisher!
I've had several Stanley's over the years. Had several go bad assume they lost vacuum somehow. Had one for years that was beat to hell but still worked great. Where it is now nobody knows.
The ones with pour through stoppers did not hold heat as long as the ones with the insulated stoppers. I've got a Thermos brand thermos now with insulated stopper that still lets you pour with it partially opened. Bigger cup than Stanley and cup is plastic lined so your hands don't get burned and the coffee stays hot long enough. It's my new favorite.
