  1. It can, right up to tightest.
  2. Not for a while, but hopefully eventually, I'd like to be able to travel again, eat out, see friends and so on. Chief's game? Not for a while until after everything is copacetic - which could be years.
  3. Don't ask me how but I'm still losing weight. Digging riding the bike again. If the weather is not favorable, I walk. Comfortably again and thankful for that. Miss seeing friends and going out to eat. Miss going to baseball games (grandkids mostly, but also Springfield Cardinals) Miss watching sports on TV Hate wearing a mask but do it anyway when appropriate. Worried about our little water and sewer company as it's in Branson and lots of rental units sitting empty. Digging baking bread again. Digging having 1/4 beef set for pickup early next week. Don't miss going to Wal-Mart at all Digging having a little garden spot ready to go Don't like worrying so much about the future. Not normally the worrying kind but lately - yeah I worry Don't like wasting - it feels that way - so much valuable time just killing time But. Surviving and being thankful for health, neighbors, family and you guys. It helps to vent. Edit: Ness, you'll never know the misspelled word I corrected because I can keep a secret.

    What's Cooking?

A little bowl of chili and sourdough Texas toast.
  5. 3 dozen eggs cost $7.92 here this morning. Fine by me, do not want to ever be out of eggs.
  6. I've been hungry before. Didn't like it. 😎
  7. Marines will eat anything. Even a coot.
  8. The place I frequented did buffalo ribs, french fries and sweet/sour cole slaw. And cold beer.
  9. Buffalo ribs are terrific! That one had some real ribs too.
  10. Nutria are more like muskrats than anything. Southern and a NW thing too. They're aquatic like a muskrat. Big teeth. My terrier people back in the day hunted them.
  11. You're in a very good area. That's a big part of being lucky.

    What's Cooking?

A bone in thick pork chop done correctly is hard to beat. Back in a former life I spent time in Iowa in winter hunting raccoons. There was an absolutely incredible local steakhouse that did every last thing on the menu and salad bar from scratch in house. Including pickled herring, pickled beets, best pea salad you have ever had deviled eggs, you name it. And some great - truly great steaks - most everyone ordered ribeyes and I've had one and they really were great. But. My usual was the Iowa Chop. A 2 inch thick bone in pork chop. Grilled just right. Freaking incredible. Wish I could do it again! But alas, those days are gone. Edit - it was a supper club, with good cocktails. Dang it! I miss that time and those guys.
  13. I've had more trailer light troubles due to bad grounding than I should ever admit to. One of my favorite problems to fail to remember and jump through all kind of hoops to fix and then put another flat spot on my forehead.
  14. That's the plan.
  15. I'd say that depends on how hungry I get.

    What's Cooking?

We've eaten a bit over half of what I made on Saturday. The starter is on the counter again and being fed in anticipation of round 2. First round I added a package of rapid rise yeast as King Arthur flour recipe suggested. The bread is really good but I do want to try with just the starter. We prefer the regular loaves so will be making it in that form. I'll take more time with this batch. Did get another bag of flour today - no bread flour available so AP will just have to do when I run out of the bread flour that's still in the cabinet.
  17. Exactly. I bet we don't figure it out here either.
  18. I have it on good evidence it's up there. And. There's not one bad cooking suggestion! Just not enough days to try them all.
  19. It's chilly down here too. But fine weather for planting potatoes. A little rainy but not stupid. Maybe a flake or two of snow. A little windy out of the north. Perfect.
  20. When I fish the Norfork I just fire up the motor to miss obstacles or get more or less where we want to be drifting. I do not sweat the boat getting sideways or even doing a spin so long as we're not getting ready to die or anything. Never fished Little Red. ALWAYS use a drag chain on the White.
  21. Be sure to let them scab over and don't let that woman digging that square hole plant them either.
  22. Nevada's grocery shopping opportunities are incredibly limited for a town that size. Ozark is only a little larger and it has three grocery stores plus the WM supercenter.
  23. I'm older than he is. But I haven't done half as much. Or even a fourth.
  24. You've got to be the unluckiest sickest guy I've never met. How you stay on this side of the dirt is a freakin' miracle!
  25. I take a zyrtec and a spray of flonase up each nostril every morning. Adding the flonase really makes a difference for me. Actually both of the meds are generic versions. Cheaper and the have the same active ingredients.
