  1. Thanks all for the great reports. I joke about it but really don't fear surgery anymore. I've had way too many and never any problems.
  2. Sir. Have you tried Tasty Kake key lime donuts? You should. You can trade some to sugar britches for something to help you sleep.
  3. You really are a pervert aren't you?
  4. I always thought it was Father Time who is the all-time undefeated untied champion of the universe. But mother nature can be kind of rough too.

I hear it makes good rope too.
  6. That's along the lines of what I was thinking. Better drugs, and enough of them please and thank you. Standard line of mine that it really didn't take me all that long to learn.
  7. She says she barely remembers it - mostly talking to the doctor about camping in Branson. And thanks for the good wishes.
  8. Lovey had it done a couple of years ago. She is super happy with the results.
  9. So yesterday I had an eye appointment. Noticed some vision changes over the last couple of years and had it checked out. Long story short, cataract surgery on left eye September 14 and right eye September 26. I know I harp on modern medicine frequently and here goes again. Lens replacement is done in the eye doctor's office that has a surgery center. Total time in the office is about an hour and the surgery itself takes about ten minutes. The only thing I'm worried about is that vice they hold your head in with the bolts in your ears so you don't wiggle. And I hear they use toothpicks to hold your eyes open during the procedure. Wish me luck. AND thanks to Medicare, the cost will be $90.00 which is for eye drops to use before and after the work is done.
  10. When we leave this slice of heaven, it will be for something maintenance free - condo, duplex or townhome.
  11. My net deposit this year is $2790/month, after a $233.00 medicare supplement deduction. And I don't have any dead husbands. Being debt free is huge in retirement, may you all get there.
  12. Don't get any of that stuff on your for sale worms.
  13. I was raised by two single women - Mother and Grandmother. Hard workers both of them. They taught me a lot about life, one of the important things being - care about your own future, don't rely on others to take care of you. Stuck with me too, even as a young married man I always focused on caring for the family, our place and our future. It took a while but by my 30's I was able to live beneath my means and save with IRA and 401K while employed by others and ultimately working for myself. The failure of Social Security was preached about then and I believed I would likely never see much if anything from that quarter. Glad I was wrong but had I been right we still would be OK. Not wealthy by any means but solid comfortable retirement where we can do pretty well what we please. The day I quit working for a paycheck from others changed everything for the better. Tough work life but I always maxed out retirement savings contributions - even if it meant a staycation instead of a vacation. Selling the business two years ago was the crowning achievement that put us out of worrying about money. It's hard for me to work up much sympathy for the able bodied people of our country who are like grasshoppers only living for today and don't have any actual retirement plan other than hope. Good luck nonetheless.
  14. 2 lb. test bigguns. Well done!
  15. That song has already been written. Porter Wagoner sang it a long time ago. He called it "The Cold Hard Facts of Life". Went triple platinum.
  16. Can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em. I just made that up.
  17. And a train. Where's Jerry Jeff when we need him?
  18. Actually not the same stuff. This was mixed in the water he used to knock the nest down.
  19. Hootentown or Galena or a gravel bar for the win.
  20. No drama at all. There's apparently a chemical that when they're sprayed with it it's instant off for the hornets. The nest is washed down now.
  21. No you. I'll split the America's funniest videos winnings with you. I'll be taking the video from inside the truck, just so you know. Fleetwood pest control will be here later this afternoon. I will actually video that project. If it's any good, I'll share.
  22. I heard a rumor Green Bridge replacement might be open by May.
