  1. Sure, go ahead and laugh. Then drive through Bona. You'll know what I'm talking about then.
  2. I would not hire a lawyer to let me pick up a trailer that I owned and had a title on. I would just go and get it and take it home or to some other campground. Don't take a gun but do ask a deputy to accompany you. Take your title with you too, then there won't be any question about who owns what. BTW, what is it with so many people thinking that a gun is going to help settle a disagreement anyway? At the ramp, on the water, over a trailer, give me a break. None of that crap short of someone threatening YOUR life is gun worthy. And even then I like to think I'm smart enough to avoid those situations. 63 years old, USMC veteran so definitely not an anti gunner person at all and never felt the need to pull a gun on anybody yet. Honestly if gives me the creeps when someone suggests it for something that isn't anything like a real threat situation. Think people, think. With your head.
  3. Flooding. Probably not, more rain headed this way through maybe Thursday.
  4. Yes indeed, big time rain and it looks to be far from over.
  5. Hats on backwards, otherwise you got it covered.
  6. Love that river, I need to get down there again. Glad you had a good day with your son.
  7. I can back a boat trailer or travel trailer or semi trailer into just about any little old spot there is. but put four wheels and a tongue on it and I get the heebie jeebies. Still have my moments with level wind reels. But Lovey says I am the best kisser in the whole wide world. So who am I to argue?
  8. I don't see where adding appendages would add anything to something like that thing anyway. It's not a popping bug or similar.
  9. Or worse?
  10. Everybody has a first time. At just about everything I can think of. You guys should have seen the first time I tried to cast that Daiwa Millionaire back in 1973. And the first time I tried to back a hay wagon into the barn in 1967. And the first time I tried to kiss that girl in the movies back in 1964. Only one of those turned out OK.
  11. We caught very few smallmouth between Greer and Riverton earlier this year. But the trout fishing was very very good. That's a pretty long two day float fishing in paddle craft if you ask me. We did it in a Shawnee with a 9.9 and piddled around and fished a lot. Perfect two day deal that way. Don't get me wrong, totally do-able just more than I care for.

    What's Cooking?

I'm with you ness, don't care for chard either. And one of the nastiest things I've had in my mouth lately was a sample of siricha kale chips that some old hippie was peddling at the farmer's market. My expression said it all as his comment after watching me taste it was "they're not for everybody".
  13. Both of you dads made my day. Many thanks.
  14. Seldom do I eat before 7:30 or 8:00. Too much stuff to do around the place.
  15. I'm older than I've ever been.
  16. Those are the right sized channels if you ask me. Enjoy a good fish fry.
  17. If I was any of you guys except maybe Ham I would listen to what Super Dave has to say about any and everything to do with fishing the Ned.
  18. rps: here is everything I know about mushroom hunting in one sentence and I am willing to bet no one will disagree - go a lot you will find them where you find them and when you find them that's where they are and will be. No charge.
  19. Doesn't look like you caught him.
  20. Bill, you are one of the best ever. Hang in there.

And to think you could have had it for $3.63/lb.

    What's Cooking?

I'm pretty much a god when it comes to cooking steaks to the desired degree of doneness. Fork or tongs to test resilience is the deal. Always allow for a little more cooking to occur on the plate. And the fork is not used to poke the meat, the back of the fork to press on the steak.

    What's Cooking?

I have a confession to make. I use Adolph's unseasoned meat tenderizer and granulated garlic on steaks. Usually about an hour or two before grilling time. Also prefer mesquite charcoal, it seems to get hotter than oak/hickory charcoal. No butter on steaks at my house. Nobody complains about it, at least to my face.
  24. Good job staying calm and dealing with a bad situation in a very adult manner. Don't go down the gun road unless your life is in danger. No one wants to shoot someone or get shot over anything short of that.
